Locking compression plate+T-type steel plate for postoperative weight bearing and functional recovery in complex tibial plateau fractures

Complex tibial plateau fractures can seriously affect quality of life and physical and mental health of patients.The anatomical relationship between the proximal tibial bone and soft tissue is complex,resulting in different types of tibial plateau fractures.Violent trauma can lead to displaced fracture,serious soft tissue injury,and potentially,dislocation of the knee joint.Therefore,tibial plateau fractures are extremely unstable.AIM To assess the use of locking compression plate(LCP)+T-type steel plate for postoperative weight bearing and functional recovery of complex tibial plateau fractures.METHODS Ninety-seven patients with complex tibial plateau fractures who underwent surgery at our hospital were selected for retrospective study.Forty-nine patients had been treated with LCP+T-type steel plate limited internal fixation(study group),and 48 patients with bilateral ordinary steel plate support(control group).The operation process index,postoperative rehabilitation related index,Rasmussen score of the knee joint,tibial plateau varus angle(TPA),tibial plateau retroversion angle(PA),and surgical complications of the two groups were compared.RESULTS The operation time and intraoperative bone graft volume in the study group were lower than those in the control group(Pling time between the groups(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the TPA and PA angle between the groups immediately and 18 mo after surgery(P>0.05).At 12 mo after surgery,the Rasmussen scale score was higher in the study group than in the control group(P0.05).The postoperative complication rate in the study group(3.77%)was lower than that in the control group(15.09%;P<0.05).CONCLUSION LCP+T-type steel plate in

Background This study analyzed the motor development and suspected developmental coordination disorder of very and moderately preterm(0.05).Conclusions Our findings have important implications for understanding motor impairment in children born at different gestational ages.Very and moderately preterm preschoolers have an increased risk of DCD,and long-term follow-up should be provided for early detection and intervention.

Simulation of gas-solid flow in sinter vertical cooling furnace

The velocity distribution of sinter and gas in vertical cooling furnace(VCF)has an important influence on gas-solid heat transfer.Based on the slot model of single hopper in the VCF of Meishan Iron and Steel Co.,Ltd.,the velocity and particle size distribution of sinter and the velocity and pressure distribution of gas were studied using a computational fluid dynamics-discrete element method model to obtain the gas-solid flow rule in the VCF.The results showed that the velocity of sinter near the wall and the edge of vent cowl was lower than that in the rest of the same plane.Therefore,the rectangular section of the vertical cooling furnace can be divided into a quasi-static zone,a plug flow zone and a convergent flow zone according to the flow velocity of the sinter.The average particle size and the void fraction of sinter bed were distributed in"W"and"V"shape along the width direction,respectively.The distribution of gas velocity in the furnace cavity was uneven,and the high-velocity area gradually changed from the center to the edge of the furnace cavity with the rise of gas.Reducing the ratio of edge to center gas flow from 2.7∶1 to 0.7∶1 could improve the gas velocity,but could not change the gas velocity distribution.The gas velocity distribution was more affected by the average particle size distribution of the sinter bed.It was suggested that measures need be taken to adjust it to improve the gas velocity distribution in the VCF.

Possible ground states and parallel magnetic-field-driven phase transitions of collinear antiferromagnets

Understanding the nature of all possible ground states and especially magnetic-field-driven phase transitions of antiferromagnets represents a major step towards unravelling the real nature of interesting phenomena such as superconductivity,multiferroicity or magnetoresistance in condensed-matter science.Here a consistent mean-field calculation endowed with antiferromagnetic(AFM)exchange interaction(J),easy axis anisotropy(γ),uniaxial single-ion anisotropy(D)and Zeeman coupling to a magnetic field parallel to the AFM easy axis consistently unifies the AFM state,spin-flop(SFO)and spin-flip transitions.We reveal some mathematically allowed exotic spin states and fluctuations depending on the relative coupling strength of(J,γand D).We build the three-dimensional(J,γand D)and two-dimensional(γand D)phase diagrams clearly displaying the equilibrium phase conditions and discuss the origins of various magnetic states as well as their transitions in different couplings.Besides the traditional first-order type one,we unambiguously confirm an existence of a second-order type SFO transition.This study provides an integrated theoretical model for the magnetic states of collinear antiferromagnets with two interpenetrating sublattices and offers a practical approach as an alternative to the estimation of magnetic exchange parameters(J,γand D),and the results may shed light on nontrivial magnetism-related properties of bulks,thin films and nanostructures of correlated electron systems.

重症肌无力的治疗已进入靶向治疗时代。不同靶向疗法在重症肌无力致病机制的不同环节发挥作用。使用减少致病性自身抗体产生的免疫疗法才能长期稳定控制重症肌无力症状。糖皮质激素在自身抗体产生和免疫网络调节的多个环节起作用,使其成为重症肌无力治疗的基础。重症肌无力已有明确的治疗目标。在治疗达标过程的不同阶段,可单独使用激素,亦可与传统的免疫抑制剂或靶向疗法合用,通过评估是否具备传统激素升级策略治疗获益的特征,实施以激素为基础、以治疗达标为导向的个体化治疗方案,获得更好的长期疗效。

He is a member of executive committee of the AFRO-ASIAN Psychological Association （AAPA）, the National Color Standardization Committee, the New York Academy of Sciences, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science （AAAS）（Fig. 1）.

