The environment,especially the minimum temperature,affects summer maize grain yield by regulating ear differentiation and grain development

Ear differentiation,grain development and their interaction with factors in the growing environment,such as temperature,solar radiation and precipitation,greatly influence grain number and grain weight,and ultimately affect summer maize *** this study,field experiments involving different sowing dates were conducted over three years to evaluate the effects of temperature factors,average solar radiation and total precipitation on the growth process,ear differentiation,fertilization characteristics,grain filling and yield of summer maize varieties with different growth *** hybrids were evaluated in Huang-Huai-hai Plain(HHHP),China from 2018 to 2020 with five different sowing *** results showed that the grain yield formation of summer maize was strongly impacted by the environment from the silking(R1)to milking(R3)*** minimum temperature(AT_(min))was the key environmental factor that determined *** in the length of the growing season(r=–0.556,P<0.01)and the total floret number on ear(R^(2)=0.200,P<0.001)were found when AT_(min) was elevated from the emerging(VE)to R1 *** grain-filling rate(R^(2)=0.520,P<0.001)and the floret abortion rate on ear(R^(2)=0.437,P<0.001)showed quadratic relationships with AT_(min) from the R1 to physiological maturity(R6)stage,while the number of days after the R1 stage(r=–0.756,P<0.01)was negatively correlated with AT_(min).An increase in AT_(min) was beneficial for the promotion of yield when it did not exceeded a certain level(above 23°C during the R1–R3 stage and 20–21°C during the R1-R6 stage).Enhanced solar radiation and precipitation during R1–R6 increased the grain-filling rate(R^(2)=0.562,P<0.001 and R^(2)=0.229,P<0.05,respectively).Compared with short-season hybrids,full-season hybrids showed much greater suitability for a critical *** coordinated regulation of AT_(min),ear differentiation and grain development at the pre-and post-silking stages improved maize yie

Traveling Fronts for a Time-periodic Population Model with Dispersal

In this paper, we study a class of time-periodic population model with dispersal. It is well known that the existence of the periodic traveling fronts has been established. However, the uniqueness and stability of such fronts remain unsolved. In this paper, we first prove the uniqueness of non-critical periodic traveling fronts. Then, we show that all non-critical periodic traveling fronts are exponentially asymptotically stable.

The Weining Beishan area of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region is located at on the western edge of the Helanshan tectonic belt,which is a tectonic joint among Alxa Block,Ordos Block,and North Qilian orogenic ***,the tectonic evolution of this area remains unclear due to the lack of magmatic *** paper conducted researches on geochronology,geochemistry,and Sr-Nd-Hf isotopes of the diorite porphyrites exposed in the Weining Beishan *** zircon U-Pb dating yields two ages of 145.0±1.1 and 146.2±1.5 Ma,and the whole-rock geochemical data indicate that the diorite porphyrites are metaluminous to weakly peraluminous and high-K calc-alkaline *** characteristics of highly initial^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios(0.70816 to 0.71047),negativeε_(Nd)(t)(−8.9 to−8.4),and negativeε_(Hf)(t)(−13.8 to−21.2)indicate that the diorite porphyrites originated from partial melting of the middle-lower ancient crust related to the North China *** with the regional geology,we suggested that partial melting was triggered by a tectonic activity of deep faults cutting through the crust under the regional stress transformation from compressing to extension during the Late Jurassic–Early Cretaceous,which is probably related to the westward subduction of the Paleo-Pacific Plate.

