Risk of infection with arboviruses in a healthy population in Pakistan based on seroprevalence

Infectious diseases caused by arboviruses are a public health concern in Pakistan. However, studies on data prevalence and threats posed by arboviruses are limited. This study investigated the seroprevalence of arboviruses in a healthy population in Pakistan, including severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (SFTSV), Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus (CCHFV), Tamdy virus (TAMV), and Karshi virus (KSIV) based on a newly established luciferase immunoprecipitation system (LIPS) assays, and Zika virus (ZIKV) by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA). Neutralizing activities against these arboviruses were further examined from the antibody positive samples. The results showed that the seroprevalence of SFTSV, CCHFV, TAMV, KSIV, and ZIKV was 17.37%, 7.58%, 4.41%, 1.10%, and 6.48%, respectively, and neutralizing to SFTSV (1.79%), CCHFV (2.62%), and ZIKV (0.69%) were identified, as well as to the SFTSV-related Guertu virus (GTV, 0.83%). Risk factors associated with the incidence of exposure and levels of antibody response were analyzed. Moreover, co-exposure to different arboviruses was demonstrated, as thirty-seven individuals were having antibodies against multiple viruses and thirteen showed neutralizing activity. Males, individuals aged <= 40 years, and outdoor workers had a high risk of exposure to arboviruses. All these results reveal the substantial risks of infection with arboviruses in Pakistan, and indicate the threat from co-exposure to multiple arboviruses. The findings raise the need for further epidemiologic investigation in expanded regions and populations and the necessity to improve health surveillance in Pakistan.

Thermal Decomposition Kinetics of Some Di- and Triorganotin（IV） Carboxylates Derived from para-Nitrophenylethanoic Acid

Thermogravimetric （TG） investigations of organotin（IV） carboxylates with the general formula RmSnL4-m （where R=CH3, C2H5, n-C4H9, C6H5, cyclo-C6H11, n-C8H17, m=2, 3, and L=para-nitrophenylethanoate anion） have been performed. Derivative thermogravimetry （DTG） and differential thermal analysis （DTA） techniques, Horowitz-Metzger method and the fundamental thermodynamic relations are used to evaluate the thermokinetic pa- rameters of each thermal degradation pattern. Results reveal that the thermal stability is functional to Sn--C and Sn--O bonds. In the case of R2SnL2, activation energy, reaction order and pre-exponential factor associated with the bulk degradation processes increase as the alkane chain length increases. Hence, Oct2SnL2 is thermally more stable than Bu2SnL2, which in turn is more resistant to thermal dissociation than Et2SnL2. The same phenomenon is not observed for R3SnL compounds because their degradation is highly irregular. Furthermore, R2SnL2 has larger values of kinetic parameters than those of corresponding triorganotin（IV） para-nitrophenylethanotes. Thermodynamic parameters of these compounds also reinforce the above facts.

The mud crab Scylla paramamosain is a key species in China due to its high nutritional value and great economic worth and has grown in ***-inositol can modulate versatile physiological functions in aquatic *** the present study,*** megalopa were given graded concentrations of myo-inositol(0,1,2,4,and 8 ppm)by water immersion to explore how their metamorphosis would be *** results showed that supplementing with myo-inositol remarkably increased transformation and survival rate from megalopa to crablet by at least 1.16 and 1.26 times,*** decipher the molecular mechanism of how myo-inositol increases metamorphosis and survival rate,we further performed transcriptome-based gene expression profiling of both megalopa and crablet treated with *** integrative transcriptome analyses predicted that the differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were significantly enriched in chitinase activity,structural constituent of cuticle,and chitin binding,which are associated with the decomposition and reconstruction of *** results confirmed that myo-inositol mediated gene expression levels of the above cuticle-related *** the importance of the cuticle in exoskeleton formation and molting,it can be concluded that myo-inositol-induced changes in the cuticle decomposition and reconstruction might have accelerated the transformation from megalopa to crablet of ***,numerous DEGs were significantly enriched in protein digestion and absorption,amino sugar and nucleotide sugar *** implies that myo-inositol may improve survival by regulating energy or nutrient ***,the accelerated metamorphosis by myo-inositol may improve survival from megalopa to crablet of ***,this study will provide the first insights into the underlying molecular mechanisms by which myo-inositol increases metamorphosis and survival.

This study was planned to examine the effects of exogenous silicon supply on growth parameters and arsenic accumulation level in rice. The experiment was conducted in the wire house of Saline Agriculture Research Centre, Institute of Soil and Environmental Science, University of Agriculture Faisalabad. The study was comprised of treatments viz: control;(100 μM Arsenic);(200 μM Arsenic);(5 mM Silicon);(5 mM Silicon + 100 μM Arsenic) and (5 mM Silicon + 200 μM Arsenic). Results revealed that maximum shoot fresh weight, shoot dry weight, root fresh weight and root dry weight were observed in (5 mM Si) solution. In the same way, maximum number of tillers was also recorded in (5 mM Si) solution;while silicon application failed to alleviate arsenic concentration of rice genotype.
