Graphene and transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs), two-dimensional materials, have been investigated wildely in recent years. As a member of the TMD family, MoTe2 possesses a suitable bandgap of ~1.0 eV for near infrared(NiR)photodetection. Here we stack the MoTe2 flake with two graphene flakes of high carrier mobility to form a graphene–MoTe2–graphene heterostructure. it exhibits high photo-response to a broad spectrum range from 500 nm to 1300 nm. The photoresponsivity is calculated to be 1.6 A/W for the 750-nm light under 2 V/0 V drain–source/gate bias, and 154 ma/W for the 1100-nm light under 0.5 V/60 V drain–source/gate bias. Besides, the polarity of the photocurrent under zero Vds can be efficiently tuned by the back gate voltage to satisfy different applications. Finally, we fabricate a vertical graphene–MoTe2–graphene heterostructure which shows improved photoresponsivity of 3.3 A/W to visible light.

Papillary cystadenoma of the parotid gland: A case report

BACKGROUND Papillary cystadenoma is a rare benign epithelial tumor of the salivary gland,which is characterized by papillary structures and oncocytic cells with rich eosinophilic cytoplasm. We found only one case of papillary cystadenoma in nearly 700 cases of salivary gland tumors. Our case was initially mistaken for a tumor of the right temporomandibular joint(TMJ) capsule rather than of parotid gland origin. Preoperative magnetic resonance imaging(MRi) and computed tomography(CT) should be carefully studied, which allows for appropriate preoperative counseling and operative *** SUMmaRY Here, we report an unusual case of a 54-year-old woman with a parotid gland papillary cystadenoma(PGPC) that was misdiagnosed as a tumor of the right TMJ capsule. She was initially admitted to our hospital due to a mass anterior to her right ear inadvertently found 5 d ago. Preoperative CT and MRi revealed a well circumscribed tumor that was attached to the right TMJ capsule. The patient underwent a resection through an incision for TMJ, but evaluation of an intraoperative frozen section revealed a benign tumor of the parotid gland. Then we removed part of the parotid gland above the temporal facial trunk. The facial nerve was preserved. Postoperative histopathological findings revealed that the tumor was PGPC. No additional treatment was performed. There was no recurrence during a 20-mo follow-up *** The integrity of the interstitial space around the condyle in MRi or CT should be carefully evaluated for parotid gland or TMJ tumors.

Electrolytic manganese residue(EMR) is the waste slag generated from the electrolysis manganese *** a promising exploitable adsorbent,EMR has become a hot research ***,EMR’s low adsorption capacity has limited its applications as an efficient *** this study,the EMR was mixed with serpentine and calcined(at 800℃ for 2 h) to prepare a composite adsorbent(S-EMR) with its specific surface area of 11.998 m^(2)·g^(-1)(increased compared to the original EMR) and improved adsorption capacities for Cd^(2+)(98.05 mg·g^(-1)) and Pb^(2+)(565.81 mg·g^(-1)).Kinetic studies have shown that the pseudo-first-order kinetics(PSO)model could best describe the adsorption kinetics of S-EMR for Cd^(2+)/Pb^(2+),implying that the chemisorption process is the rate-limiting *** effects of different interfering ions on S-EMR’ s adsorption for Cd^(2+)/Pb^(2+)may be due to the difference in their *** of response surface methodology tests showed that pH had the highest influence on adsorption,and the removal efficiency of S-EMR reached 99.92% for Cd(Ⅱ) and 94.00%for Pb(Ⅱ).X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) analyses revealed that chemical precipitation was the predominant mechanism for Cd^(2+)/Pb^(2+)removal,and the adsorption mechanisms were associated with ion exchange and electrostatic *** results showed that S-EMR could be used as an effective adsorbent for the removal of Cd(Ⅱ)/Pb(Ⅱ) from water bodies,rendering dual benefits of pollution control and resource recovery.

Pyrethroid esters are widely used as insecticides worldwide. in this study, we aimed to evaluate the harmful effect of deltamethrin on the male reproductive system through the assessment of reproductive hormones, inflammatorymarkers, and testicular function. To achieve our aim, eighty male 7-9-week-old, Wistar rats were taken, weighed, and divided into four experimental groups. The first group was kept as a control group, and the other three groups were given deltamethrin orally at different concentrations (0.87, 8.7, and 17.4 mg/kg body weight) for nine weeks. The resultsindicated that deltamethrin administration associated with a significant decrease in reproductive hormones, especially FSH, LH, and significant elevation in the interleukin 2 (iL2), interleukin 6 (iL6), histamine, and cortisol levels. Also, thesignificance of inhibition of sperm motility and viability, decreased testis weights, sperm count, and fructose in semen were noted. These findings clarify the harmful effect of deltamethrin on the male reproductive system by producing a significant alteration in reproductive hormones, inflammatory markers as well as testicular function.

Multi-scale structures involved in emulsion and microsphere complex systems are presented and discussed. The stability and spatio-temporal structures of emulsions, as well as nano-structures formed on the surface of microspheres after polymerization, are affected by the molecular emulsifier/stabilizer structures and the adsorbed emulsifier/stabilizer nano-structures on the oil/water interface. The broad size distribution and variation of surface features of droplets are responsible for variations of the adsorbed emulsifier/stabilizer structures and the stability of the emulsions. On the other hand, preparation of a uniformly sized emulsion and employment of a combined emulsifier/stabilizer system can preserve the stability of the emulsions and microspheres. The above phenomena should be modeled by a multiscale method, in order to maintain the stability of individual emulsion systems and realize the desired nano-structures of microspheres by choosing adequate emulsifier/stabilizer and experimental parameters.

Background:Sand fly Phlebotomus chinensis is a principle vector for the visceral leishmaniasis(VL)in China with a wide geographic ***,Sichuan is a mountain type endemic area of VL in *** term effective control efforts in the region have successfully reduced VL *** assess the current status of the sand flies and their ecological aspects in the region,a survey was conducted in the summer of 2014 and ***:Sand fly specimens were collected by light traps in a village and blood sources were identified by PCR and sequencing of the mitochondrial cytochrome b ***:in a rock cave,65.2%–79.8%of collected sand flies were *** a rabbit farm,92.9%–98.8%of specimens were *** pig pens,61.1%of specimens were *** females had visible blood *** feeding rate was 49.4%from the pig pens,12.3%from the cave,and only 1.7%from the rabbit ***,rabbit,chicken,dog,and human blood were detected in the fed *** blood,present in all tested samples,was a preferred blood source,while chicken and dog blood were present in a third of the ***:in Jiuzhaigou County,Sichuan Province of China,the considerable sandfly density and the peridomestic feeding behavior all increases the risk of VL transmission,and insecticide spraying in animal sheds could be exploited to reduce sand fly populations in human surroundings.
