Bis(15-crown-5)-stilbenes containing crown ether parts have been widely used in a variety of chemical applications,such as cation detectors,because of their ability to selectively bind to alkali metal cations,Bis(15-crown-5)-stilbenes and its derivatives with complexation of one-or two-alkali metal cation(Li^(+),Na^(+)and K^(+))have been theoretically investigat-ed by quantum chemistry methods.The coordination of alkali cations results in partial shrinkage of crown ethers,which directly affected natural distribution analysis charges and molecular orbital energy levels.The number of alkali metal ions has significant effects on absorption spectra and mean second hyperpolarizability.When one alkali metal ion was added to the anticonformer of bis(15-crown-5)-stilbene,the absorption spectra were obvious-ly redshifted and the mean second hyperpolarizability values were slightly increased;while two alkali metal ions were added to bis(15-crown-5)-stilbene,the absorption spectra were ob-viously blue shifted and the mean second hyperpolarizability values decreased.On the other hand,as the radius of the alkali ions increased,the mean second hyperpolarizability values of the compounds increased gradually.It is indicated that the mean second hyperpolarizability value is sensitive to the number and radius of the alkali metal cations,thus the third order nonlinear optical response can be used as a signal to detect the number and type of alkali met-al ions.

Reasonable construction of high activity and low cost non-noble metal oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)catalyst is of great importance for the wide application of zinc-air batteries(ZABs).Using bimetallic MOF as a precursor combined with electrospinning,high-temperature carbonization and electrodeposition,we successfully developed a porous carbon nanofiber(Co@Fe-CNFs-1000)with bimetallic active center as an efficient catalyst for ORR.The successful construction of this special core-shell structure directly explores the synergy between different active centers.The results showed that the synthesized Co@Fe-CNFs-1000 catalyst exhibited ORR performance comparable to that of Pt/C in 0.1 mol/L KOH electrolyte,high half-wave potential(E_(1/2)=0.81 V)and limiting current density(J_(L)=5.4 ma·cm^(-2)).In addition,homemade liquid ZABs with Co@Fe-CNFs-1000 as the air cathode showed excellent power density(155.8 mW·cm^(-2)),specific capacity(780.6 mah·g_(Zn)^(-1))and long-term stability(over 100 h at 2 ma·cm^(-2)),surpassing even Pt/C-based batteries.In addition,the flexible solid-state ZABs assembled based on Co@Fe-CNFs-1000 demonstrates excellent flexibility and durability.This work provides a new idea for constructing ORR catalysts with high activity centers.

The swelling behavior of 20% cold-worked 15-15Ti steels with （0.23-0.40） wt% titanium and （0.42-0.81） wt% silicon content after heavy-ion beam irradiation has been investigated by transmission electron microscopy. The results show that 15-15Ti steel with higher titanium content displays lower swelling. As silicon content increases, the cavity size and the swelling of the 15-15Ti steels decrease obviously. Titanium and silicon may play important roles in suppressing the cavity nucleation and growth in 15-15Ti steel.

The protein–protein interaction between menin and mixed lineage leukemia(MLL)plays an important role in the development of human hepatocellular carcinogenesis(HCC)and is associated with poor prognosis of HCC patients.1,2 Hence,interrupting the menin-MLL interaction is an attractive strategy in cancer treatment,particularly for liver cancer.3,4 In this study,we identified complex C1 as the first rhodium(III)-based orally bioavailable selective inhibitor of the menin-MLL interaction for HCC.

Viscoelastic anticorrosive tape is extensively used for repairing anticorrosive layers on compressor outlet pipelines in the oil and gas industry.However,there is no relevant research on the coupling effect of temperature and vibration on the performance of viscoelastic anticorrosive tape.In this paper,acceleration tests of temperature and vibration coupling conditions were conducted to investigate the performance of viscoelastic anticorrosive tape.After temperature and vibration treatment,the specimens showed wide variance in thickness,and the adhesion and chemical soaking resistance of the tape was reduced.However,the viscoelastic anticorrosive tape still showed high adhesion.According to theoretical calculations,the tested viscoelastic body can repair pipes with a maximum diameter of 903 mm.Therefore,this viscoelastic anticorrosive tape is suitable for the compressor outlets of buried pipelines with diameters smaller than 903 mm.The research in this paper provides a method and basis for the selection of repairing materials for the anticorrosion coatings of compressor outlet pipelines.

