With an increase in global aging,the number of people affected by cerebrovascular diseases is also increasing,and the incidence of vascular dementia-closely related to cerebrovascular risk-is increasing at an epidemic ***,few therapeutic options exist that can markedly improve the cognitive impairment and prognosis of vascular dementia *** in Alzheimer’s disease and other neurological disorders,synaptic dysfunction is recognized as the main reason for cognitive *** oxide is one of the ubiquitous gaseous cellular messengers involved in multiple physiological and pathological processes of the central nervous ***,nitric oxide has been implicated in regulating synaptic plasticity and plays an important role in the pathogenesis of vascular *** review introduces in detail the emerging role of nitric oxide in physiological and pathological states of vascular dementia and summarizes the diverse effects of nitric oxide on different aspects of synaptic dysfunction,neuroinflammation,oxidative stress,and blood-brain barrier dysfunction that underlie the progress of vascular ***,we propose that targeting the nitric oxide-sGC-cGMP pathway using certain specific approaches may provide a novel therapeutic strategy for vascular dementia.

The principle aim of this essay is to illustrate how different phenomena is captured by different discretizations of the Hopf equation and general hyperbolic conservation laws. This includes dispersive schemes, shock capturing schemes as well as schemes for computing multi-valued solutions of the underlying equation. We introduce some model equations which describe the behavior of the discrete equation more accurate than the original equation. These model equations can either be conveniently discretized for producing novel numerical schemes or further analyzed to enrich the theory of nonlinear partial differential equations.

Lithium-sulfur batteries have been widely nominated as one of the most promising next-generation electrochemical storage systems due to its low cost, high capacity and energy density. However, its practical application is still hindered by poor cycling lifetime, low Coulombic efficiency, instability and small scales. In the last decade, the electrochemical performances of the lithium-sulfur batteries have been improved by developing various novel nanoarchitectures as qualified hosts, and enhancing the sulfur loading with effective encapsulating strategies. The review summarizes the major sulfur cooperating strategies of cathodes based on background and latest progress of the lithium-sulfur batteries. The novel cooperating strategies of physical techniques and chemical synthesis techniques are discussed in detail. Based on the rich chemistry of sulfur, we paid more attention to the highlights of sulfur encapsulating strategies. Furthermore, the critical research directions in the coming future are proposed in the conclusion and outlook section.

This paper reports the sensitive effect of photoluminescence peak intensity and transmittance affected by B, Al, and N dopants in fluorescent 4H-SiC single crystals. The crystalline type, doping concentration, photoluminescence spectra,and transmission spectra were characterized at room temperature. It is found that the doped 4H-SiC single crystal emits a warm white light covering a wide range from 460 nm to 720 nm, and the transmittance increases from ~10% to ~60%with the fluctuation of B, Al, and N ternary dopants. With a parameter of C_(D-A), defined by B, Al, and N concentration, the photoluminescence and transmittance properties can be adjusted by optimal doping regulation.

Ingested fish bone induced intestinal perforations are seldom diagnosed preoperatively due to incomplete patient history taking and difficulties in image evidence *** literature suggests early surgical intervention to prevent sepsis and complications resulting from fish bone *** report the case of a 44-year-old man suffered from acute abdomen induced by a fish bone *** diagnosis was supported by computed tomography(CT) imaging of fish bone lodged in distal ileum and a history of fish ingestion recalled by the *** treatment was elected to manage the patient's condition instead of surgical *** treatment resulted in a complete resolution of abdominal pain on hospital day number 4 without *** affecting clinical treatment decisions include the nature of microperforation,the patient's good overall health condition,and the early diagnosis before sepsis signs ***-perforation means the puncture of intestine wall without CT evidence of free air,purulent peritoneum or *** subsequently reviewed the literature to support our decision to pursue medical instead of surgical intervention.
