Propagating subduction initiation of the Caroline Plate at the Mussau Trench

New seismic imaging from the Mussau Trench confirms that, under horizontal compression on an oceanic plate boundary, it is within the young and weak oceanic plate that a trench will develop, and it is the young plate, not so long after its birth, that starts to subduct toward the old plate. The Mesozoic Pacific Plate cannot easily bend, under the joint horizontal compression and vertical gravity pull, even with a pre-existing weak zone in place and with a large age offset across the plate boundary. The bending of the Caroline Plate near the northern end of the Mussau Trench started only after a long-time span of trench migration, and/or after a prolonged transition from initial compression to trench development. Highly contrasting trench deformation and sedimentary accretion between two parallel seismic sections support an evident migration of underthrusting or significant longitudinal heterogeneity along the trench. The swift transition from underthrusting to non-thrusting can be explained by a counter-clockwise rotation of the Caroline Plate. That miniature accretionary wedges develop even before the subduction initiates imply strong compression and uplifting before the underthrusting can kick-start. Rotation of the Caroline Plate have been halted as the Mussau Trench is seismically rather quiet and the Lyra Trough to the east shows relaxational extension.

Life-Cycle Bearing Capacity for Pre-Stressed T-beams Based on Full-Scale Destructive Test

To investigate the evolution of load-bearing characteristics of pre-stressed beams throughout their service life and to provide a basis for accurately assessing the actual working state of damaged pre-stressed concrete T-beams,destructive tests were conducted on full-scale pre-stressed concrete *** on the measurement and ana-lysis of beam deﬂection,strain,and crack development under various loading levels during the research tests,combined with the veriﬁcation coefﬁcient indicators speciﬁed in the codes,the veriﬁcation coefﬁcients of bridges at different stages of damage can be *** results indicate that the T-beams experience complete,incom-plete linear,and non-linear stages during the destructive test *** the complete linear elastic stage,both the deﬂection and bottom strain veriﬁcation coefﬁcients comply with the speciﬁcations,indicating a good structural load-bearing capacity no longer adheres to the code’s *** the non-linear stage,both coefﬁcients exhi-bit a sharp increase,resulting in a further decrease in the structure’s load-bearing *** to the pro-visions of the current code,the beam can be in the incomplete linear stage when both values fall within the code’s speciﬁed *** strain veriﬁcation coefﬁcient sourced from the compression zone at the bottom of theﬂange is not recommended for assessing the bridge’s load-bearing capacity.

High-entropy materials represent a new category of high-performance materials,first proposed in 2004 and extensively investigated by researchers over the past two *** definition of high-entropy materials has continuously *** the last ten years,the discovery of an increasing number of high-entropy materials has led to significant advancements in their utilization in energy storage,electrocatalysis,and related domains,accompanied by a rise in techniques for fabricating high-entropy electrode ***,the research emphasis has shifted from solely improving the performance of high-entropy materials toward exploring their reaction mechanisms and adopting cleaner preparation ***,the current definition of high-entropy materials remains relatively vague,and the preparation method of high-entropy materials is based on the preparation method of single metal/low-or medium-entropy *** should be noted that not all methods applicable to single metal/low-or medium-entropy materials can be directly applied to high-entropy *** this review,the definition and development of high-entropy materials are briefly ***,the classification of high-entropy electrode materials is presented,followed by a discussion of their applications in energy storage and catalysis from the perspective of synthesis ***,an evaluation of the advantages and disadvantages of various synthesis methods in the production process of different high-entropy materials is provided,along with a proposal for potential future development directions for high-entropy materials.

Transcatheter closure of ventricular septal defect in patients with aortic valve prolapse and mild aortic regurgitation:feasibility and preliminary outcome

Objective:To evaluate the feasibility,safety and efficacy of transcathcter closure of ventricular septal defect(VSD)in patients with aortic valve prolapse(AVP)and mild aortic regurgitation(AR).Methods:Between January 2008 and July 2014,transcatheter closure of VSD was attempted in 65 ***:The total intermediate closure successful rate in all subjects was 96.9%.During the perioperative period,no death,major bleeding,pericardial tamponade,occluder dislodgement,residual shunt or hemolysis *** procedures had been forced to suspend due to significant aggregation of device related aortic regurgitation,three cases of transient complete left bundle branch block occurred but did not *** 1-year followup,no patients had residual shunts and ***,grade of residual AR were relieved in 61.9%(39/63)cases and degree of AVP were ameliorated in 36.5%(23/63)patients;Conclusions:Transcatheter closure VSD in selected patients with AVP and mild AR is technically feasible and highly *** term safety and efficacy needs to be assessed.

Wideband high gain millimeter wave antenna based on wavy power divider for millimeter wave radar sensor

In this paper， a broadband high gain millimeter wave radar array antenna based on a wavy power divider is proposed. The radar antenna comprises a wavy power divider and a 10-element array antenna. By adjusting the wavy radius of the power divider， the surface current of the power divider is altered， resulting in better impedance matching with the antenna. This ultimately leads to a significant improvement in bandwidth performance. The 410 millimeter wave radar antenna loaded with wavy power divider exhibits an approximate enhancement of 3 GHz compared to traditional microstrip power divider antennas， and an average gain increase of 2.42 dB within the vehicle millimeter wave radar frequency band relative to the improved gradient power divider structure. The 410 millimeter wave radar antenna loaded with wavy power divider possesses the characteristics of high gain and broad bandwidth.

