Unstable attractors are a novel type of attractor with local unstable dynamics, but with positive measures of ***, we introduce local contracting dynamics by slightly modifying the function which mediates the interactions among the oscillators. Thus, the property of unstable attractors can be controlled through the cooperation of expanding and contracting dynamics. We demonstrate that one certain type of unstable attractor is successfully controlled through this simple modification. Specifically, the staying time for unstable attractors can be prolonged, and we can even turn the unstable attractors into stable attractors with predictable basin sizes. As an application, we demonstrate how to realize the switching dynamics that is only sensitive to the finite size perturbations.

Following severe traumatic brain injury .（sTBI）, patients may remain in a coma, vegetative state （VS）, or minimally conscious state （MCS）, all of which are also clinically termed disorders of consciousness. Patients in a coma show complete disability in the arousal system and fail to achieve awareness spontaneously; yet true coma represents a transient state and rarely lasts longer than a month [1]. The VS （also known as unresponsive wakefulness syndrome）, characterized as a state with spontaneous or stimulus-induced eye-opening but the patient appears totally unaware of self and environment, may persist for months or years [2]. In contrast, the MCS is evidenced by preserved and reproducible signs of awareness as well as sleep-wake cycles, suggesting better recovery than coma and VS. Considering that no signs of consciousness are detectable, patients in a VS suffer from a high rate of misdiagnosis [3].

Perovskite BaTaO_(2) N(BTON) is one of the most promising photocatalysts for solar water splitting due to its wide visible-light absorption and suitable conduction/valence bands,but it still confronts the challenge of high defect density causing decreased charge separation as well as photocatalytic *** this work,we develop a simple zinc doping strategy to greatly suppress its defect density and promote its water reduction *** is found that the defect formation on the nitrided Ba(Zn_(1/3-x)Ta_(2/3))O_(3-y)N_z(denoted as BZTON hereafter) will be greatly inhibited when the Zn-doped Ba(Zn_(1/3)Ta_(2/3))O_(3)(BZTO) oxide is used as the nitridation *** structural characterizations and discussion demonstrate that the effective inhibition of Ta^(5+)into Ta^(4+)defects in BZTON mainly results from the easy reduction of zinc ions into metal and further the evaporation of zinc metal under the thermal ammonia ***,this simply doping methodology can be easily extended into the synthesis of SrTaO_(2) N(STON) with extremely low defect density,demonstrating its *** from the successful control to the defect density,the as-obtained BZTON photocatalyst exhibits remarkably promoted charge separation as well as water reduction activity to produce hydrogen with respect to the pristine *** work may provide an alternative avenue to prepare oxynitride semiconductors with reduced defect density for promoted solar energy conversion.

We investigate entanglement transfer from two separate cavities to the excitons in two quantum dots separately placed in the two cavities. The cavity fields and the excitons are treated as two continuous-variable （CV） subsystems. The time-dependent characteristic functions in the Wigner representation for the two subsystems are analytically obtained. Under the conditions that one of the two CV subsystems is initially prepared in a two-mode squeezed vacuum state and the other in its lowest energy state, we show that the entanglement reciprocation between the cavity fields and the excitons is realizable.

ECMO/CRRT Combined Support in the Treatment of Critically Ill SARS-CoV-2 Pneumonia Patients

Objective: To explore the experience with and complications of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO)combined with continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) for treatment of critically ill patients with severe acuterespiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) ***: The data on critically ill COVID-19 patients who received ECMO/CRRT at Tongji Hospital, which isaffi liated with Huazhong University of Science and Technology, in February and March 2020 were collected andanalyzed. All three patients were male, and the mean age was 50.6 years (range 44 – 58 years). The indications forECMO in critically ill SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia patients at our center were severe acute respiratory distress syndromewith Pa o 2 /F i o 2 below 100 mmHg under an effective protective pulmonary ventilation strategy and infl ammatory stormaccompanied by acute kidney injury. One patient, with severe heart failure, was selected for venoarterial ECMO, andthe other two patients were selected for venovenous ***: In the three patients who received ECMO combined with bedside CRRT, the mean duration was 9.7 days(range 7 – 13 days). Four complications occurred during ECMO/CRRT, especially thrombocytopenia. Laboratorytesting showed increased counts of leukocytes and lymphocytes and decreased levels of infl ammatory factors. LungCT was suggestive of signifi cantly absorbed and reduced lesions and interstitial fi ***: The survival rate of patients with cardiopulmonary failure treated with ECMO/CRRT in whomconventional treatment failed in this group was 100%, which indicates that combined treatment with ECMO and CRRTis an important treatment technique.