Ulinastatin suppresses endoplasmic reticulum stress and apoptosis in the hippocampus of rats with acute paraquat poisoning

Lung injury is the main manifestation of paraquat poisoning. Few studies have addressed brain damage after paraquat poisoning. Ulinastatin is a protease inhibitor that can effectively stabilize lysosomal membranes, prevent cell damage, and reduce the production of free radicals. This study assumed that ulinastatin would exert these effects on brain tissues that had been poisoned with paraquat. Rat models of paraquat poisoning were intraperitoneally injected with ulinastatin. Simultaneously, rats in the control group were administered normal saline. Hematoxylin-eosin staining showed that most hippocampal cells were contracted and nucleoli had disappeared in the paraquat group. Fewer cells in the hippocampus were concentrated and nucleoli had dis- appeared in the ulinastatin group. Western blot assay showed that expressions of GRP78 and cleaved-caspase-3 were significantly lower in the ulinastatin group than in the paraquat group. Immunohistochemical findings showed that CHOP immunoreactivity was significantly lower in the ulinastatin group than in the paraquat group. Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-medi- ated dUTP nick end labeling staining showed that the number of apoptotic cells was reduced in the paraquat and ulinastatin groups. These data confirmed that endoplasmic reticular stress can be induced by acute paraqnat poisoning. Ulinastatin can effectively inhibit this stress as well as cell apoptosis, thereby exerting a neuroprotective effect.

Prevention effect of medical self-crosslinking sodium hyaluronate gel on epidural scar adhesion after laminectomy

Objective:To analyze the effect and medical sclf-crosslinking sodium hyaluronate gel on epidural scar adhesion after laminectomy.Methods:A total of 24 New Zealand L5 laminectomy rabbits were randomly divided into four groups,group A as the control group without any treatment:group B covered by sodium hyaluronate gel;group C and group D covered by 0.5 and1.0 mL medical self-crosslinking sodium hyaluronate gel.All rabbits were scored at various time points after 2.4,6,8,12 weeks,then the formation of scar was observed.Results:In Groups B,C,D loose scar tissue occurred after 2 weeks of the operation,scar tissues were significantly less than that in group A,with mild inflammatory reaction.After 8 weeks,the scar tissues of group B were significantly more than that of groups C,D.After two weeks,group B,C were back to the preoperative level;After 4 weeks,group D was back to the preoperative level;After four weeks,the CSEP of group A was increased significantly,which was significantly higher than that in groups B,C,D.The motor function score of group A,group B and group C were the same as preoperative,but that in group D it was decreased significantly,and then it gradually recovered.After 4 weeks it kept a stable level.The motor function score of group A was decreased gradually after the operation,which kept a stable level after 4 weeks,the motor function score was significantly lower man that in groups B,C,D.Conclusions:Determination of somatosensory evoked potentials is sensitive indicator of spinal cord injury;Application of medical selfcrosslinking sodium hyaluronate gel is effective on epidural scar adhesion after laminectomy.

Synthesis of novel cyclohexanediol-derived chiral phosphite ligands and their application in the Cu-catalyzed conjugate addition of organozinc to cyclic enones

A series of novel chiral diphosphite ligands have been synthesized from（1R,2R）-trans-1,2-cyclohexanediol,（1S,2S）-trans-1,2-cyclohexanediol, racemic trans-1,2-cyclohexanediol and chlorophosphoric acid diary ester, and were successfully employed in the Cu-catalyzed asymmetric 1,4-conjugate addition of diethylzinc to cyclohexenone with up to 99% ee. It was found that ligand 1,2-bis[（R）-1,10-binaphthyl-2,2＇-diyl]phosphitecyclohexanediol 6a derived from racemic diol skeleton can show similar catalytic performance compared with ligand（1R,2R）-bis[（R）-1,1＇-binaphthyl-2,2＇-diyl]phosphitecyclohexanediol 6a＇ derived from enantiopure starting material. A significant dependence of stereoselectivity on the type of enone and the ring size of the cyclic enone was observed. Moreover, the configuration of the products was mainly determined by the configuration of the binaphthyl moieties of diphosphite ligands in the 1,4-addition of cyclic enones.

Internal fixation and unicompartmental knee arthroplasty for an elderly patient with patellar fracture and anteromedial osteoarthritis:A case report

BACKGROUND Open reduction and internal fixation(ORIF)is the traditional surgical treatment for patellar fractures,and unicompartmental knee arthroplasty(UKA),especially Oxford UKA,has been increasingly used in patients with medial knee osteoarthritis(OA).However,the process of choosing treatment for patients with both patellar fractures and anteromedial knee OA remains unclear.We present the case of a patient with a patellar fracture and anteromedial OA.CASE SUMMARY We present the case of a 72-year-old woman with a history of bilateral medial compartment OA of the knees and a right Oxford UKA.She also experienced a recent left patellar fracture.ORIF and Oxford UKA were performed in a single stage.The patient showed excellent postoperative clinical results.CONCLUSION ORIF and Oxford UKA can be performed simultaneously for patients with patellar fracture and anteromedial OA on the same knee.
