Cervical spondylotic myelopathy with syringomyelia presenting as hip Charcot neuroarthropathy:A case report and review of literature

BACKGROUND Charcot neuroarthropathy(CN)is a systemic disease characterized by progressive bone loss and destruction,which is usually closely related to diabetes,HIV,***,CN caused by syringomyelia accounts for only 5%of CN cases;the shoulder and elbow are most often involved,and the hip joint is rarely *** a rare factor,cervical spondylotic myelopathy(CSM)can be associated with syringomyelia,which is scarcely reported in the ***,we present the first case report to date of CN of the hip caused by syringomyelia secondary to *** SUMMARY We describe a 76-year-old male patient who was diagnosed with CSM due to neck pain and weakness of limbs 16 years *** years ago,he noticed recurrent swelling of the right hip with pain and was diagnosed with degenerative ***,however,his symptoms gradually worsened,and because of progressive pain,destabilization and weakness of the right hip,he was admitted to our *** systematic physical,radiographic and laboratory examinations,we finally reached a diagnosis:CN of the right hip associated with syringomyelia secondary to *** comprehensive evaluation of the patient's condition,we performed right total hip *** the follow-up,the patient felt well clinically and could walk independently with a knee *** We suggest a possible etiological association between CSM and syringomyelia,which may reflect a potential pathogenesis of *** encourage clinicians to actively carry out a detailed medical history and comprehensive physical and imaging examinations in patients with joint lesions,especially chronic shoulder neck pain,to rule out the possibility of this association,which plays a crucial role in the early diagnosis of *** may no longer be an absolute contraindication to surgical treatment of *** selection of the surgical strategy can markedly improve the clinical symptoms and quality of life of patients.

Transient Stability Analysis and Design of VSGs with Different DC-Link Voltage Controllers

Virtual synchronous control has been widely studied for the advantages of emulating inertia for voltage source converters (VSCs). A constant dc-link voltage is usually assumed in existing literature to estimate transient stability of virtual synchronous generators (VSGs). However, actual power supply in the dc-side of VSGs is limited and different dc-link voltage controllers are needed to achieve power balance between DC side and AC side. Addition of dc-link voltage controller has great influence on transient behavior of VSGs, which has not been investigated by previous research. To fill this gap, this paper gives insights into the effect of dc-link voltage dynamics on transient stability of VSGs. First, two typical kinds of VSGs with dc-link voltage controllers are introduced. Then, mathematical models considering dc-link dynamics are established and the effect of dc-link voltage controllers on transient synchronization stability of VSGs is revealed through equal area criterion (EAC). It is found that dc-link voltage controller would reduce stability margin of VSGs and design-oriented transient stability analysis is carried out quantitively using critical clearing time (CCT). Finally, simulation results are given to validate correctness of theoretical analysis.

The layer Hall effect describes electrons spontaneously deflected to opposite sides at different layers, which has been experimentally reported in the MnBi2Te4thin films under perpendicular electric fields. Here, we reveal a universal origin of the layer Hall effect in terms of the so-called hidden Berry curvature, as well as material design principles. Hence, it gives rise to zero Berry curvature in momentum space but non-zero layer-locked hidden Berry curvature in real space. We show that, compared to that of a trivial insulator, the layer Hall effect is significantly enhanced in antiferromagnetic topological insulators. Our universal picture provides a paradigm for revealing the hidden physics as a result of the interplay between the global and local symmetries, and can be generalized in various scenarios.

Large-aperture Telescope Tracking Control Based on Time-synchronization Strategy

A time-synchronization strategy for packetized transmission of target position about a large-aperture telescope observation control system has been proposed in this *** with the existing telescope tracking strategy,the target position packing and sending strategy based on the time synchronization method proposed in this paper has the advantages of high stability and ***,the telescope tracking observation control method was elaborated in this paper,including the motion pattern during telescope ***,the strategy for packetizes transmission of target positions based on time-synchronization is established and lists the detailed ***,the performance of the tracking strategy is verified using the 2.5 m telescope for the simulated uniform speed star and the blind-tracking fixed star HIP 31216,*** test results show that the accuracy root mean square of the tracking strategy proposed in this paper is less than 0".02 at 30 minutes,and the performance is much better than the design requirement of 0".*** most important advantage of this tracking strategy is that the telescope can guarantee normal tracking for a certain period of time even if the hardware or software of the host computer is abnormal.