Plasmonic tandem heterojunctions enable high-efficiency charge transfer for broad spectrum photocatalytic hydrogen production

Rational engineering of semiconductor photocatalysts for efficient hydrogen production is of great significance but still challenging,primarily due to the limitations in charge transfer ***,a fascinating plasmonic tandem heterojunction with the hc-CdS/Mo2C@C heterostructure is aimfully prepared for effectively promoting the charge separation kinetics of the CdS photocatalyst via the synergistic strategy of phase junction,Schottky junction,and photothermal *** difference in atomic configuration between cubic-CdS （c-CdS） and hexagonal-CdS （h-CdS） leads to effective charge separation through a typical Ⅱ charge transfer mechanism,and plasmonic Schottky junction further extracts the electrons in the hc-CdS phase junction to realize gradient charge ***,the photothermal effect of Mo2C@C helps to expand the light absorption,accelerate charge transfer kinetics,and reduce the hydrogen evolution energy *** carbon layer provides a fast channel for charge transfer and protects the photocatalyst from *** a result,the optimized hc-CMC photocatalyst exhibits a significantly high photocatalytic H2production activity of 28.63 mmol/g/h and apparent quantum efficiency of 61.8%,surpassing most of the reported *** study provides a feasible strategy to enhance the charge transfer kinetics and photocatalytic activity of CdS by constructing plasmonic tandem heterogeneous junctions.

为建立一种能快速检测奶牛乳房炎主要病原菌(大肠埃希氏菌、无乳链球菌、肺炎克雷伯氏菌、金黄色葡萄球菌和肠炎沙门氏菌)的多重PCR检测方法,根据大肠埃希氏菌phoA基因、无乳链球菌ef-tu基因、肺炎克雷伯氏菌Khe基因、金黄色葡萄球菌Nuc基因和肠炎沙门氏菌invA基因设计特异性引物,优化PCR反应体系与反应程序并进行特异性试验,同时分别构建含病原菌基因的pMD-19T重组质粒进行灵敏性试验。结果显示,多重PCR反应的最适引物工作浓度为0.8μmol/L,最适退火温度为59.6℃,最佳延伸时间为40 s,最合适的循环数为30次;优化后的多重PCR反应体系可扩增出5种目标病原菌的特异性条带;5种病原菌PCR检测灵敏度可达到5 copies/μL。进一步利用该多重PCR反应体系对采集的108份乳房炎乳样进行检测,检测结果显示,108份样本的阳性检出率为77.8%,大肠埃希氏菌、无乳链球菌、金黄色葡萄球菌、肺炎克雷伯氏菌和肠炎沙门氏菌的检出率分别为23.1%、8.3%、34.3%、8.3%、5.6%。结果表明,建立了一种具有良好特异性和灵敏性的多重PCR检测方法,在临床生产实践中可用于快速鉴定奶牛乳房炎的致病菌,为奶牛乳房炎的诊断、防控与流行病学调查提供了方法基础。

Texture and inhibitor features of grain-oriented pure iron produced by different cold-rolling processes

To promote the manufacture of grain-oriented pure iron, the texture and inhibitor features of two samples A and B produced by different cold-rolling processes were studied by optical microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and transmission electron microscopy. The results showed that a higher content of inhibitor elements directly resulted in a greater number of fine inhibitors, which exhibited strong inhibitory ability, leading to more fine precipitates of appropriate size effectively inhibiting the growth of primary grains in decarburized bands （sheets） during the single-stage cold-rolling process. The formation of the component with { 110}〈001〉 Goss orientation was greatly suppressed in the stage of primary recrystallization, and this component could hardly be observed in the decarburized band; by contrast, the {411 }〈148〉-oriented grains grew. During the process of high-temperature annealing, abnormal growth occurred and secondary recrystallized grains （Goss orientation） merged with other matrix grains such as { 111 }〈112〉 and {411 }〈148〉. The magnetic induction of samples A and B at 800 Aim was 1.939 T and 1.996 T, respectively.

Effect of decarburization annealing temperature and time on the carbon content, microstructure, and texture of grain-oriented pure iron

In this study,the effect of decarburization annealing temperature and time on the carbon content,microstructure,and texture of grain-oriented pure iron was investigated by optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy with electron-backscatter diffraction. The results showed that the efficiency of decarburization dramatically increased with increasing decarburization temperature. However,when the annealing temperature was increased to 825°C and 850°C,the steel's carbon content remained essentially unchanged at 0.002%. With increasing decarburization time,the steel's carbon content generally decreased. When both the decarburization temperature and time were increased further,the average grain size dramatically increased and the number of fine grains decreased; meanwhile,some relatively larger grains developed. The main texture types of the decarburized sheets were approximately the same: {001} and {112~115},with a γ-fiber texture. Furthermore,little change was observed in the texture. Compared with the experimental sheets,the texture of the cold-rolled sheet was very scattered. The best average magnetic induction(B_(800)) among the final products was 1.946 T.
