Impacts of near-M_(s)austempering treatment on microstructure evolution and bainitic transformation kinetics of a medium Mn steel

The microstructure evolution and bainitic transformation of an Fe-0.19C-4.03Mn-1.48Si steel subjected to near-M_(s)austempering treatment were systematically investigated by combining dilatometer,X-ray diffraction,and electron *** additional austempering treatments with isothermal temperatures above M_(s)were used as *** show that the incubation period for the bainitic transformation occurs when the medium Mn steel is treated with the austempering temperature above M_(s).However,when subjected to near-M_(s)isothermal treatment,the medium Mn steel does not show an incubation period and has the fastest bainitic transformation ***,the largest volume fraction of bainite with a value of 74.7%is obtained on the condition of near-M_(s)austempering treatment after cooling to room *** and microstructure evolution analysis indicates that the elimination of the incubation period and the fastest rate of bainitic transformation are related to the preformed *** advent of preformed martensite allows the specimen to generate more bainite in a limited *** bainitic ferrite nucleation at austenite grain boundaries and through autocatalysis at ferrite/austenite interfaces,a model is established to understand the kinetics of bainite formation and it can describe the nucleation rate of bainitic transformation well when compared to the experimental results.

Different Impacts of Aerosols on Cloud Development over Land and Ocean Regions in East China

The impact of aerosols on clouds,which remains one of the largest aspects of uncertainty in current weather forecasting and climate change research,can be influenced by various factors,such as the underlying surface type,cloud type,cloud phase,and aerosol *** explore the impact of different underlying surfaces on the effect of aerosols on cloud development,this study focused on the Yangtze River Delta(YRD)and its offshore regions(YRD sea)for a comparative analysis based on multi-source satellite data,while also considering the variations in cloud type and cloud *** results show lower cloud-top height and depth of single-layer clouds over the ocean than land,and higher liquid cloud in spring over the *** are found to enhance the cumulus cloud depth through microphysical effects,which is particularly evident over the *** are also found to decrease the cloud droplet effective radius in the ocean region and during the mature stage of cloud development in the land region,while opposite results are found during the early stage of cloud development in the land *** quantitative results indicate that the indirect effect is positive(0.05)in the land region at relatively high cloud water path,which is smaller than that in the ocean region(0.11).The findings deepen our understanding of the influence aerosols on cloud development and the mechanisms involved,which could then be applied to improve the ability to simulate cloud-associated weather processes.

Last digit tendency: Lucky numbers and psychological rounding in mobile transactions

The distribution of digits in numbers obtained from different sources reveals interesting patterns. The well-known Benford's law states that the first digits in many real-life numerical data sets have an asymmetric, logarithmic distribution in which small digits are more common;this asymmetry diminishes for subsequent digits, and the last digit tends to be uniformly distributed. In this paper, we investigate the digit distribution of numbers in a large mobile transaction data set with 835 million mobile transactions and payments made by approximately 460,000 users in more than 300 cities. Although the first digits of the numbers in these mobile transactions follow Benford's law, the last digit has a strong tendency to be a lucky number or be influenced by psychological rounding. This lucky number tendency is more significant in transactions that are more strongly connected to social interactions, such as money sent as gifts or as “red envelopes” (a traditional method of gift-giving during Chinese holidays), and in transactions by individuals with potentially greater emotional needs, such as during COVID-19 outbreaks and natural disasters. This psychological rounding tendency is more common in online e-commerce payments, in-store purchases, and money transfers between individuals. These findings are key for understanding the last digit tendency and its psychological and emotional mechanisms, which could be used as an indicator of public sentiment or in methods of detecting fraudulent business activity. © 2023

W-type barium-nickel ferrite(BaNi_(2)Fe_(16)O_(27))is a highly promising material for electromagnetic wave(EMW)absorption be-cause of its magnetic loss capability for EMW,low cost,large-scale production potential,high-temperature resistance,and excellent chemical ***,the poor dielectric loss of magnetic ferrites hampers their utilization,hindering enhancement in their EMW-absorption *** efficient strategies that improve the EMW-absorption performance of ferrite is highly desired but re-mains ***,an efficient strategy substituting Ba^(2+)with rare earth La^(3+)in W-type ferrite was proposed for the preparation of novel La-substituted ferrites(Ba_(1-x)LaxNi_(2)Fe_(15.4)O_(27)).The influences of La^(3+)substitution on ferrites’EMW-absorption performance and the dissipative mechanism toward EMW were systematically explored and ***^(3+)efficiently induced lattice defects,enhanced defect-induced polarization,and slightly reduced the ferrites’bandgap,enhancing the dielectric properties of the ***^(3+)also enhanced the ferromagnetic resonance loss and strengthened magnetic *** effects considerably improved the EMW-absorption perform-ance of Ba_(1-x)LaxNi_(2)Fe_(15.4)O_(27)compared with pure W-type *** x=0.2,the best EMW-absorption performance was achieved with a minimum reflection loss of-55.6 dB and effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)of 3.44 GHz.

