Managing microtia patients is always a challenge. Multidisciplinary approach, good family support, well established doctorepatient rela-tionship and well organised patient-support groups are the essential elements for success. With the advancement of implantable hearing devices, more options will be available for the microtia patients. Otologists play a leading role in the whole management process. They not only provide proper guidance to the patients in choosing the correct path of the treatment, but also play a key role in organising and maintaining a cost-effective multidisciplinary rehabilitation team for the microtia patients.

The Mesta-Nestos river basin in Bulgaria and Greece is a case study for transboundary decision-making support in south-eastern Europe and a show-case for the development of methodologies and information-gathering for the integrated regional planning of water resources. Land-use conflicts in this water-scarce region cover a wide spectrum of activities like agricultural irrigation, drinking water production, diversions for industrial water, and risk of pollution from mining, to name a few examples. Measurements of the water quality were carried out in the upper basin. Results will be illustrated by the example of the environmental situation in the alpine region of the Pirin National Park as well as in the Razlog Basin with a stronger anthropogenic impact and pollution around a former uranium mine near the village of Elesnica. The social and economic development of this transboundary region is a recently established priority for mean an increase in water usage the water resources if regional the future. It will and more stress for impacts of global climate change are verified. Problem-focused management of the catchment area as a whole on the basis of proved geo-data sets is needed for the future.

Coral reefs in the Negril Marine Park （NMP）, Jamaica, have been increasingly impacted by nutrient pollution and macroalgal blooms following decades of intensive development as a major tourist destination. A baseline survey of DIN and SRP concentrations, C：N：P and stable nitrogen isotope ratios （δ^15N） of abundant reef macroalgae on shallow and deep reefs of the NMP in 1998 showed strong P-limitation and evidence of increasing sewage pollution. In 1999, a sewage collection and treatment project began diverting wastewater from the resort and urban areas to a pond system that discharged partially-treated effluent into the South Negril River （SNR）. These sewage discharges significantly increased concentrations of NH2 and SRP （N：P -13） in the SNR, which flows into Long Bay and around Negril＇s ＂West End＂. Concentrations of SRP, the primary limiting nutrient, were higher on shallow reefs of the West End in 2001 compared to 1998. Stable nitrogen isotope ratios （δ^15N） of abundant reef macroalgae on both shallow and deep reefs of the West End in 2002 were significantly higher than baseline values in 1998, indicating an escalating impact of sewage nitrogen pollution over this timeframe. The increased nutrient concentrations and δ^15N enrichment of reef macroalgae correlated with blooms of the chlorophyte Chaetornorpha linum in shallow waters of Long Bay and Codium isthrnocladum and Caulerpa cupressoides on deep reefs of the West End. Sewage treatment systems adjacent to coral reefs must include nutrient removal to ensure that DIN and SRP concentrations, after dilution, are below the low thresholds noted for these oligotrophic ecosystems.

Safety assessment of Bifidobacterium longum JDM301 based on complete genome sequences

AIM： To assess the safety of Bifidobacterium/ongum （B. longum） JDM301 based on complete genome sequences. METHODS： The complete genome sequences of JDM301 were determined using the GS 20 system. Putative virulence factors, putative antibiotic resis- tance genes and genes encoding enzymes respon- sible for harmful metabolites were identified by blast with virulence factors database, antibiotic resistance genes database and genes associated with harmful metabolites in previous reports. Minimum inhibitory concentration of 16 common antimicrobial agents was evaluated by E-test RESULTS： JDM301 was shown to contain 36 genes as- sociated with antibiotic resistance, 5 enzymes related to harmful metabolites and 162 nonspecific virulence fac- tors mainly associated with transcriptional regulation, adhesion, sugar and amino acid transport. B. longum JDM301 was intrinsically resistant to ciprofloxacin, ami- kacin, gentamicin and streptomycin and susceptible to vancomycin, amoxicillin, cephalothin, chloramphenicol, erythromycin, ampicillin, cefotaxime, rifampicin, imi- penem and trimethoprim-sulphamethoxazol. JDM301 was moderately resistant to bacitracin, while an earlier study showed that bifidobacteria were susceptible to this antibiotic. A tetracycline resistance gene with the risk of transfer was found in JDM301, which needs to be experimentally validated. CONCLUSION： The safety assessment of JDM301 using information derived from complete bacterial ge- nome will contribute to a wider and deeper insight into the safety of probiotic bacteria.

