In this editorial,we comment on an article by Ruan et al published in a recent issue of the World Journal of Clinical Case.Pulmonary meningothelial proliferative lesions,including primary pulmonary meningiomas,minute pulmonary meningothelial-like nodules,and metastatic pulmonary meningiomas are rare pulmonary lesions.These lesions are difficult to differentiate from lung cancers based on clinical and imaging manifestations.Herein,we briefly introduce the clinical,imaging,and pathological characteristics of these lesions and discuss their pathogenesis to strengthen the current understanding of pulmonary meningothelial proliferative lesions in clinical diagnosis and therapy.

BACKGROUND Thymic lipofibroadenomas are extremely rare.In this study,we investigated the clinicopathological characteristics of thymic lipofibroadenomas.CASE SUMMARY This study included three patients with thymic lipofibroadenomas.We retrospectively analyzed the patient data to determine the clinicopathological characteristics of thymic lipofibroadenomas.The study included one man and two women[mean age,43(33–59)years].All patients were non-smokers and presented with well-defined anterior mediastinal tumors.The cut surfaces of the tumors were solid,with a mixture of yellow and white areas.Microscopic evaluation of resected specimens showed scattered cord-like structures of epithelial cells embedded within abundant fibrotic and hyaline stroma admixed with variable quantities of adipose tissue.One patient showed hyperplastic thymic tissue in a part of the tumor.CONCLUSION Thymic lipofibroadenomas are an extremely rare type of benign thymic tumor.Surgical removal of lipofibroadenomas is usually curative.

Making full use of coordination-driven self-assembly strategy,we herein described the selective synthesis of a molecular Borromean rings and two cases of “U”-shaped tweezer-like molecular assemblies in high yield by using bipyridyl ligands based on biphenyl unit and half-sandwich binuclear rhodium(III)/iridium(III) building blocks.The selective synthesis was realized by adjusting the length of dipyridyl arms.The utilization of curved U-shaped bipyridyl ligand L1 led to tweezer-like molecular assemblies.Subsequently,olefinic bonds were introduced to elongate dipyridyl arms obtaining ligand L2.The ligand L2 has two stable conformations,U-shape and Z-shape,which facilitated the formation of different topologies including the tetranuclear macrocycle and Borromean rings with different building blocks in this work.These structures in solid and solution all have been further confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction,NMR analysis,and mass spectrometry.In addition,as an important driving force,π-π stacking interactions not only played a significant role in the stability of structures but also further triggered photothermal conversion in solution.The experimental results demonstrated that compounds 1a and 2 had good NIR photothermal conversion efficiency (11.83% and 17.76%),and further analysis found the photothermal conversion efficiency had a gradual increase in the trend with the π-π stacking interactions increasing.This research expands the application of topological structures in materials science and provides a new idea for the synthesis of novel photothermal conversion materials.

A series of new Schiff base type macrocyclic crown ethers containing naphthalene ring were synthesized from 2,2'-di(o-formylnaphthoxy) ethyl ether or 1,2-di(o-formylnaphthoxy) ethane and four appropriate diamines. The chemical structures of the new compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectra, nuclear magnetic resonance spectra and mass spectrometry.

Objective:A case study was performed to discuss the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)treatments on spasmodic torticollis.Materials and methods:A 28-year-old male was diagnosed with spasmodic torticollis due to twist and turn of neck after being frightened,who was unable to take care of himself for over 3 months.He once took an oral non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug,but no significant improvement was seen in his symptoms.After a few months,his symptoms got worse,with onset of spasms.Therefore,he was treated at our hospital with traditional Chinese prescription and Tuina massage therapy for 3 months and followed up for 6 months.The Toronto Western Spasmodic Torticollis Rating Scale(TWSTRS)and the Craniocervical Dystonia Questionnaire(CDQ-24)scores were recorded before and after treatment and during follow-up observations to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy.Results:Compared to the baseline,the TWSTRS and CDQ-24 scores decreased significantly,and there was no evident recurrence of his symptoms for at least 6 months of follow-up.Moreover,no apparent discomfort or side effects were observed during the treatment.Conclusion:Jingu abdominal massage combined with traditional Chinese prescription has a certain efficacy in the treatment of spasmodic torticollis,with almost no side effects,which can be easily accepted by patients.

Irreducible anteromedial radial head dislocation(IARHD)caused by transposed biceps tendon is rare.Delayed diagnosis and surgical failure often occur.A 46-year-old fisherman presented with 10 days history of painful swelling and restricted movement of his right elbow due to strangulation injury by a fishing boat cable.On examination,the images of the right elbow reveals in a"semi-extended and pronated"elastic fixation position.Radiography and 3-dimensional reconstruction CT reveals an isolated anteromedial radial head dislocation with extreme protonation of the radius and the bicipital tuberosity towards the posterior aspect of the elbow joint,and MRI shows biceps tendon wrapping around the radial neck,similar to umbilical cord wrapping seen in newborns.The Henry approach was applied for the first time to reduce the biceps tendon.The patient achieved a good functional recovery at 26 months,which represents the first reported case of IARHD without fracture caused by biceps tendon in an adult.In treatment of IARHD,attention should be paid to the phenomenon of biceps tendon transposition.Careful clinical examination,comprehensive imaging modalities,and appropriate surgical approach are the keys to successful management.

The low temperature ion sulphuration-an effective surface engineering technique for reducing friction and wear of rubbing-pairs was introduced. It involves the principle of ion sulphuration process, microstructure of FeS film on 1045 steel, tribological properties of FeS film on steels, microstructions and tribological properties of MoS2 and nano-FeS/MoS2 multi-layered films, as well as their applications.
