Vitamin E(VE) is an essential lipid-soluble vitamin that improves the fish flesh quality. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain unclear. This study aimed to investigate the effects of VE on growth performance and flesh quality in sub-adult grass carp(Ctenopharyngodon idella). A total of 450fish(713.53 ± 1.50 g) were randomly divided into six treatment groups(three replicates per treatment)and fed for nine weeks with different experimental diets(dietary lipid 47.8 g/kg) that contained different levels of VE(5.44, 52.07, 96.85, 141.71, 185.66, and 230.12 mg/kg diet, supplemented as dl-a-tocopherol acetate). Notably, the treatment groups that were fed with dietary VE ranging from 52.07 to230.12 mg/kg diet showed improvement in the percent weight gain, special growth rate, and feed efficiency of grass carp. Moreover, the treatment groups supplemented with dietary VE level of 141.71,185.66, and 230.12 mg/kg diet showed enhancement in crude protein, lipid, and a-tocopherol contents in the muscle, and the dietary levels of VE ranging from 52.07 to 141.71 mg/kg diet improved muscle pH24h and shear force but reduced muscle cooking loss in grass carp. Furthermore, appropriate levels of VE(52.07 to 96.85 mg/kg diet) increased the muscle polyunsaturated fatty acid content in grass carp. Dietary VE also increased the mRNA levels of fatty acid synthesis-related genes, including fas, scd-1, fad,elovl, srebp1, pparγ, and lxra, and up-regulated the expression of SREBP-1 protein. However, dietary VE decreased the expression of fatty acid decomposition-related genes, including hsl, cpt1, acox1, and ppara,and endoplasmic reticulum stress-related genes, including perk, ire1, atf6, eif2a, atf4, xbp1, chop, and grp78, and down-regulated the expression of p-PERK, p-IRE1, ATF6, and GRP78 proteins. Cu-rich cell boundary phase is difficult to precipitate evenly,resulting in a generally poor demagnetization curve squareness for Fe-rich Sm_(2)Co_(17)-type magnet,which is a key factor limiting the further improvement of magnetic energy *** this study,we report that nanoscale strip-like ordered micro-domains distributed in1:7H disordered matrix phase of the solid solution precursor is a new factor significantly affecting the precipitation and distribution of the cell boundary *** strip-like and continuous micro-twin structure with twin boundaries neatly perpendicular to the C-axis is observed after sintering *** solution treatment,sequential and long strip-like micro-twins gradually transform into disordered state along the basal plane,forming narrow disordered 1:7H(TbCu_(7)-type structure)phase between the separated strip-like ordered *** disordering transformation takes place via broken down of the long strip-like ordered micro-domains,which is accomplished by narrowing along the width direction followed by reduction of the ***,a new model revealing the effect of the ordered micro-domains on the formation of the cell boundary phase is *** boundaries enriched in Cu have already existed in the precursor with long strip-like ordered ***,the Cu-rich cell boundary phase acting as strong pinning centers cannot be precipitated homogeneously and distributed continuously after aging,resulting in a poor demagnetization curve squareness of Sm_(2)Co_(17)-type *** results indicate that significant broken down of the nanoscale ordered micro-domains in solution precursor is the key factor improving the distribution of cell boundary phase in Sm_(2)Co_(17)-type magnets.

In this study, a high-carbon nano-bainitic GCr15Si1Mo bearing steel was investigated. Specifically, the effects of content and size of undissolved carbides on the microstructure and transformation kinetics of nano-bainite were analyzed. The results demonstrated that after prolonged austempering at low temperatures, the mixed microstructure composed of nano-bainite (NB), undissolved carbides (UC), and retained austenite (RA) was obtained in GCr15SiMo steel. When the experimental steel was austenitized at 900 ℃, the undissolved carbides gradually dissolved until reaching a stable state with increasing holding time. Furthermore, at the same austempering temperature, despite different volume fractions of undissolved carbides in the substrate, the volume fractions of nano-bainite in the final microstructures remained essentially the same. Moreover, the higher the content of undissolved carbides in steel, the faster the transformation rate of nano-bainite and the shorter the total transformation time.

Photoacoustic agents combining photodynamic therapy(PDT) and photothermal therapy(PTT) functions have emerged as potent theranostic agents for combating cancer. The molecular approaches for enhancing the near-infrared(NIR)-absorption and maximizing non-radiative energy transfer are essential for effective photoacoustic imaging(PAI) and therapy applications. In addition, such molecules with high specificity and affinity to cancer cells are urgently needed, which would further decrease the side effect during treatments. In this study, we applied a heavy-atom engineering strategy and introduced p-aminophenol,-thio, and-seleno moieties into NIR heptamethine cyanine(Cy7) skeleton(Cy7-X-NH_(2), X = O, S, Se) to significantly increase photothermal conversion efficiency for PTT and promote intersystem crossing for ***, we designed a series of nitroreductase(NTR)-activated photoacoustic probes(Cy7-X-NO_(2),X = O, S, Se), and target hypoxic tumors with NTR overexpression. Our prostate cancer targeting probe,Cy7-Se-NO_(2)-KUE, exhibited specific tumor photoacoustic signals and effective tumor killing through outstanding synergistic PTT/PDT in vivo. These findings highlighted a versatile strategy for cancer photoacoustic diagnosis and enhanced phototherapy.

