In the era of Big Data, typical architecture of distributed real-time stream processing systems is the combination of Flume, Kafka, and Storm. As a kind of distributed message system, Kafka has the characteristics of horizontal scalability and high throughput, which is manly deployed in many areas in order to address the problem of speed mismatch between message producers and consumers. When using Kafka, we need to quickly receive data sent by producers. In addition, we need to send data to consumers quickly. Therefore, the performance of Kafka is of critical importance to the performance of the whole stream processing system. In this paper, we propose the improved design of real-time stream processing systems, and focus on improving the Kafka's data loading process.We use Kafka cat to transfer data from the source to Kafka topic directly, which can reduce the network transmission. We also utilize the memory file system to accelerate the process of data loading, which can address the bottleneck and performance problems caused by disk I/O. Extensive experiments are conducted to evaluate the performance, which show the superiority of our improved design.

The current storage mechanism considered little in data’s keeping characteristics.These can produce fragments of various sizes among data sets.In some cases,these fragments may be serious and harm system performance.In this paper,we manage to modify the current storage mechanism.We introduce an extra storage unit called data bucket into the classical data manage architecture.Next,we modify the data manage mechanism to improve our designs.By keeping data according to their visited information,both the number of fragments and the fragment size are greatly reduced.Considering different data features and storage device conditions,we also improve the solid state drive(SSD)lifetime by keeping data into different spaces.Experiments show that our designs have a positive influence on the SSD storage density and actual service time.

Purpose: Un displaced subtle ligamentous Lisfranc injuries are easy to miss or underestimate, and many cases are treated without surgical fixation. It has not yet widely known whether conservative treatment for undisplaced subtle ligamentous Lisfranc injuries may lead to a poor outcome. The purpose of this study is to compare the outcomes of conservative versus surgical management (percutaneous position screw) of undisplaced subtle ligamentous Lisfranc injury. Methods: We analysed 61 cases in this retrospective study, including 38 males and 23 females. Forty-one patients were managed conservatively, while 20 patients received surgical treatment involving minimal invasive percutaneous pos让ion screw. American orthopaedic foot &ankle society (AOFAS), foot function index (FFI, including FFI disability, FFl pain score and activity limitation scale) scores, Maryland foot score and short form-36 (SF-36) were recorded and compared after a follow-up of 10-16 months (average 12.3). Results: Patients in the surgical management group had higher scores in all evaluation methods (p < 0.05). The complications in the conservative management group had higher incidenee, mainly including secondary diastasis (34.1% vs. 5.0%), joint stiffness after 3 months (82.9% vs. 0%), and secondary arthrodesis (12.2% vs. 0%). The highest rate of complication in surgical management group was temporary forefoot pain (55.0%). Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that the outcomes of the surgical management with percutaneous position screw fixation are better than the conservative management to treat undisplaced subtle ligamentous Lisfranc injuries. This study can serve as a resource for orthopaedic surgeons in recog nizing and man aging such injuries.

Resilience optimization for multi-UAV formation reconfiguration via enhanced pigeon-inspired optimization

This paper develops a novel optimization method oriented to the resilience of multiple Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(multi-UAV)formations to achieve rapid and accurate reconfiguration under random attacks.First,a resilience metric is applied to reflect the effect and rapidity of multi-UAV formation resisting random attacks.Second,an optimization model based on a parameter optimization problem to maximize the system resilience is established.Third,an Adaptive Learning-based Pigeon-Inspired Optimization(ALPIO)algorithm is designed to optimize the resilience value.Finally,typical formation topologies with six UAVs are investigated as a case study to verify the proposed approach.The experimental results indicate that the proposed scheme can achieve resilience optimization for a multi-UAV formation reconfiguration by increasing the system resilience values to 97.53%and 81.4%after random attacks.

