Proppant transport in rough fracture networks using supercritical CO_(2)

Proppant transport within fractures is one of the most critical tasks in oil,gas and geothermal reservoir stimulation,as it largely determines the ultimate performance of the operating *** transport in rough fracture networks is still a relatively new area of research and the associated transport mechanisms are still *** this study,representative parameters of rough fracture surfaces formed by supercritical CO_(2) fracturing were used to generate a rough fracture network model based on a spectral synthesis *** fluid dynamics(CFD)coupled with the discrete element method(DEM)was used to study proppant transport in this rough fracture *** reveal the turning transport mechanism of proppants into branching fractures at the intersections of rough fracture networks,a comparison was made with the behavior within smooth fracture networks,and the effect of key pumping parameters on the proppant placement in a secondary fracture was *** results show that the transport behavior of proppant in rough fracture networks is very different from that of the one in the smooth fracture *** turning transport mechanisms of proppant into secondary fractures in rough fracture networks are gravity-driven sliding,high velocity fluid suspension,and fracture structure *** the same injection conditions,supercritical CO_(2)with high flow Reynolds number still has a weaker ability to transport proppant into secondary fractures than *** of the supercritical CO_(2)needs to be increased beyond a certain value to have a significant effect on proppant carrying,and under the temperature and pressure conditions of this paper,it needs to be increased more than 20 times(about 0.94 m Pa s).Increasing the injection velocity and decreasing the proppant concentration facilitates the entry of proppant into the branching fractures,which in turn results in a larger stimulated reservoir *** results help to understand the pro

High-order Soliton Matrix for the Third-order Flow Equation of the Gerdjikov-Ivanov Hierarchy Through the Riemann-Hilbert Method

The Gerdjikov-Ivanov(GI)hierarchy is derived via recursion operator,in this article,we mainly investigate the third-order flow GI *** the framework of the Riemann-Hilbert method,the soliton matrices of the third-order flow GI equation with simple zeros and elementary high-order zeros of Riemann-Hilbert problem are constructed through the standard dressing *** advantage of this result,some properties and asymptotic analysis of single soliton solution and two soliton solution are discussed,and the simple elastic interaction of two soliton are *** with soliton solution of the classical second-order flow,we find that the higher-order dispersion term affects the propagation velocity,propagation direction and amplitude of the ***,by means of a certain limit technique,the high-order soliton solution matrix for the third-order flow GI equation is derived.

Partial Collapsing Degeneration of Floer Trajectories and Adiabatic Gluing

In the present paper,we study partial collapsing degeneration of Hamiltonian-perturbed Floer trajectories for an adiabatic ε-family and its reversal adiabatic gluing,as the prototype of the partial collapsing degeneration of 2-dimensional(perturbed)J-holomorphic maps to 1-dimensional gradient *** consider the case when the Floer equations are S^(1)-invariant on parts of their domains whose adiabatic limit has positive length as ε→0,which we call thimble-flow-thimble *** main gluing theorem we prove also applies to the case with Lagrangian boundaries such as in the problem of recovering holomorphic disks out of pearly *** particular,our gluing theorem gives rise to a new direct proof of the chain isomorphism property between the Morse-Bott version of Lagrangian intersection Floer complex of L by Fukaya-Oh-Ohta-Ono and the pearly complex of L Lalonde and *** also provides another proof of the present authors’earlier proof of the isomorphism property of the PSS map without involving the target rescaling and the scale-dependent gluing.

First-Stokes Wavelengths at 1175.8 and 1177.1 nm Generated in a Diode End-Pumped Nd:YVO_4/LuVO_4 Raman Laser

A diode end-pumped acousto-optic Q-switched Nd:YVO_4/LuVO_4 Raman laser is demonstrated. Both YVO_4 and LuVO_4 can work as Raman gain, and slightly different active vibration modes of both crystals can result in different first-Stokes wavelengths. The output characteristic as the Raman competition between YVO_4 and LuVO_4 crystals for the laser systems with both shared cavity and coupled cavity is experimentally *** the shared cavity, simultaneous Raman conversion in both YVO_4 and LuVO_4 crystals is achieved with dualwavelength emission at 1175.8 and 1177.1 nm. The maximum output power of 1.03 W and the conversion efficiency of 10.3% are obtained. The 0.84 W single first Stokes wavelength at 1177.1 nm with LuVO_4 Raman conversion is achieved with the coupled cavity. The results show that the coupled cavity with short Raman cavity can obtain a narrow pulse width. The separated laser crystal and Raman gain media with different vanadates in shared cavity have advantages in achieving dual-wavelength lasers with small frequency intervals.

