Effects of Br^- and I^- concentrations on Zn electrodeposition from ammoniacal electrolytes

The effects of Br- and I- concentrations on the cell voltage, anodic polarization, current efficiency （CE）, and energy consumption （EC） of zinc electrodeposition from ammoniacal ammonium chloride solutions were investigated. The surface morphology of zinc deposits was also examined. Scanning electron microscopy （SEM） and X-ray diffraction （XRD） were used to characterize the morphology of zinc deposits and the phase of anodic sediments produced during electrolysis. The results clearly showed that the CE slightly increased from approximately 95.12% in the absence of F and Br- to 97.08% in the presence of 10 g·L-1 Br; in contrast, the CE significantly decreased to less than 83% in the presence of 10 g·L-1 I- . The addition of Br and I- positively affected the EC, which decreased from 2514 kW·h·t-1 to approximately 2300 kW·h·t-1. The results of anodic polarization measurements showed that the voltage drops were 130 and 510 mV when the concentrations of Br- and I- were 10 g·L-1 at a eUlTent density of 400 A·m2, respectively. SEM images showed that the addition of Br- and I- caused different crystal growth mechanisms, which resulted in the production of compact and smooth zinc deposits. The anodic reactions of I were also studied.

Based on the effects of driving resistance on car movement,we develop a new car-following *** simulation results show that our model can describe the kinetic property of each car during the processes of starting and braking,however the braking process will be postponed and a prominent wavefront will appear during the braking *** the increase in driving resistance,a car's movement will become more stable during the whole process,the headway of each car will increase and the wavefront will become more *** addition,our model can reproduce the evolution of a small perturbation.

Influenza A virus （IAV） infects the respiratory tract in humans and causes significant morbidity and mortality worldwide each year. Aggressive inflammation, known as a cytokine storm, is thought to cause most of the damage in the lungs during IAV infection. Dysfunctional coagulation is a common complication in pathogenic influenza, manifested by lung endothelial activation, vascular leak, disseminated intravascular coagulation and pulmonary microembolism. Importantly, emerging evidence shows that an uncontrolled coagulation system, including both the cellular （endothelial cells and platelets） and protein （coagulation factors, anticoagulants and fibrinolysis proteases） components, contributes to the pathogenesis of influenza by augmenting viral replication and immune pathogenesis. In this review, we focus on the underlying mechanisms of the dysfunctional coagulatory response in the Dathogenesis of IAV.

With the accelerated construction of new power systems, the Virtual Power Plant (VPP), a key component of the new energy framework, provides critical support for safe supply, energy conservation, and emission reduction for power systems. However, the increasingly diverse technological forms and application scenarios of VPPs present challenges for standardization in large-scale development. A timely summary and generalization of VPP development principles, construction pathways, and technical practices can promote technical synergy and drive industry growth. This paper takes the VPP in a megacity as a typical use case. It thoroughly discusses the top-level design of the VPP by reviewing and analyzing four perspectives of form, policy, market, and standards. Secondly, this paper examines a multi-spatiotemporal regulation technology system for VPPs from three dimensions precise response, regional coordination, and fast regulation, which supports the normalized operation of Shanghai’s VPP. Then, this paper introduces the large-scale demonstration outcomes of Shanghai’s VPP, offering a valuable reference for development constructions and innovative practices of VPPs at the megacity scale. Finally, by analyzing the construction and operational outlook of Shanghai's VPP, this paper distills a clear pathway for its future development. © 2025 Power System Technology Press. Primary gastric signet ring cell carcinoma presenting as cardiac tamponade is difficult to diagnosis early. Patients are generally asymptomatic until the disease is advanced. General practitioners usually focus on the initial symptoms related to pericarditis and pericardial effusion. We report a case of signet-ring cell carcinoma of the stomach presenting as cardiac tamponade with pericarditis and pericardial effusion but without any gastrointestinal symptoms. A 49-year old woman was admitted because of progressive dyspnea and cough. Chest X-ray revealed an increased cardiothoracic ratio and a small amount of bilateral pleural effusion. Two dimensional ultrasonographic echocardiography pericardial effusions with atrial and right ventricular early diastolic collapse were found, establishing the diagnosis of cardiac tamponade. Pericardiocentesis was performed and 420 mL of bloody ?uid was taken. The patient died of respiratory failure and cardiac arrest on October 28, 2009. Post-mortem examination revealed diffuse gastric mucosa erosion and edema with stomach mucosa incrassation in the greater curvature. The primary lesion was histopathologically diagnosed as signet-ring cell carcinoma of the stomach.

Coral reefs have high primary productivity and are one of the most important ecosystems in the ocean. However, the health and stability of coral reefs are constantly threatened by climate change and human activities. The coral holobiont is a complex symbiosis between the coral animal, zooxanthellae, and the associated community of microorganisms including bacteria, archaea, viruses, etc. Coral-associated microorganisms are found to be important for the maintenance of coral health,and they are proposed to contribute to the acclimatization and adaptation of reef-building corals under rapid climate change. The coral-microbe interaction mediated by chemical signalling molecules is an important driving force for shaping the microbial communities. Herein, we summarize our current knowledge of the chemical signalling molecules involved in the interaction of the coral holobiont. Specifically, the cooperation and competition among microbes mediated by N-acyl homoserine lactones(AHLs), the interrelationship between microbes and hosts mediated by dimethylsulfoniopropionate(DMSP) and nitric oxide(NO), and the response of corals and microorganisms to reactive oxygen species(ROS) under environmental stresses are highlighted in this review. We further discuss the potential of manipulating the coral microbiome using signalling molecules to restore and protect coral reefs.