The traditional Hassler-Brunner(HB)interpretation method of centrifuge capillary pressure is widely used in materials,soil,biotechnology,and especially in the petroleum industry.However,the assumptions of the traditional method cannot be simultaneously satisfied,the traditional method has been known to lead significant errors in some cases.In this paper,a new double integral method is proposed to evaluate the centrifuge capillary pressure of long tight sandstone samples.both the changes of capillary length and interface of wetting phase and non-wetting phase fluids are considered by the new integral method,thus the average pressure and saturation derived from the proposed double integral method is more sufficient in theoretic foundation and clearer on physical meaning.By comparing with the measured capillary pressure of long tight sandstone core samples from porous plate,the capillary pressure calculated from traditional HB method is obviously smaller than the measured value,and the discrepancy increases with the decreasing core porosity.However,the average capillary pressure obtained by the proposed double integral method is remarkably consistent with the measured value.The findings of this study can help for better understanding of distribution of wetting phase fluid and average centrifuge capillary pressure in the core during centrifugal process.

Fluorescence-guided surgery(FGS)with tumor-targeted imaging agents,particularly those using the near-infrared wavelength,has emerged as a real-time technique to highlight the tumor location and margins during a surgical procedure.For accurate visualization of prostate cancer(PCa)boundary and lymphatic metastasis,we developed a new approach involving an efficient self-quenched near-infrared fluorescence probe,Cy-KUE-OA,with dual PCa-membrane affinity.Cy-KUE-OA specifically targeted the prostate-specific membrane antigen(PSMA),anchored into the phospholipids of the cell membrane of PCa cells and consequently showed a strong Cy7-de-quenching effect.This dual–membrane-targeting probe allowed us to detect PSMA-expressing PCa cells both in vitro and in vivo and enabled clear visualization of the tumor boundary during fluorescence-guided laparoscopic surgery in PCa mouse models.Furthermore,the high PCa preference of Cy-KUE-OA was confirmed on surgically resected patient specimens of healthy tissues,PCa,and lymph node metastases.Taken together,our results serve as a bridge between preclinical and clinical research in FGS of PCa and lay a solid foundation for further clinical research.

To improve the efficiency and accuracy of single-event effect(SEE)research at the Heavy Ion Research Facility at Lanzhou,Hi’Beam-SEE must precisely localize the position at which each heavy ion hitting the integrated circuit(IC)causes SEE.In this study,we propose a fast multi-track location(FML)method based on deep learning to locate the position of each particle track with high speed and accuracy.FML can process a vast amount of data supplied by Hi’Beam-SEE online,revealing sensitive areas in real time.FML is a slot-based object-centric encoder-decoder structure in which each slot can learn the location information of each track in the image.To make the method more accurate for real data,we designed an algorithm to generate a simulated dataset with a distribution similar to that of the real data,which was then used to train the model.Extensive comparison experiments demonstrated that the FML method,which has the best performance on simulated datasets,has high accuracy on real datasets as well.In particular,FML can reach 238 fps and a standard error of 1.6237μm.This study discusses the design and performance of FML.

Background:Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the fourth leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide.Due to the high prevalence of hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection in China,the incidence of HCC in China is high,and liver cirrhosis caused by chronic hepatitis also brings great challenges to treatment.This paper reviewed the latest research progress on minimally invasive treatments for HCC,including percutaneous thermal ablation and new nonthermal ablation techniques,and introduced the principles,advantages,and clinical applications of various therapeutic methods in detail.Data sources:The data of treatments for HCC were systematically collected from the Pub Med,Science Direct,American Chemical Society and Web of Science databases published in English,using“minimally invasive”and“hepatocellular carcinoma”or“liver cancer”as the keywords.Results:Percutaneous thermal ablation is still a first-line strategy for the minimally invasive treatment of HCC.The effect of microwave ablation(MWA)on downgrading treatment before liver transplantation is better than that of radiofrequency ablation(RFA),while RFA is more widely used in the clinical practice.High-intensity focused ultrasound(HIFU)is mainly used for the palliative treatment of advanced liver cancer.Electrochemotherapy(ECT)delivers chemotherapeutic drugs to the target cells while reducing the blood supply around HCC.Irreversible electroporation(IRE)uses a microsecond-pulsed electric field that induces apoptosis and necrosis and triggers a systemic immune response.The nanosecond pulsed electric field(ns PEF)has achieved a good response in the ablation of mice with HCC,but it has not been reported in China for the treatment of human HCC.Conclusions:A variety of minimally invasive treatments provide a sufficient survival advantage for HCC patients.Nonthermal ablation will lead to a new wave with its unique advantage of antitumor recurrence and metastasis.