AIM: To assess surgical outcomes of a novel method of transscleral drainage of subretinal fluid using a 25-gauge trocar-cannula with a self-closing valve(DTV) in patients with severe exudative retinal detachment(ERD) in Coats disease.METHODS: Retrospective consecutive cases of 20 patients(20 eyes) of severe ERD due to Coats disease(stage 3 B) in total 156 Coats patients between June 2015 and April 2019 were included in this study. The participants were aged 1 to 10 y with a mean age of 3.50±1.79 y. The mean follow-up time were 11.9 mo. Subretinal fluid was drained transsclerally using a novel method of DTV. The height of the retinal detachment and the regression of abnormal vessels including telangiectasias and aneurysms were observed. Complications including vitreoretinal fibrosis, tractional retinal detachments(TRD), endophthalmitis, retinal holes, and hemorrhages were evaluated.RESULTS: Following surgeries, the patients showed the replacement of ERD and regression of telangiectatic retinal vessels observed with binocular indirect ophthalmoscopy. Six patients received retinal cryotherapies and 12 patients received laser photocoagulations following first external subretinal fluid drainage using DTV. All patients underwent intravitreal anti-vascular endothelial growth factor therapies to induce residual subretinal fluid absorption. During followups, 8 patients underwent a second drainage operation, 17 patients received retinal laser photocoagulations and 7 patients received cryotherapies. Vitreoretinal fibrosis was found in 7 patients and 6 patients underwent microinvasive vitrectomies during the follow-up period. Severe TRD, iatrogenic retinal holes, and hemorrhages were not found.CONCLUSION: The authors present a new therapeutic approach that successfully drains subretinal fluid in advanced stage 3 B Coats disease with severe ERD. This is a simple, safe and less invasive approach when compared with traditional managements. However, it should be strictly selected for patients with high bullous ERD close to the c

Discharge characteristics are crucial for detecting changes in hydrological processes.Recently,the river hydrology)in the Headwater Area of the Yellow River(HAYR)has exhibited erratic regimes(e.g.,monotonously declining/low/high hydrograph,even with normal precipitation)under the effects of climate change,permafrost thaw and changes in dam operation.This study integrates hydroclimatic variables(air temperature,precipitation,and potential evapotranspiration)with anthropogenic dam operation and permafrost degradation impact data to systematically examine the mechanisms of these hydrological process changes during 1956–2019.The results show the following:1)compared with the pre-dammed gauged flow,dam construction(January 1998–January 2000)and removal of dam(September 2018–August 2019)induced monotonously low(−17.2 m^(3) s^(−1);−61%)and high(+54.6 m^(3) s^(−1);+138%)hydrographs,respectively;2)hydroclimatic variables mainly controlled the summer–autumn hydrological processes in the HAYR;3)the monotonous decline of the hydrograph of Yellow River in the HAYR in some hydrological years(e.g.,1977,1979,1990 and 1995)was closely related with unusually high atmospheric demands of evaporation and low-intense rainfall during summer–autumn seasons;and 4)the lengthening of subsurface hydrological pathways and residence time,permafrost degradation reduced the recession coefficient(−0.002 per year)of winter flow and altered the hydrological regimes of seasonal rivers,which resulted in flattened hydrographs that reduced and delayed the peak flow(of 0.05 mm per year and 1.65 d per year,respectively)as well as boosted the winter baseflow(0.01 mm per year).This study can provide updated and systematic understanding of changing hydrological processes in typical alpine catchments on northeastern Qinghai–Tibet Plateau,China under a warming climate.

To the editor： Pulmonary arteriovenous malformation （PAVM） is abnormal communications between the pulmonary arteries andveins, and has been reported to be sporadic or to occur in association with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia （HHT）.1 The patients of PAVM may be asymptomatic, present with hypoxemia, paradoxical thromboembolism, or hemoptysis. Ference and coworkers 2 reported only 6 patients with hemoptysis in a review of 143 patients with PAVM.

目的探究缺氧诱导金属硫蛋白1E(metallothionein 1E,MT1E)表达对缺氧状态下三阴型乳腺癌(triple-negative breast cancer,TNBC)细胞体外上皮-间质转化(epithelial-mesenchymal transition,EMT)的影响。方法将MDA-MB-231细胞分为常氧培养组、低氧培养组和RNAi低氧培养组,采用qRT-PCR、Western blot法及免疫组化法检测MT1E、E-cadherin与vimentin的mRNA表达量和蛋白表达水平;Transwell实验和细胞划痕实验检测MDA-MB-231细胞的侵袭和转移能力。结果缺氧可诱导MDA-MB-231细胞内MT1E表达上调并伴有E-cadherin表达下调和vimentin表达上调;Transwell实验和细胞划痕实验发现细胞侵袭数量和迁移率明显增加(P均<0.05);靶向干扰MT1E生成后E-cadherin表达回升,vimentin表达下降,MDA-MB-231细胞侵袭数量和迁移率明显降低(P均<0.01)。结论MDA-MB-231细胞内的MT1E可由缺氧诱导表达上调同时对缺氧状态下的EMT进程具有促进作用。