AIM: To investigate the Chinese version of the Low Vision Quality of Life Questionnaire(CLVQOL) as an instrument for obtaining clinically important changes after cataract ***: Patients underwent cataract surgery in Shanghai General Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, who fit the inclusion criteria were recruited. Two CLVQOLs were administered, including a preoperative CLVQOL and a CLVQOL at the end of the 3 mo follow-up period, and were completed using face-to-face interviews or phone interviews conducted by trained investigators. The minimal clinically important difference(MCID) was calculated using an anchor-based method and a distribution method. In addition, the responsiveness of the questionnaire was ***: A total of 155 residents were enrolled. The average visual acuity(VA) preoperatively was 0.08(SD=0.05), and it increased to 0.47(SD=0.28) at the end of followup. Statistically significant positive changes in the CLVQOL scores indicated significant improvement of vision related quality of life after cataract surgery. With the larger value between the two results as the final value, the MCID values of the CLVQOL(scores of the four scales as well as the total score) were 8.94, 2.61, 4.34, 3.10 and 17.63, respectively. The CLVQOL has both good internal and external ***: CLVQOL scores are appropriate instruments for obtaining clinically important changes after cataract surgery. This study is an effective exploration for establishingcataract surgery efficacy standards, which helps clinical and scientific research workers in ophthalmology to gain a more in-depth understanding when using CLVQOL.

Adsorption of Heavy Metal Ions from Aqueous Solutions by Zeolite Based on Oil Shale Ash： Kinetic and Equilibrium Studies

Na-A zeolite was successfully synthesized via the alkaline fusion method with oil shale ash as the raw material. The adsorption capacity of it was tested by removing Cu2＋, Ni2＋, Pb2＋ and Cd2＋ from aqueous solutions. The results reveal the maximum adsorption capacity of adsorbent for Pb2＋, Cu2＋, Cd2＋ and Ni2＋ were 224.72, 156.74, 118.34 and 53.02 mg/g, respectively. The effects of contact time and pH value of solutions on the adsorption effi- ciency of the zeolite were evaluated. Besides, The equilibrium adsorption data and the batch kinetic data were correlated with Langmuir and Freundlich models and the pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order models separately. The results show that the Langmuir isotherm and the pseudo-second-order equation were more suitable for the adsorption of Na-A zeolite for the metal ions. In addition, Thermodynamic parameters of the adsorption（the Gibbs free energy, entropy, and enthalpy） were also evaluated and discussed. The results demonstrate that the adsorption process was spontaneous and endothermic under natural conditions and the synthesized zeolite was an effective adsorbent for the removal of metal ions from aqueous solution.

BACKGROUND Ghost cell odontogenic carcinoma(GCOC) is a rare malignant odontogenic epithelial tumor with features of benign calcifying odontogenic cysts. Herein, we report two new cases of GCOC and systematically review the previous *** SUMMARY In case 1, a 46-year-old man complained of painless swelling of the right maxilla for 3 years, with a 1-mo history of hemorrhinia in the right nasal cavity. In case 2,a 72-year-old man was referred to our hospital with a chief complaint of painful swelling of the right mandible. Initially, the preliminary diagnoses were ameloblastomas. Thus, the two patients underwent resection of the tumor under general anesthesia. Finally, immunohistochemical examination confirmed the diagnosis of GCOC. The patient in case 1 was followed for 2 years, with no evidence of recurrence. However, the patient in case 2 was lost to *** GCOC is a rare malignant odontogenic epithelial tumor with high *** extensive resection is necessary for the definitive treatment of GCOC.

The West Kunlun orogenic belt(WKOB) along the northern margin of the Tibetan Plateau is important for understanding the evolution of the Proto-and Paleo-Tethys oceans. Previous investigations have focused on the igneous rocks and ophiolites distributed mostly along the Xinjiang-Tibet road and the China-Pakistan road, and have constructed a preliminary tectonic model for this orogenic belt. However, few studies have focused on the so-called Precambrian basement in this area. As a result, the tectonic affinity of the individual terranes of the WKOB and their detailed evolution process are uncertain. Here we report new field observations, zircon and monazite U-Pb ages of the "Precambrian basement" of the South Kunlun terrane(SKT) and the Tianshuihai terrane(TSHT), two major terranes in the WKOB. Based on new zircon U-Pb age data, the amphibolite-facies metamorphosed volcanosedimentary sequence within SKT was deposited during the late Neoproterozoic to Cambrian(600-500 Ma), and the flysch-affinity Tianshuihai Group, as the basement of the TSHT, was deposited during the late Neoproterozoic rather than Mesoproterozoic. The rock association of the volcano-sedimentary sequence within SKT suggests a large early Paleozoic accretionary wedge formed by the long-term lowangle southward subduction of the Proto-Tethys Ocean between Tarim and TSHT. The amphibolitefacies metamorphism in SKT occurred at ca. 440 Ma. This ca. 440 Ma metamorphism is genetically related to the closure of the Proto-Tethys Ocean between Tarim and the Tianshuihai terrane, which led to the assembly of Tarim to Eastern Gondwana and the final formation of the Gondwana. Since the late Paleozoic to early Mesozoic, the northward subduction of the Paleo-Tethys Ocean along the HongshihuQiaoertianshan belt produced the voluminous early Mesozoic arc-signature granites along the southern part of NKT-TSHT.