Renewable energy is a safe and limitless energy source that can be utilized for heating,cooling,and other *** energy is one of the most important renewable energy *** fluctuation of wind turbines occurs due to variation of wind velocity.A wind cube is used to decrease power fluctuation and increase the wind turbine’s *** optimum design for a wind cube is the main contribution of this *** decisive design parameters used to optimize the wind cube are its inner and outer radius,the roughness factor,and the height of the wind turbine hub.A Gradient-Based Optimizer(GBO)is used as a new metaheuristic algorithm in this *** objective function of this research includes two parts:the first part is to minimize the probability of generated energy loss,and the second is to minimize the cost of the wind turbine and wind *** Gradient-Based Optimizer(GBO)is applied to optimize the variables of two wind turbine types and the design of the wind *** metrological data of the Red Sea governorate of Egypt is used as a case study for this *** on the results,the optimum design of a wind cube is achieved,and an improvement in energy produced from the wind turbine with a wind cube will be compared with energy generated without a wind *** energy generated from a wind turbine with the optimized cube is more than 20 times that of a wind turbine without a wind cube for all cases studied.

Variation of Bioactive Compounds in Hypericum perforatum Growing in Turkey During Its Phenological Cycle

The present study was conducted to determine phenologic and morphogeneUc variation of hyperlcln, chlorogenlc acid and flavonoids, as rutin, hyperoside, apigenin-7-O-glucoside, quercitrin, quercetin content of Hypericum perforatum L. growing in Turkey. Wild growing plants were harvested at vegetative, floral budding, full flowering, fresh frulUng and mature fruiting stages and dissected into stem, leaf and reproductive tissues and assayed for bioacUve compounds by the High performance liquid chromatography （HPLC） method. Hypericin concentration ranged between 0 and 2.73 mg/g DW, chlorogenic acid 0.00-3.64 mg/g DW, rutin 0.00-3.36 mg/g DW, hyperoside 0.04- 22.42 mg/g DW, quercitrin 0.03-3.46 mg/g DW and quercetin 0.04-1.02 mg/g DW depending on ontogenetic and morphogenetic sampling. Leaves were found to be superior to stems and reproductive parts with regard to phenolic accumulation for all compounds tested while flowers accumulated the highest levels of hypericln. Quercltrln, quercetln and hypericin content in all tissues increased with advancing of developmental stages and reached their highest level during flower ontogenesis. Similarly, chlorogenic acid, hyperoside and apigenin-7-O-glucoside content in different plant parts increased during plant development, however, the highest level was observed at different stages of plant phenology for each tissue. Chlorogenic acid was not detected in stems, leaves and reproductive parts in several stages of plant phenology and its variation during plant growth showed inconsistent manner. In contrast to the other compounds examined, rutin content of stems and leaves decreased with advanc- ing of plant development and the highest level for both tissues was observed at the vegetative stage. However, content of the same compound in reproductive parts was the highest at mature fruiting. The present findings might be useful to obtain increased concentration of these natural compounds.

Research on Indoor Positioning Technology of WSN based on T-RL Partition Path Model

To address the issues of unstable received signal strength indicator(RSSI)and low indoor positioning accuracy caused by walls and obstacles,the propagation conditions of the wireless communication system are categorized into two distinct environments:line-of-sight(LOS)and non-line-of-sight(NLOS).In the LOS environment,the traditional logarithmic path loss model is *** the NLOS environment,the impact of walls on signal transmission is considered,leading to the development of a multi-wall path loss model based on the T-RL method,with improvements made to the key parameter,the Fresnel coefficient *** breakpoint value d=2.3 m in the partitioned model is determined,and the positional coordinates of the unknown nodes are calculated using the trilateration *** results indicate that the T-RL based multi-wall model improves localization accuracy by 47%in NLOS environments compared to the traditional logarithmic path loss *** average localization error using the T-RL partitioned path loss model is 0.7021 m,representing a 55.9%improvement over the logarithmic path loss model and a 16.8%enhancement over the T-RL attenuation multi-wall model,thereby providing better environmental adaptability.
