Structural parameters improvement of an integrated HBT in a cascode configuration opto-electronic mixer

We analyze an integrated electrically pumped opto-electronic mixer, which consists of two InP/GalnAs hetero junction bipolar transistors （HBT）, in a cascode configuration. A new HBT with modified physical structure is proposed and simulated to improve the frequency characteristics of a cascode mixer. For the verification and calibrating software simulator, we compare the simulation results of a typical HBT, before modifying it and com paring it with empirical reported experiments. Then we examine the simulator on our modified proposed HBT to prove its wider frequency characteristics with better flatness and acceptable down conversion gain. Although the idea is examined in several GHz modulation, it may easily be extended to state of the art HBT cascode mixers in much higher frequency range.

Because of its ease of implementation,a linear PID controller is generally used to control robotic *** controllers cannot effectively cope with uncertainties and variations in the parameters;therefore,nonlinear controllers with robust performance which can cope with these are *** sliding mode control(SMC)is a robust state feedback control method for nonlinear systems that,in addition having a simple design,efficiently overcomes uncertainties and disturbances in the *** also has a very fast transient response that is desirable when controlling robotic *** most critical drawback to SMC is chattering in the control input *** solve this problem,in this study,SMC is used with a boundary layer(SMCBL)to eliminate the chattering and improve the performance of the *** proposed SMCBL was compared with inverse dynamic control(IDC),a conventional nonlinear control *** kinematic and dynamic equations of the IRB-120 robot manipulator were initially extracted completely and accurately,and then the control of the robot manipulator using SMC was *** validation,the proposed control method was implemented on a 6-DOF IRB-120 robot manipulator in the presence of *** results were simulated,tested,and compared in the MATLAB/Simulink *** further validate our work,the results were tested and confirmed experimentally on an actual IRB-120 robot manipulator.

Investigating the Relationship Between Emotional Intelligence and Personality Types Among Nursing Candidates in Ardebil University, in Iran

Personality characteristics of each people are unique. It seems that these features of personality have an impact on emotional intelligence and ability to interact with people in a social environment. This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence and personality types of nursing students. The research was descriptive and correlative. The study population consisted of Ardebil University of senior nursing candidates in 2011-2012. The study sample included 125 people. Assessment tools were the Bar-on Emotional Intelligence Inventory and MBTI （Myers-Briggs Type Indicator） personality type questionnaire. The data were analyzed by SPSS 20 （T-test, analysis of variance, Pearson correlation and multiple regression with significant level P〈0 .05）. Pearson correlation coefficients showed there is a significant inverse between variables extroversion-introversion and emotional intelligence with level of .01 （r=-522）. Therefore, personality characteristics impact on emotional intelligence of students. Thus, more research of emotional intelligence and personality characteristics is necessary at different levels to selection for nursing profession.

An Investigation into the Effect of Porous Medium on Performance of Heat Exchanger

In this paper, a detailed numerical investigation of two-dimensional laminar forced convection in a porous channel with inlet and outlet slot is presented. A uniform heat flux is applied on one wall of channel and another wall is isolated. The flow in the porous medium is modeled using the Brinkman-Forchheimer-extended Darcy model in which the inertia and boundary effects are taken into consideration and thermal dispersion effects are not included in the energy equation. Parametric studies are conducted to evaluate the effects of particle diameter, Reynolds number on the heat transfer and friction factor. Nusselt number and friction factor are developed for efficient design of a porous heat exchanger based on the present configuration. In order to solve this problem Fluent software was used.

In this paper, Al-doped ZnO (AZO) films have been deposited by RF sputtering at room temperature with thickness 300 nm from an Aluminium Zinc Oxide target in Argon 99.99% ambient and without substrate heating with RF power of 300 watt. After deposition, the samples have been annealed at temperatures ranging from 300 to 500 o C in vacuum for 1h. The effect of flow rate of the Argon gas and annealing, on the Structural properties and grain size have been investigated by XRD using Cu(Ka1) radiation (λ= 0.154056 nm) in θ-2θ scan mode. It is shown that the structural properties and grain size of the AZO thin films are dependent on the flow rate of the Argon gas. The experimental results show that good qualities of crystalline structure appeared when AZO film prepared by flow rate of Argon gas 10 SCCM. But the effect of annealing on the structural properties of the AZO thin films is low. A high degree of preferred orientation which depends on the various flow rate of argon gas is exhibited. The θ-2θ scan data of AZO films exhibit a strong 2θ peaks at nearby 34.53°, corresponding to the (002) peaks of AZO. It is indicated that the film is a crystalline with a preferential orientation along c-axis. There is a 2% variation in 2θ peaks of AZO films. (i.e. 34.53°± 2%) have been prepared at various flow rate and annealing temperature.
