Cerebral ischemia-reperfusion is a process in which the blood supply to the brain is temporarily interrupted and subsequently ***,it is highly likely to lead to further aggravation of pathological damage to ischemic tissues or the nervous system.,and has accordingly been a focus of extensive clinical *** a traditional Chinese medicinal formulation,Sanhua Decoction has gradually gained importance in the treatment of cerebrovascular *** main constituents include Citrus aurantium,Magnolia officinalis,rhubarb,and Qiangwu,which are primarily used to regulate *** the treatment of neurological diseases,the therapeutic effects of the Sanhua Decoction are mediated via different pathways,including antioxidant,anti-inflammatory,and neurotransmitter regu-latory pathways,as well as through the protection of nerve cells and a reduction in cerebral *** the studies conducted to date,many have found that the application of Sanhua Decoction in the treatment of neurological diseases has clear therapeutic *** addition,as a natural treatment,the Sanhua Decoction has received widespread attention,given that it is safer and more effective than traditional Western ***,research on the mechanisms of action and efficacy of the Sanhua Decoctions in the treatment of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury is of considerable *** this paper,we describe the pathogenesis of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury and review the current status of its treatment to examine the therapeutic mechanisms of action of the Sanhua *** hope that the findings of the research presented herein will contribute to a better understanding of the efficacy of this formulation in the treatment of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion,and provide a scientific basis for its application in clinical practice.

In addition to the cardinal motor symptoms,pain is a major non-motor symptom of Parkinson's disease(PD).Neuroinflammation in the substantia nigra pars compacta and dorsal striatum is involved in neurodegeneration in *** the polarization of microglia and astrocytes in the dorsal striatum and their contribution to motor deficits and hyperalgesia in PD have not been *** the present study,we observed that hemiparkinsonian mice established by unilateral 6-OHDA injection in the medial forebrain bundle exhibited motor deficits and mechanical *** these mice,both microglia and astrocytes in the dorsal striatum were activated and polarized to M1/M2 microglia and A1/A2 astrocytes as genes specific to these cells were *** effects peaked 7 days after 6-OHDA ***,striatal astrocytes in parkinsonian mice also displayed hyperpolarized membrane potentials,enhanced voltage-gated potassium currents,and dysfunction in inwardly rectifying potassium channels and glutamate *** administration of minocycline,a microglia inhibitor,attenuated the expression of genes specific to M1 microglia and A1 astrocytes in the dorsal striatum(but not those specific to M2 microglia and A2 astrocytes),attenuated the damage in the nigrostriatal dopaminergic system,and alleviated the motor deficits and mechanical allodynia in parkinsonian *** contrast,local administration of minocycline into the dorsal striatum of parkinsonian mice mitigated only *** study suggests that M1 microglia and A1 astrocytes in the dorsal striatum may play important roles in the development of pathophysiology underlying hyperalgesia in the early stages of PD.

Sorely reducing emissions of non-methane short-lived climate forcers will worsen compound flood-heatwave extremes in the Northern Hemisphere

Non-methane short-lived climate forcer(SLCF)or near-term climate forcer(NTCF)emissions,as a significant driver of climate change,can be reduced to improve air *** reductions may contribute to additional warming of the climate system in the short term,thereby strongly affecting the likelihood of climate ***,there has been no quantitative assessment of the impact of non-methane SLCF mitigation on compound flood-heatwave extremes(CFHEs).This study quantitatively investigates the changes in future(2031-2050 versus 1995-2014)CFHEs and the resulting population exposure in the Northern Hemisphere(NH)due to non-methane SLCF *** used multi-model ensemble simulations under two future scenarios from the Aerosol and Chemistry Model Intercomparison Project(AerChemMIP)in the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6(CMIP6).The two future scenarios share the same greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions but have weak(Shared Socioeconomic Pathway(SSP)3-7.0)versus strong(SSP3-7.0-lowNTCF)levels of air quality control *** results show that future non-methane SLCF reductions during 2031-2050 results in about a 7.3%±2.3%increase in grid exposure to CFHEs in the NH relative to the period *** frequency,intensity,and duration of CFHEs increase by varying *** the period 2031-2050,the frequency of CFHEs across the NH increases by 2.9±0.9 events per decade due to non-methane SLCF *** increases in CFHE frequency are more pronounced in East Asia,South Asia,Siberia,and northern and eastern North *** East and South Asia,the in-tensities of both heatwaves and floods corresponding to CFHEs increase markedly,where heatwave magnitude(HWM)increases by 0.3±0.2 K in East Asia and weighted average precipitation(WAP)increases by 18.3%±15.3%and 12.0%±4.5%in East Asia and South Asia,*** other regions,rising temperatures dominate the increase in *** regard to the duration of CFHEs,future reductions in non-methane SLC

The scaling relation of central massive black holes(M_(BH)s)and their host galaxies is well-studied for supermassive BHs(SM_(BH)s,M_(BH)≥10^(6)M_(⊙)).However,this relation has large uncertainties in the mass range of the intermediate-mass BHs(IM_(BH)s,M_(BH)~10^(3)-10^(6)M_(⊙)).Since Green pea(GP)galaxies are luminous compact dwarf galaxies,which may be likely to host less massive SM_(BH)s or even IM_(BH)s,we systematically search for M_(BH)s in a large sample of 2190 GP galaxies at zhas a median stellar mass of 108.83±0.11M_(⊙)and hosts M_(BH)s with single-epoch virial masses ranging from M_(BH)~10^(4.7)to 10^(8.5)M_(⊙)(median 105.85±0.64M_(⊙)).Among the 59 M_(BH) candidates,36 have black hole masses M_(BH)≤10^(6)M_(⊙)(IM_(BH) candidates),one of which even has M_(BH)■10^(5)M_(⊙).We find that the M_(BH)-M_(*)relation of our M_(BH) sample is consistent with the M_(BH)-M_(bulge)relation for SM_(BH)s,while is above the M_(BH)-M_(*)relation for M_(BH)s in dwarf galaxies in the same mass ***,we show that 25 M_(BH) candidates,including 4 IM_(BH) candidates,have additional evidence of black hole activities,assessed through various methods such as the broad-line width,BPT diagram,mid-infrared color,X-ray luminosity,and radio *** studies show that it is very promising to find IM_(BH)s in GP galaxies,and the BH sample so obtained enables us to probe the connection between the M_(BH)s and compact dwarf galaxies in the low-redshift Universe.