High-Speed Rubbing Behavior of Abrasive Coating Coated on Titanium Alloy Blade Tips

In aero-engines, abrasive coatings are typically utilized to protect the blade tip from excessive wear caused by the harder abradable sealing coating and thereby improve the sealing performance of engines. Therefore, a Ni/cBN abrasive coating was prepared on titanium alloy using electrodeposition. The high-speed rubbing tests with a linear velocity of 350 m/s and different incursion rates were performed to investigate the effect of the Ni/cBN abrasive coating on the wear behavior against NiCrAl/diatomite seal coating. Results showed that melting wear and adhesive transfer occurred on the bare blades, causing the bare blade to suffer excessive wear. While the Ni/cBN abrasive coating exhibited superior wear resistance and cutting performance. The cBN grits pullout, the abrasion of Ni matrix and transfer of seal coating to the cBN grits were the main wear mechanism of the Ni/cBN abrasive coating. Additionally, it was found that the relationship between the incursion rate and high-speed rubbing behavior is quite different for the bare blade and Ni/cBN coating. The reason for the difference in wear behavior of bare blade and Ni/cBN coating at different incursion rates was discussed in detail.

LiMn_(2)O_(4)(LMO)electrochemical lithium-ion pump has gained widespread attention due to its green,high efficiency,and low energy consumption in selectively extracting lithium from ***,collapse of crystal structure and loss of lithium extraction capacity caused by Mn dissolution loss limits its industrialized ***,a multifunctional coating was developed by depositing amorphous AlPO_(4)on the surface of LMO using sol-gel *** characterization and electrochemical performance test provided insights into the mechanism of Li^(+)embedment and de-embedment and revealed that multifunctional AlPO_(4)can reconstruct the physical and chemical state of LMO surface to improve the interface hydrophilicity,promote the transport of Li^(+),strengthen cycle ***,after 20 cycles,the capacity retention rate of 0.5AP-LMO reached 93.6%with only 0.147%Mn dissolution *** average Li^(+)release capacity of 0.5AP-LMO//Ag system in simulated brine is 28.77 mg/(g h),which is 90.4%higher than ***,even in the more complex Zabuye real brine,0.5AP-LMO//Ag can still maintain excellent lithium extraction *** results indicate that the 0.5AP-LMO//Ag lithium-ion pump shows promising potential as a Li^(+)selective extraction system.

Three-dimensional(3D)cell cultures have contributed to a variety of biological research fields by filling the gap between monolayers and animal *** modern optical sectioning microscopic methods make it possible to probe the complexity of 3D cell cultures but are limited by the inherent *** tissue optical clearing methods have emerged as powerful tools for investigating whole-mount tissues in 3D,they often have limitations,such as being too harsh for fragile 3D cell cultures,requiring complex handling protocols,or inducing tissue deformation with shrinkage or *** address this issue,we proposed a modified optical clearing method for 3D cell cultures,called MACS-W,which is simple,highly efficient,and *** our evaluation of MACS-W,we found that it exhibits excellent clearing capability in just 10 min,with minimal deformation,and helps drug evaluation on tumor *** summary,MACS-W is a fast,minimally-deformative and fluorescence compatible clearing method that has the potential to be widely used in the studies of 3D cell cultures.

Accurate and efficient floor localization with scalable spiking graph neural networks

Floor localization is crucial for various applications such as emergency response and rescue,indoor positioning,and recommender *** existing floor localization systems have many drawbacks,like low accuracy,poor scalability,and high computational *** this paper,we first frame the problem of floor localization as one of learning node embeddings to predict the floor label of a ***,we introduce FloorLocator,a deep learning-based method for floor localization that integrates efficient spiking neural networks with powerful graph neural *** approach offers high accuracy,easy scalability to new buildings,and computational *** results on using several public datasets demonstrate that FloorLocator outperforms state-of-the-art ***,in building B0,FloorLocator achieved recognition accuracy of 95.9%,exceeding state-of-the-art methods by at least 10%.In building B1,it reached an accuracy of 82.1%,surpassing the latest methods by at least 4%.These results indicate FloorLocator’s superiority in multi-floor building environment localization.
