FUSCA3(FUS3)is a member of B3-domain transcription factor family and master regulator of seed *** has potential roles in hormone biosynthesis and signaling pathways and therefore plays diverse roles in plant life cycle,especially in seed germination,dormancy,embryo formation,seed and fruit development,and ***,there is limited information about its functions in seed and fruit development of *** this study,we expressed VvFUS3 in tomato for its functional *** of VvFUS3 in tomato led to a reduction in seed number and seed weight without affecting the fruit *** analysis found that both cell expansion and cell division in transgenic seed and fruit pericarp have been ***,there were no obvious differences in pollen size,shape,and viability,suggesting that VvFUS3 affects seed development but not the pollen ***,the expression of several genes with presumed roles in seed development and hormone signaling pathways was also influenced by *** results suggest that VvFUS3 is involved in hormonal signaling pathways that regulate seed number and *** conclusion,our study provides novel preliminary information about the pivotal roles of VvFUS3 in seed and fruit development and these findings can potentially serve as a reference for molecular breeding of seedless grapes.

The Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation for dust ion-acoustic solitons in pair-ion plasmas

Using the reductive perturbation method,we have derived the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili（KP） equation to study the nonlinear properties of electrostatic collisionless dust ion-acoustic solitons in pair-ion（p-i） *** have chosen the fluid model for the positive ions,the negative ions,and a fraction of static charged（both positively and negatively） dust *** solutions of these dust ion-acoustic solitons are plotted and their characteristics are *** is found that only the amplitudes of the electrostatic dust ion-acoustic solitons vary when the dust is introduced in the pair-ion *** is also noticed that the amplitude and the width of these solitons both vary when the thermal energy of the positive or negative ions is *** is shown that potential hump structures are formed when the temperature of the negative ions is higher than that of the positive ions,and potential dip structures are observed when the temperature of the positive ions supersedes that of the negative *** the pair-ion plasma mimics the electron-positron plasma,thus our results might be helpful in understanding the nonlinear dust ion acoustic solitary waves in super dense astronomical bodies.

Impact of climate change on sediment yield for Naran watershed,Pakistan

Electrostatic Dust Acoustic Solitons in Pair-Ion-Electron Plasmas

Using the reductive perturbation method,a Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation is derived to study the nonlinear properties of electrostatic collisionless dust acoustic solitons in pair-ion-electron (p-i-e) *** Buid model is chosen for positive ions,negative ions,and the fraction of electrons and charged (both positive and negative)dynamic dust *** is realized that electrostatic hump structures can be found when the dust particles are positively charged,and electrostatic dip structures can be detected for negatively charged dust *** solutions for these dust acoustic solitous are plotted and their characteristics are *** is found that the amplitude and width of the electrostatic dust acoustic solitons increase when the density of the dust particles and/or the temperature of the negative ions increases,and that the amplitude and width of these solitons decrease when the temperature of the positive ions *** pair-ion plasmas mimic electron-positron plasmas,our results might be helpful in understanding the nonlinear dust acoustic solitary waves in super dense astronomical bodies like neutron stars.

Quantum spin Hall and quantum valley Hall effects in trilayer graphene and their topological structures

The present study pertains to the trilayer graphene in the presence of spin orbit coupling to probe the quantum spin/valley Hall effect. The spin Chern-number Cs for energy-bands of trilayer graphene having the essence of intrinsic spin-orbit coupling is analytically calculated. We find that for each valley and spin, Cs is three times larger in trilayer graphene as compared to single layer graphene. Since the spin Chern-number corresponds to the number of edge states, consequently the trilayer graphene has edge states, three times more in comparison to single layer graphene. We also study the trilayer graphene in the presence of both electric-field and intrinsic spin-orbit coupling and investigate that the trilayer graphene goes through a phase transition from a quantum spin Hall state to a quantum valley Hall state when the strength of the electric field exceeds the intrinsic spin coupling strength. The robustness of the associated topological bulk-state of the trilayer graphene is evaluated by adding various perturbations such as Rashba spin-orbit （RSO） interaction αR, and exchange-magnetization M. In addition, we consider a theoretical model, where only one of the outer layers in trilayer graphene has the essence of intrinsic spin-orbit coupling, while the other two layers have zero intrinsic spin-orbit coupling. Although the first Chern number is non-zero for individual valleys of trilayer graphene in this model, however, we find that the system cannot be regarded as a topological insulator because the system as a whole is not gaped.