Sparse Modal Decomposition Method Addressing Underdetermined Vortex-Induced Vibration Reconstruction Problem for Marine Risers

When investigating the vortex-induced vibration(VIV)of marine risers,extrapolating the dynamic response on the entire length based on limited sensor measurements is a crucial step in both laboratory experiments and fatigue monitoring of real *** problem is conventionally solved using the modal decomposition method,based on the principle that the response can be approximated by a weighted sum of limited vibration ***,the method is not valid when the problem is underdetermined,i.e.,the number of unknown mode weights is more than the number of known *** study proposed a sparse modal decomposition method based on the compressed sensing theory and the Compressive Sampling Matching Pursuit(Co Sa MP)algorithm,exploiting the sparsity of VIV in the modal *** the validation study based on high-order VIV experiment data,the proposed method successfully reconstructed the response using only seven acceleration measurements when the conventional methods failed.A primary advantage of the proposed method is that it offers a completely data-driven approach for the underdetermined VIV reconstruction problem,which is more favorable than existing model-dependent solutions for many practical applications such as riser structural health monitoring.

Ferromagnetism and insulating behavior with a logarithmic temperature dependence of resistivity in Pb_(10-x)Cux(PO_(4))_(6)O

Recent claim of discovering above-room-temperature superconductivity(Tc≈400 K)at ambient pressure in copper doped apatite Pb10(PO_(4))_(6)O has stimulated world-wide enthusiasm and impulse of motion.A lot of follow-up works have been carried out with controversial *** check whether superconductivity is really present or absent in the material,we need samples which should have a rather pure phase of Pb_(10-x)Cux(PO_(4))_(6)*** we report the characterization results from the Pb_(10-x)Cux(PO_(4))_(6)O with a fraction of about 97 wt.%inferred from the fitting to the X-ray diffraction pattern,if assuming Cu2S as the only *** resistivity measurements show that it is a semiconductor characterized roughly by a ln(1/T)temperature dependence in wide temperature region without trace of *** measurements show that it has a general ferromagnetic signal with a weak superparamagnetic *** grains of the sample show clear interactions with a Nb Fe B *** detected Cu concentration is much lower than the expected nominal *** results show the absence of metallicity and superconductivity in Pb_(10-x)Cux(PO_(4))_(6)O at ambient pressure,and suggest the presence of strong correlation effect.

UAV-assisted cooperative offloading energy efficiency system for mobile edge computing

Reliable communication and intensive computing power cannot be provided effectively by temporary hot spots in disaster areas and complex terrain ground *** this has greatly developed the application and integration of UAV and Mobile Edge Computing(MEC)to the Internet of Things(loT).However,problems such as multi-user and huge data flow in large areas,which contradict the reality that a single UAV is constrained by limited computing power,still *** to allowing UAV collaboration to accomplish complex tasks,cooperative task offloading between multiple UAVs must meet the interdependence of tasks and realize parallel processing,which reduces the computing power consumption and endurance pressure of *** the computing requirements of the user terminal,delay constraint of a computing task,energy constraint,and safe distance of UAV,we constructed a UAV-Assisted cooperative offloading energy efficiency system for mobile edge computing to minimize user terminal energy ***,the resulting optimization problem is originally nonconvex and thus,difficult to solve *** tackle this problem,we developed an energy efficiency optimization algorithm using Block Coordinate Descent(BCD)that decomposes the problem into three convex ***,we jointly optimized the number of local computing tasks,number of computing offloaded tasks,trajectories of UAV,and offloading matching relationship between multi-UAVs and multiuser *** results show that the proposed approach is suitable for different channel conditions and significantly saves the user terminal energy consumption compared with other benchmark schemes.

