The polymeric gel electrolytes are attractive owing to their higher ionic conductivities tha. those of dry polymer electrolytes and lowered water activity for enlarged potential ***,the ionic conductivity and mecha.ical strength of the Na-ion conducting polymeric gel electrolytes are limited by below 20 mS cm−1 and 2.2 ***,we demonstrate Na-ion conducting and flexible polymeric hydrogel electrolytes of the chemically coupled poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride)-dextrin-N,N′-methylene-bisacrylamide film immersed in NaClO_(4) solution(ex-DDA-Dex+NaClO_(4))for flexible sodium-ion hybrid capacitors(f-NIHC).In particular,the anion excha.ge reaction and synergistic interaction of ex-DDA-Dex with the optimum ClO_(4)−enable to greatly improve the ionic conductivity up to 27.63 mS cm−1 at 25◦C and electrochemical stability window up to 2.6 V,whereas the double networking structure leads to achieve both the mecha.ical strength(7.48 MPa)and softness of hydrogel ***,the f-NIHCs with the ex-DDA-Dex+NaClO_(4) achieved high specific and high-rate capacities of 192.04 F g^(−1)at 500 mA g^(−1)and 116.06 F g^(−1)at 10000 mA g^(−1),respectively,delivering a large energy density of 120.03Wh kg^(−1)at 906Wkg^(−1)and long cyclability of 70%over 500 cycles as well as demonstrating functional operation under mecha.ical stresses.

Evaluation of the relationship between two different methods for enumeration fecal indicator bacteria: Colony-forming unit and most probable number

Most probable number （MPN） and colony-forming unit （CFU） estimates of fecal indicator bacteria （FIB） concentration are common measures of water quality in aquatic environments. Thus, FIB intensively monitored in Yeongsan Watershed in an attempt to compare two different methods and to develop a statistical model to convert from CFU to MPN estimates or vice versa. As a result, the significant difference was found in the MPN and CFU estimates. The enumerated Escherichia coli concentrations in MPN are greater tha. those in CFU, except for the measurement in winter. Especially in fall, E. coli concentrations in MPN are one order of magnitude greater tha. tha. in CFU. Contrarily, enterococci bacteria in MPN are lower tha. those in CFU. However, in general, a strongly positive relationship are found between MPN and CFU estimates. Therefore, the statistical models were developed, and showed the reasonable converting FIB concentrations from CFU estimates to MPN estimates. We expect this study will provide preliminary information towards future research on whether different analysis methods may result in different water quality standard violation frequencies for the same water sample.

To study wing-wake interaction for various wing flexibilities, force measurements and digital particle image velocimetry were carried out on flapping ha.kmoth-like wings in a water tank. Wing thickness was employed as a design variable for the wing flexi- bility distributions. Abrupt flap-down and pha.e delay in flexible wings influenced the beha.iors of the Leading-Edge Vortex （LEV） and Trailing-Edge Vortex （TEV）, generated by the previous stroke. While the rigid wing exhibited a detached LEV at the end of the stroke, wing with specific flexibilities obtained attached LEVs. The attached LEVs induced a relatively rapid flow toward the wing surface as a result of encountering the TEV, and the flow caused a higher lift peak. On the other ha.d, the wings with larger wing deformations generated distinctive cha.ges in LEV and TEV beha.iors. The flap-down helped the TEV form closer to the wing surface, and it thus caused a downwash rather tha. wing-wake interaction. Furthermore, the most flexible wing ha. a newly-formed pair of LEVs above the wing during the wing reversal, thereby being not able to generate the wing-wake interaction. These results help to understand the different vortex structures generated by flexible wings during the wing reversal and the corresponding effects of wing-wake interaction.

In this study, we assessed biochemical outcomes after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy （RARP）. Between July 2005 and November 2007, one hundred and seventy-six consecutive patients treated by RARP without neoadjuvant treatment were included in this study. All procedures were performed by a single surgeon and the median follow-up period was 60 months （interquartile range （IQR）： 59-69）. The median prostate specific antigen was 7.50 ng ml-1 （IQR： 5.14-11.45） and 39.2% of the patients were classified as intermediate risk and 15.3% were classified as high risk; on final pathological examination, 35.2% of the patients ha. non-organ confined disease and 37.5% and 14.2% ha. Gleason scores of 7 and 8-10, respectively. The biochemical recurrence （BCR）-free survival rates at 3 and 5 years were 85.6% and 81.2%, respectively. The 5-year BCR-free survival rates stratified by pathologic Gleason scores were 93.1% in Gleason scores of 6 or less, 74.5% in a Gleason score of 7, and 58.1% in Gleason scores of 8 or greater, respectively （P〈0.001）. When stratified by pathologic stage, the BCR-free survival rates were 89.8% in pT2 patients, 66.2% in pT3a patients, and 39.3% in pT3b patients at 5 years following RARP, respectively （P〈0.001）. Preoperative prostate-specific antigen （PSA）, pathologic stage, postoperative Gleason score and surgical margin status were independently associated with BCR in multivariate analysis. In this study, we report biochemical outcomes after RARP with the longest follow-up periods to date in Asian men. We found tha. robotic surgery provided satisfactory biochemical outcomes, and tha. RARP is a safe and effective procedure in terms of oncologic outcomes.

Plasma thermal spraying ofSi coating layer ontitanium-zirconium-molybdenum （Ti-Zr-Mo）,TZM alloy,was conducted for the surface protection of the Mo substrate tha. is unstable in air at high temperatures. Although the plasma thermal spraying alone could protect the Mo alloy from oxidation at a high temperature for a short time, the post laser surface melting process further improved the oxidation resistance of Si-coated alloy. In the case of the post laser treated specimen,MoSi compounds, mainly MoSi2 pha.es, were formed during the additional annealing process, and the oxidation resistance could be even further enha.ced. The corrosion beha.iors of Si-coated specimens in 3.5%NaCl solution were also investigated;however,nosignificant variations with respect to the post treatment procedure were found.