Next generation power system needs dielectrics with increased dielectric energy ***,the low energy density of dielectrics limits their ***,an asymmetric trilayered nanocomposite,with a transition layer(TL),an insulation layer(IL),and a polarization layer(PL),is designed based on poly(vinylidene fluoride)-polymethyl methacrylate(PVDF-PMMA)matrix using KNbO_(3)(KN)and TiO_(2)(TO)as the *** morphology and defect control of the two-dimensional nano KN and nano TO fillers are realized via a hydrothermal method to increase the composite breakdown strength(E_(b))and the composite energy density(U_(e)).The asymmetric trilayered structure leads to a gradient electric field distribution,and the KN and TO nanosheets block charges transfer along z *** a result,the development path of the electrical trees is greatly curved,and E_(b) is effectively *** the Ue value of the nanocomposites reaches 17.79 J·cm^(-3) at 523 MV·m^(-1).On the basis,the composite Ue is further improved by defect control in TO *** nanocomposite KN/TO/PVDF-PMMA containing TO with less oxygen vacancy concentration(calcined at oxygen atmosphere)acquires a high Ue of 21.61 J·cm^(-3) at 548 MV·m^(-1).This study provides an idea for improving the energy storage performance by combining the design of the composite dielectric structure and the control of nanofillers’defect and morphology.

Atmospheric extinction coefficients and night sky brightness at the Xuyi Observation Station

We present measurements of the optical broadband atmospheric extinction coefficients and the night sky brightness at the Xuyi Observation Station of Purple Mountain Observatory. The measurements are based on CCD imaging data taken in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey＇s g, r and i bands with the Xuyi 1.04/1.20m Schmidt Telescope for the Xuyi Schmidt Telescope Photometric Survey of the Galactic Anticenter （XSTPS-GAC）, the photometric part of the Digital Sky Survey of the Galactic Anti-center （DSS-GAC）. The data were collected during more than 140 winter nights from 2009 to 2011. We find that the atmospheric extinction coefficients for the g, r and i bands are 0.69, 0.55 and 0.38 mag/airmass, respectively, based on observations taken on several photometric nights. The night sky brightness determined from images with good quality has median values of 21.7, 20.8 and 20.0 mag arcsec-2 and reaches 22.1, 21.2 and 20.4mag arcsec-2 under the best observing conditions for the g, r and i bands, respectively. The relatively large extinction coefficients compared with other good astronomical observing sites are mainly due to the relatively low elevation （i.e. 180 m） and high humidity at the station.

Scattering Law Analysis Based on Hapke and Lommel-Seeliger Models for Asteroidal Taxonomy

In deriving the physical properties of asteroids from their photometric data, the scattering law plays an important role, although the shape variations of asteroids result in the main variations in lightcurves. By following the physical behaviors of light reflections, Hapke et al. deduced complex functions to represent the scattering process, however, it is very hard to accurately simulate the surface scattering law in reality. For simplicity, other numerical scattering models are presented for efficiently calculating the physical properties of asteroids, such as the Lommel-Seeliger （LS） model. In this article, these two models are compared numerically. It is found that in some numerical applications the LS model in simple form with four parameters can be exploited to replace the Hapke model in complex form with five parameters. Furthermore, the generated synthetic lightcurves by the Cellinoid shape model also show that the LS model can perform as well as the Hapke model in the inversion process. Finally, by applying the Principal Component Analysis （PCA） technique to the parameters of the LS model, we present an efficient method to classify C and S type asteroids, instead of the conventional method using the parameters of the Hapke model.

Distributed Matching Theory-Based Task Re-Allocating for Heterogeneous Multi-UAV Edge Computing

Many efforts have been devoted to efficient task scheduling in Multi-Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)edge ***,the heterogeneity of UAV computation resource,and the task re-allocating between UAVs have not been fully considered ***,most existing works neglect the fact that a task can only be executed on the UAV equipped with its desired service function(SF).In this backdrop,this paper formulates the task scheduling problem as a multi-objective task scheduling problem,which aims at maximizing the task execution success ratio while minimizing the average weighted sum of all tasks’completion time and energy *** three coupled goals in a realtime manner with the dynamic arrival of tasks hinders us from adopting existing methods,like machine learning-based solutions that require a long training time and tremendous pre-knowledge about the task arrival process,or heuristic-based ones that usually incur a long decision-making *** tackle this problem in a distributed manner,we establish a matching theory framework,in which three conflicting goals are treated as the preferences of tasks,SFs and ***,a Distributed Matching Theory-based Re-allocating(DiMaToRe)algorithm is put *** formally proved that a stable matching can be achieved by our *** simulation results show that Di Ma To Re algorithm outperforms benchmark algorithms under diverse parameter settings and has good robustness.