A dynamic control decision approach for fixed-wing aircraft games via hybrid action reinforcement learning

Autonomous decision-making is crucial for aircraft to achieve quick victories in diverse scenarios. Based on a 6-degree-of-freedom aircraft model, this paper proposes a decoupled guidance and control theory for autonomous aircraft maneuvering, distinguishing between close and long-range engagements. We introduce a method for heading attitude control to enhance stability during close-range interactions and a speed-based adaptive grid model for precise waypoint control in mid-to-long-range engagements. The paper transforms dynamic aircraft interactions into a Markov decision process and presents a hybrid discrete and continuous action reinforcement learning approach. This unified learning framework offers enhanced generalization and learning speed for dynamic aircraft adversarial processes. Experimental results indicate that in a symmetric environment, our approach rapidly achieves Nash equilibrium, securing over a 10% advantage. In unmanned aerial aircraft game control with higher maneuverability, the probability of gaining a situational advantage increases by more than 40%. Compared to similar methods, our approach demonstrates superior effectiveness in decision optimization and adversarial success ***, we validate the algorithm's robustness and adaptability in an asymmetric environment, showcasing its promising application potential in collaborative control of aircraft clusters.

MITM: A new Mars Ionosphere-Thermosphere Model

In this study, we present an innovative Mars Ionosphere-Thermosphere Model（MITM）, which is a time-dependent, threedimensional（3-D） model that comprehensively represents the self-consistently coupled thermosphere and ionosphere of Mars within the altitude range of 70-300 km. The model incorporates an extensive range of parameters, including neutral number densities of CO2, CO,O, O2, N2, NO, N（2D）, N（4S）, Ar, and He; ion number densities of CO2+, CO+, O+, O2+, N2+, NO+, N+ions, and electrons; neutral temperature;and neutral wind fields. The MITM code employs a high-resolution grid system in a spherical geographical coordinate system, with a horizontal resolution of 5° latitude by 7.5° longitude. This altitude-resolved grid system enables accurate depiction of spatial variations in the Martian thermosphere and ionosphere. To showcase the capabilities of the MITM, we present two simulation cases: one during the equinox and another during the solstice. Both simulations reproduce key features of the Martian thermosphere and ionosphere including the characteristics of horizontal circulation, diurnal variations in chemical composition, and distribution of electron density. The MITM offers a robust framework for understanding the intricate interactions and processes that shape the Mars thermosphere and ionosphere,which are crucial for enhancing our understanding of Martian upper atmosphere and ionosphere.

The expansive spectral coverage and superior optical properties of lithium niobate(LN)offer a comprehensive suite of tools for exploring novel *** high-quality(Q)photonic resonator cavities is crucial for enhancing light-matter ***,this task is challenging as the device performance is heavily dependent on the fabrication quality of the *** this paper,we present experimental validation of an etchless approach to fabricating high-Q photonic crystal nanobeam cavities(PCNBCs).We successfully fabricate PCNBCs with Q factors exceeding 105 while maintaining high transmittance by capitalizing on the low waveguide loss and high fabrication tolerance of TE-polarized ***,the Q factor achieved here exceeds previous reports on etchless LN PCNBCs by over an order of *** from this advancement,we further explore a variety of optical functions,including thermo-optic tuning,optically induced bistability,and Fano line shapes *** findings present promising prospects for a versatile platform technique,facilitating the development of high-performance electro-optic or acousto-optic modulators,optical logic devices,and quantum photonics,highlighting its significant impact in the field of photonic integration.

A new Synbiotic supplementation ameliorates ulcerative colitis via modulating microbial homeostasis， protecting intestinal barrier integrity， and maintaining immunity homeostasis in mice

Ulcerative colitis [UC] is established by a chronic， diffuse inflammation of colonic mucosa with poorly defined etiology， and without sufficient treatment or cure available for remission. In this context， there is a growing recognition and consensus that synbiotic supplement may be promising and impactful strategies towards ameliorating UC and related inflammatory disorders， garnering significant attention from researchers as an alternative therapy. Herein， we innovatively prepared a novel synbiotic combination including Lactobacillus acidophilus， Bifidobacterium infants and prebiotics konjac glucomannan oligosaccharides [KGMO] to explore the potential therapeutic effects in dextran sodium sulfate [DSS] induced UC mouse model. The results demonstrated that the synbiotic effectively improved colitis symptoms in mice by mitigating weight loss， disease activity index [DAI]， colonic pathological damage， and colonic oxidative stress. it also observed that the synbiotic preserve intestinal barrier function integrity， reduces metabolic endotoxemia as well as inhibits the TLR4/NF-κB， NLRP3/Caspase-1， and Nrf2/Keap1 signaling pathway. Furthermore， the synbiotic modulated microbial homeostasis directly by enhancing beneficial microbes and reducing potentially harmful bacteria. In addition， microbiome phenotype prediction and bacterial functional potential prediction analysis demonstrated that the synbiotic supplementation regulated gut microbiota function involving inflammatory injury， metabolism， immune response， and pathopoiesia. Especially， the synbiotic not only restored the balance of Th1/Th2 cells as well as Th17/Treg cells along with specific inflammatory factors expression， but also maintained bile acid homeostasis by regulating FXR/FGF15 signaling pathway. Especially important is that the synbiotic was as effective as mesalazine against UC.
