Calix[n]arenes was utilized to detect PABA,the primary sunscreen *** study investigates the interaction of calix[4]arene(C4),calix[6]arene(C6),and PABA using the l.ngmuir method and first-principle density functional theory(DFT).Using the l.ngmuir-Schaefer(lS)technique,an ultrathin film composed of calix[n]arenes and their complexes with PABA was deposited on various *** on the l.ngmuir study,the PABA molecule was bonded to the lower rims of both C4 and C6 with the host-guest ratio of 1:*** of the lS films formed were then characterized by ultravioletvisible spectroscopy(UV-Vis),Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)and carbon,hydrogen,nitrogen,sulfur elemental analyzer(CHnS).The band gap reduction obtained in the DFT study denotes the charge transfer interaction with promising reactivity between the calix[n]arenes and *** sensing of PABA by C4 and C6 is successful based on the formation of bonding between them due to the hosts’effective trapping *** outcomes of this study could be applied to drug delivery systems for future pharmaceutical and medical applications.

In this work,a conventional HfO_(2) gate dielectric layer is replaced with a 3-nm ferroelectric(Fe) HZO layer in the gate stacks of advanced fin field-effect transistors(FinFETs).Fe-induced characteristics,e.g.,negative drain induced barrier lowering(n-DIBl) and negative differential resistance(nDR),are clearly observed for both p-and n-type HZO-based *** characteristics are attributed to the enhanced ferroelectricity of the 3-nm hafnium zirconium oxide(HZO) film,caused by Al doping from the TiAlC capping *** mechanism is verified for capacitors with structures similar to the *** to the enhanced ferroelectricity and n-DIBl phenomenon,the drain current(I_(DS))of the HZO-FinFETs is greater than that of HfO_(2)-FinFETs and obtained at a lower operating ***,circuits based on HZO-FinFET achieve higher performance than those based on HfO_(2)-FinFET at a low voltage drain(V_(DD)),which indicates the application feasibility of the HZO-FinFETs in the ultralow power integrated circuits.

The continually-discovered large volumes of marine hydrocarbons indicate a huge exploration potential within the carbonate rocks of Ordovician in the Tarim Basin,northwestern *** Middle-Upper Ordovician(O2+3)carbonate source rocks are at a highly mature *** rocks presently contain a low amount of total organic carbon(TOC_(pd)≤0.5%)(TOC_(pd) means the present-day TOC).A mass bal.nce approach is used to identify the source rocks that have expelled *** characteristics and origin of hydrocarbon expulsion from low-TOC_(pd) source rocks are studied,which are significant for oil exploration in the *** results showed that a low-TOC_(pd) O2+3 source rock having expelled hydrocarbons was type I and had a very narrow oil *** a high rock maturity and a high original TOC(TOCo)value exceeding 1%,nearly 80%of the generated hydrocarbons were *** content of gammacerane and C28 steranes in the oil and source rock extracts were relatively lean,with a V-shaped distribution of regular steranes,suggesting a possible genetic relation between the low-TOC_(pd) source rocks and the marine oil in the Tabei *** pl.nktonic algae or acritarchs were the main hydrocarbon parent materials,distributed in the subsiding platform-slope *** matter was preserved under reducing conditions,and source rocks were formed with a favorable kerogen type and a moderate hydrocarbon generation *** study illustrates the hydrocarbon expulsion of low TOC_(pd) source rocks in northern Tarim Basin,which is greatly significant for analyzing the genesis of marine crude oil in Tarim Basin,and evaluating the distribution of marine source *** research method is theoretically significant for oil and gas exploration in the same type of highlymature carbonate paleobasins.

Conventional mining of economically and strategically important critical rare earth elements(REEs)(such as neodymium,l.nthanum and dysprosium),and chalcogens(such as sel.nium and tellurium)are associated with a huge economic and environmental ***,the need to recover REEs as well as chalcogens from different waste streams including wastewaters is becoming *** assays on synthetic chalcogen/REE-laden wastewater showed that the presence of REEs significantly improved the tellurite removal rate(>80%)and enhanced sel.nate removal by 66%±10%.Three 3.9 l continuous upflow anaerobic granular sludge bed(UASB)reactors were operated at a hydraulic retention time of 24 h and 30℃.Sel.nate reduction was achieved with a removal efficiency of~98% with an influent p H of 4.0 for more than 28 *** effect of REEs on tellurite removal in the UASB bioreactor could not be clearly established since a soluble tellurium removal efficiency of more than 98%was observed already before the addition of REEs at elevated tellurite *** complete REE removal in both batch assays and UASB reactors at higher pH(7.0±0.5)was attributed to precipitation,whereas chalcogen oxyanions removal was due to microbial ***,at acidic p H,biosorption was responsible for REE's removal,and the Se-enriched sludge exhibited a superior REE's removal efficiency than the non-enriched and Te-enriched sludge.

A new COX1 primer for soil.nematode metabarcoding was designed,and this primer outperforms other commonly used COX1 primer pairs in species recovery and quantity of PCR products.•The lack of reference database is the main reason that led to the low species recovery in COX1 metabarcoding.•We expanded current nCBI database by adding 51 newly generated COX1 reference *** nematodes play important roles in soil ecosystems and often serve as bioindicators of soil *** identification of soil.nematodes is often difficult due to their limited diagnostic characters and high phenotypic *** barcoding and metabarcoding techniques are promising but lack universal primers,especially for mitochondrial COX1 *** this study a degenerated COX1 forward primer COIFGED was *** primer pair(COIFGED/JB5GED)outperforms other four commonly used COX1 primer pairs in species recovery and quantity of polymerase chain reaction(PCR)*** metabarcoding analysis,the reads obtained from the new primer pair had the highest sequencing saturation threshold and amplicon sequence variant(ASV)diversity in comparison to other COX1 as well as 18S rRnA *** annotation of ASVs suggested the new primer pair initially recovered 9 and 6 out of 25 genera from mock communities,respectively,outperformed other COX1 primers,but underperformed the widely used 18S nF1/18Sr2b primers(16 out of 25 genera).By supplementing the COX1 database with our reference sequences,we recovered an additional 6 mock community species bringing the tally closer to that obtained with 18S *** summary,our newly designed COX1 primers significantly improved species recovery and thus can be supplementary or alternative to the conventional 18S metabarcoding.

The problem of prescribed performance tracking control for unknown time-delay nonl.near systems subject to output constraints is dealt with in this paper. In contrast with related works, only the most fundamental requirements, i.e., boundedness and the local lipschitz condition, are assumed for the allowable time delays. Moreover, we focus on the case where the reference is unknown beforehand, which renders the standard prescribed performance control designs under output constraints infeasible. To conquer these chall.nges, a novel robust prescribed performance control approach is put forward in this ***, a reverse tuning function is skillfully constructed and automatically generates a performance envelop for the tracking error. In addition, a unified performance analysis framework based on proof by contradiction and the barrier function is established to reveal the inherent robustness of the control system against the time delays. It turns out that the system output tracks the reference with a preassigned settl.ng time and good accuracy,without constraint violations. A comparative simulation on a two-stage chemical reactor is carried out to illustrate the above theoretical findings.
