Four different structural models of artificial joints were developed and the finite element method （FEM） was employed to investigate their mechanical characteristics under static and dynamic conditions. The materials used in the FEM calculation were ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene （UHMWPE）, 316L stainless steel, CoCrMo alloy and Ti6A14V alloy. The stress distribution, strain, and elastic deformation under static and dynamic conditions were obtained. Analysis and comparison of the ~alculation results of different models were conducted. It is shown that with the same parameters the model of a metallic femur head covered with an artificial cartilage layer is more similar to the structure of the natural human joint and its mechanical characteristics are the best of the four models.

The problem of indirect adaptive fuzzy and impulsive control for a class of nonlinear systems is investigated. Based on the approximation capability of fuzzy systems, a novel adaptive fuzzy and impulsive control strategy with supervisory controller is developed. With the help of a supervisory controller, global stability of the resulting closed-loop system is established in the sense that all signals involved are uniformly bounded. Furthermore, the adaptive compensation term of the upper bound function of the sum of residual and approximation error is adopted to reduce the effects of modeling error. By the generalized Barbalat＇s lemma, the tracking error between the output of the system and the reference signal is proved to be convergent to zero Asymptotically. Simulation results illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

This study focuses on CO_(2) capture by pressure swing adsorption(PSA),with modified clinoptilolite as the *** clinoptilolite is modified by roasting,by acid pickling,by a combination of acid pickling and roasting,and by ion *** by acid pickling-roasting and by ion exchange are found to give the highest CO_(2) adsorption capacities,of 730 mL/g and 876.7 mL/g,*** is found that regeneration of clinoptilolite by a combination of vacuum desorption and heating enables recovery of as much as 89%of its previous CO_(2) adsorption *** examine the CO_(2) adsorption capacity of clinoptilolite when applied to mixed gas,a simulated coking exhaust containing 12%CO_(2) and 4%O_(2) is used,and it is found that ion exchange modified clinoptilolite achieves a CO_(2) removal efficiency of 92.5%.A BET test reveals that acid pickling-roasting and Na^(+) modification enhance the porosity of clinoptilolite,thereby improving its adsorption *** work demonstrates the feasibility of applying modified clinoptilolite as an effective adsorbent for COO_(2)capture,providing a promising tool for dealing with greenhouse gases.

The stable switching phenomenon of a diffusion mussel-algae system with two delays and half saturation constant is studied. The stability of positive equilibrium and the existence of Hopf bifurcation on two-delay plane are investigated by calculating the stability switching curves. The normal form on the central manifold near Hopf bifurcation point is also derived. It can find that two different delays can induce the stable switches which cannot occur with the same delays. Through numerical simulations, the region of complete stability of system increases with the increase of half-saturation constant, indicating that the half-saturation constant contributes to the stability of system. In addition, double Hopf bifurcations may occur due to the intersection of bifurcation curves. These results show that two different delay and half-saturation constant have important effects on the system. The numerical simulation results validate the correctness of the theoretical analyses.

AIM： To evaluate the therapeutic effect of fluorofenidone on disrupted blood-retinal barrier in the diabetic mice and uncover its underlying mechanism. METHODS： db/db mice were randomly chosen for treatment with daily doses of fluorofenidone or placebo at 5-week-old, treatment continued until mice reach 24-week- old. Then, expression of transcriptiona factor insulin gene enhancer binding protein-1 （Islet-I） and vascular endothelial growth factor （VEGF） in murine retinas were evaluated. Retinal vascular permeability was assessed by examining the level of albumin in db/db murine retinas. Furthermore, the retinal vessel tight junction was estimated by checking the level of occludin in the murine retinal tissues. RESULTS： After occurrence of diabetic retinopthy in db/ db mice, expressions of transcritpional factor Islet-1 was found to be upregulated in db/db murine retinas compared with non-diabetic controls. Similar to expression pattern of Islet-l, VEGF were also demonstrated to be increased in retinas of db/db mice, which was accompanied by increased retinal vascular leakage and decreased tight junction protein level. Systemetic administration of fluorofenidone repaired broken retinal vascular tight junction by restoring occludin expression in db/db retinal tissue. Consequently, retinal vascular premeability were indicated to be reduced by examining the transudative albumin level in diabetic retinal tissues. both Islet-1 and VEGF expression were inhibited in the retinas of db/db mice after treatment with fluorofenidone. CONCLUSION： Fluorofenidone significantly protectes retinal tight junction and reduces retinal vascular leakage. The phenomenon can be partially attributed to reducing overexpression of Islet-1 and VEGF in diabetic retinal tissues.

Microorganisms are crucial in the bioremediation of organophosphorus pesticides. However, most functional microorganisms (> 99%) are yet to be cultivated. This study applied two cultivation-independent approaches, DNA-SIP and magnetic-nanoparticle mediated isolation (MMI), to identify the functional microorganisms in degrading dimethoate in agricultural soils. MMI identified five dimethoate degraders: Pseudomonas, Bacillus, Ramlibacter, Arthrobacter, and Rhodococcus, whereas DNA-SIP identified three dimethoate degraders: Ramlibacter, Arthrobacter, and Rhodococcus. Also, MMI showed higher resolution than DNA-SIP in identifying functional microorganisms. Two organic phosphohydrolase (OPH) genes: ophC2 and ophB, were involved in dimethoate metabolism, as revealed by DNA-SIP and MMI. The degradation products of dimethoate include omethoate, O,O,S-trimethyl thiophosphorothioate, N-methyl-2-sulfanylacetamide, O,O-diethyl S-hydrogen phosphorodithioate, O,O,O-trimethyl thiophosphate, O,O,S-trimethyl thiophosphorodithioate, and O,O,O-trimethyl phosphoric. This study emphasizes the feasibility of using SIP and MMI to explore the functional dimethoate degraders, expanding our knowledge of microbial resources with cultivation-independent approaches.