Boosting ammonia production in electrocatalytic NO_(x)reduction on a robust Fe/FeMoO_(4)catalyst

Electrocatalytic reduction of nitrate(NO_(3)^(−))and nitride(NO_(2)^(−))to ammonia(NH3)is of wide interest as a promising alternative to the energy-intensive Haber-Bosch route for mitigating the vast energy consumption and the accompanied carbon dioxide emission,as well as benefiting for the relevant sewage ***,exploring an efficient and low-cost catalyst with high atomic utilization that can effectively facilitate the slow multi-electron transfer process remains a grand ***,we present an efficient hydrogenation of NO_(3)^(−)/NO_(2)^(−)species to NH3 in both alkaline and neutral environments over the Fe_(2)(MoO_(4))_(3)derived hybrid electrocatalyst with the metallic Fe site on FeMoO_(4)(Fe/FeMoO_(4)).The Mo ingredient can play a synergistically positive role in further promoting the NH_(3) production on *** a result,Fe/FeMoO_(4)behaves well in the electrochemical NH_(3) generation from NO_(2)^(−)with a maximum NH_(3) Faradaic efficiency(FE)of 96.53%and 87.68%in alkaline and neutral electrolyte,corresponding to the NH_(3) yield rate of 640.68 and 302.56 mg·h^(−1)·mg_(cat.)^(−1),respectively,which outperforms the Fe and Mo counterpart and other similar catalyst,showing the robust catalytic capacity of each active site.

Synergistic catalysis of the N-hydroxyphthalimide on flower-like bimetallic metal-organic frameworks for boosting oxidative desulfurization

Synergic catalytic effect between active sites and supports greatly determines the catalytic activity for the aerobic oxidative desulfurization of fuel *** this work,Ni-doped Co-based bimetallic metal-organic framework(CoNi-MOF)is fabricated to disperse N-hydroxyphthalimide(NHPI),in which the whole catalyst provides plentiful synergic catalytic effect to improve the performance of oxidative desulfurization(ODS).As a bimetallic MOF,the second metal Ni doping results in the flower-like morphology and the modification of electronic properties,which ensure the exposure of NHPI and strengthen the synergistic effect of the overall *** with the monometallic Co-MOF and naked NHPI,the NHPI@CoNi-MOF triggers the efficient activation of molecular oxygen and improves the ODS performance without an *** sulfur removal of dibenzothiophene-based model oil reaches 96.4%over the NHPI@CoNi-MOF catalyst in 8 h of ***,the catalytic product of this aerobic ODS reaction is sulfone,which is adsorbed on the catalyst surface due to the difference in *** work provides new insight and strategy for the design of a strong synergic catalytic effect between NHPI and bimetallic supports toward high-activity aerobic ODS materials.

Characterizing extreme drought and wetness in Guangdong,China using global navigation satellite system and precipitation data

As global temperature rises,the frequency of extreme climate events,e.g.,severe droughts and floods,has increased significantly and caused severe damage over the past *** this regard,precipitation efficiency,a crucial meteorological parameter,could provide valuable insights for a better understanding of the patterns and characteristics of these extreme *** this study,taking Guangdong province as an exemplary region,we first obtained long-term and high-resolution historical records of precipitation efficiency by integrating the observations from a dense network of Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS)stations with precipitation data,and then characterized the extreme drought and wetness through climate *** found a distinct seasonal trend in precipitation efficiency in Guangdong,with annual fluctuations ranging from 10 to 25%.Notably,precipitation efficiency is higher in proximity to the Pearl River Delta Plain and gradually decreases towards the east and *** occurrence of anomalous peaks and valleys in precipitation efficiency generally corresponds to dry and wet conditions,respectively.A total of 9 extreme wet events and 6 dry events occurred from January 2007 to May 2022,with durations from 3 to 6 *** results also demonstrated that both wet and dry frequencies exhibit an increasing trend with the expansion of the time scale,and the frequency of extreme events near the Pearl River Delta Plain surpasses that of other ***,the propagation time from meteorological anomalies to agricultural and hydrological anomalies is about 3 *** periodic characteristics of meteorological anomalies are identified as the primary driver for other anomalous periodic *** work unveils the long-term dynamic behavior of precipitation efficiency,as well as the characteristics of extreme drought and wetness events in the regions characterized by intricate land–atmosphere interactions.