Tectonic Imprints of the Hazara Kashmir Syntaxis on the Mesozoic Rocks Exposed in Munda, Mohmand Agency, Northwest Pakistan

Two well-developed mesoscopic folds, D_2 and D_3, which postdate the middle amphibolite metamorphism, were recognized in the western hinterland zone of Pakistan. NW–SE trending D_2 folds developed during NE–SW horizontal bulk shortening followed by NE–SW trending D_3 folds, which developed during SE–NW shortening. Micro- to mesoscopically the NW–SE trending S2 crenulation cleavage, boudins and mineral stretching lineations are overprinted by D_3. The newly established NW–SE trending micro- to mesoscopic structures in Munda termed D_2, which postdated F_1/F_2, is synchronously developed with F3 structures in the western hinterland zone of Pakistan. We interpret that D2 and D3 folds are counterclockwise rotated in the tectonic event that has evolved the Hazara Kashmir Syntaxis after the main phase Indian plate and Kohistan Island Arc collision. Chlorite replacement by biotite in the main matrix crenulation cleavages indicates prograde metamorphism related with D2. The inclusion of muscovite and biotite in garnet porphyroblasts and the presence of staurolite in these rocks indicate that the Barrovian metamorphic conditions predate D2 and D3. We interpret that garnet, staurolite and calcite porphyroblasts grew before D2 because the well developed S2 crenulation cleavage wraps around these porphyroblasts.

Gliomas are the most aggressive brain tumors caused by the abnormal growth of brain *** life expectancy of patients diagnosed with gliomas decreases *** gliomas are diagnosed in later stages,resulting in imminent *** average,patients do not survive 14 months after *** only way to minimize the impact of this inevitable disease is through early *** Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI)scans,because of their better tissue contrast,are most frequently used to assess the brain *** manual classification of MRI scans takes a reasonable amount of time to classify brain *** this,dealing with MRI scans manually is also cumbersome,thus affects the classification *** eradicate this problem,researchers have come up with automatic and semiautomatic methods that help in the automation of brain tumor classification ***,many techniques have been devised to address this issue,the existing methods still struggle to characterize the enhancing *** is because of low variance in enhancing region which give poor contrast in MRI *** this study,we propose a novel deep learning based method consisting of a series of steps,namely:data pre-processing,patch extraction,patch pre-processing,and a deep learning model with tuned hyper-parameters to classify all types of gliomas with a focus on enhancing *** trained model achieved better results for all glioma classes including the enhancing *** improved performance of our technique can be attributed to several ***,the non-local mean filter in the pre-processing step,improved the image detail while removing irrelevant ***,the architecture we employ can capture the non-linearity of all classes including the enhancing ***,the segmentation scores achieved on the Dice Similarity Coefficient(DSC)metric for normal,necrosis,edema,enhancing and non-enhancing tumor classes are 0.95,0.97,0.91,0.93,0.95;respectively.

Investigation of ZrO2 nanoparticles concentration and processing time effect on the localized PEO coatings formed on AZ91 alloy

AZ91 Mg alloy was treated through a new localized PEO(Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation)coating approach,using electrolyte solutions with varying ZrO2 nanoparticles concentration(2-8 g/L)and processing *** increase in the ZrO2 concentration,several microstructural changes were observed including;formation of cluster-type structure,damage to the inner layers(∼30 min)and sealing of *** analysis of the final coatings was carried out using potentiodynamic polarization,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and post-corrosion *** was explored that highest corrosion resistance(Rp∼81.17 kΩcm^2)of the coatings was obtained for ZrO2∼2 g/***,higher concentration of the ZrO2 nanoparticles caused weak crystalline coating structure,due to unstable and lower intensity discharges,thus failed to offer high corrosion resistance performance.

Hypoxia tolerance studies for yield,fiber and physiological traits in cotton(Gossypium hirsutum L.)

Background： Hypoxia tolerance studies in cotton are very rare in Pakistan. Unpredicted and excessive rainfalls result in severe losses to cotton crop in many regions of the country due to lack of hypoxia tolerance in current cotton varieties. The genotypes that can tolerate flooding are not reported earlier. The studies were conducted to explore hypoxia tolerance in local germplasm which will help to develop hypoxia tolerant cotton varieties. Method： An experiment with randomized complete different cotton varieties. The genotypes were given conditions. blocks was designed to study the hypoxia tolerance in two treatments i.e., water logged and non-water logged Results： The genotypes showed significant variability for yield, fiber and physiological traits. The hypoxia studies revealed that there is significant reduction for plant height in water sensitive genotype LRA-5166. The genotype MNH-786 showed better yield and MNH-556 showed superior ginning outturn percentage under water logged conditions. Staple length, strength and micronaire values also decreased under hypoxia. Similar pattern of negative effects were observed for Chlorophyll a, b contents and chl a/b ratio. Two hypoxia tolerant cultivars CIM-573 and MNH-564 had significantly higher chlorophyll a （1.664, 1.551） than other cultivars under both normal and waterlogged conditions. There was a significant decrease in total free amino acids in all genotypes/cultivars due to waterlogging. Free amino acid contents were significantly higher in two waterlogging sensitive cultivars, CEDIX and N-KRISHMA, than other cultivars under both non-waterlogged and waterlogged conditions. Waterlogging caused a significant reduction in shoot soluble proteins and increase in shoot proline. The genotype LRA-5166 was the highest in shoot soluble proteins content and showed significant decrease in shoot proline.