BACKGROUND Multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria,exacerbated by excessive use of antimicrobials and immunosuppressants,are a major health *** To study the clinical efficacy and safety of colistin sulfate in the treatment of carbapenem-resistant Gram-negative bacilli-induced pneumonia,and to provide theoretical reference for clinical diagnosis and *** This retrospective analysis involved 54 patients with Gram-negative bacilli pneumonia admitted to intensive care unit of The General Hospital of the Northern Theater Command of the People's Liberation Army of China from August 2020 to June *** bacteriological culture,the patients'airway secretions were collected to confirm the presence of Gram-negative *** patients were divided into the experimental and control groups according to the medication *** research group consisted of 28 patients who received polymyxin sulfate combined with other drugs through intravenous,nebulization,or intravenous combined with nebulization,with a daily dosage of 1.5–3.0 million *** control group consisted of 26 patients who received standard dosages of other antibiotics(including sulbactam sodium for injection,cefoperazone sodium sulbactam for injection,tigecycline,meropenem,or vaborbactam).RESULTS Of the 28 patients included in the research group,26 patients showed improvement,treatment was ineffective for two patients,and one patient died,with the treatment efficacy rate of 92.82%.Of the 26 patients in the control group,18 patients improved,treatment was ineffective for eight patients,and two patients died,with the treatment efficacy rate of 54.9%;significant difference was observed between the two groups(P<0.05).The levels of white blood cell(WBC),procalcitonin(PCT),and C-reactive protein(CRP)in both groups were significantly lower after treatment than before treatment(P<0.05),and the levels of WBC,PCT,and CRP in the research group were significantly lower than those in the control group

The corrosion behavior of high-strength low-alloy 921A steel in a simulated marine atmospheric environment was studied using a high-throughput experimental *** corrosion behavior,corrosion morphology,and corrosion products of 921A steels were analyzed using various techniques,including corrosion mass loss method,polarization curve,white-light interferometry,scanning electron microscopy,energy-dispersive spectrometry,microbeam X-ray fluorescence spectrometry,X-ray diffraction technique,and X-ray photoelectron *** test results indicated that 921A steel exhibits better corrosion resistance than Q450NQR1 steel in simulated harsh atmospheric environments,as evidenced by a lower corrosion mass loss rate throughout the corrosion *** corrosion products of both steels consisted ofα-FeOOH,Fe_(3)O_(4),andγ-FeOOH,withα-FeOOH being more prevalent in the rust layer of 921A steel than in Q450NQR1 *** inner rust layer of 921A steel also exhibited an appositional enrichment region of Cr,Ni,Mo,and V,leading to its superior corrosion resistance compared to that of Q450NQR1 *** efficacy of high-throughput accelerated corrosion experimental methods was highlighted for evaluating the corrosion resistance of steel materials in harsh environmental *** findings suggest that 921A steel exhibits better corrosion resistance compared to Q450NQR1 steel and has the potential to be more suitable in harsh marine atmospheric *** characterization of the rust layer structures and composition reveals the parallel enrichment of certain elements in the inner rust layer of 921A steel,which enhances its corrosion resistance.

BACKGROUND Over 90%of rectal cancer patients develop low anterior resection syndrome(LARS)after sphincter-preserving *** current globally recognized evaluation method has many drawbacks and its subjectivity is too strong,which hinders the research and treatment of *** To evaluate the anorectal function after colorectal cancer surgery by quantifying the index of magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)defecography,and pathogenesis of *** We evaluated 34 patients using the standard LARS score,and a new LARS evaluation index was established using the dynamic images of MRI defecography to verify the LARS *** In the LARS score model,there were 10(29.41%)mild and 24(70.58%)severe cases of *** comparison of defecation rate between the two groups was 29.36±14.17%versus 46.83±18.62%(P=0.004);and MRI-rectal compliance(MRI-RC)score was 3.63±1.96 versus 7.0±3.21(P=0.001).Severe and mild LARS had significant differences using the two evaluation *** was a significant negative correlation between LARS and MRI-RC score(P<0.001),and they had a negative correlation with defecation rate(P=0.028).CONCLUSION MRI defecography and standard LARS score can both be used as an evaluation index to study the pathogenesis of LARS.
