Indole is a promising heteroarene in many natural products and pharmaceuticals; therefore, various synthetic methods for indole functionalizations have arisen in recent years. Herein, we report a Pd-catalyzed deoxygenative coupling for the N-vinylation of indoles by employing vinyl ethers. The vinylated indoles could be readily prepared in good to excellent yields with N1.regioselectivity regardless of the electronic characteristics and substitution patterns of indole substrates. Some indole-based pharmaceutical molecules, such as gramine, evodiamine, rutaecarpine, and melatonine, are also successfully vinylated. Moreover, carbazoles and indazoles are shown to participate. Additionally, vinylated indole can readily transform into structurally interesting indole derivatives.

The conventional Gaussian-modulated coherent-state quantum key distribution(QKD) protocol requires the sender to perform active modulations based on a true random number generator. Compared with it, the passive-state-preparation(PSP) continuous-variable quantum key distribution(CVQKD) equivalently performs modulations passively by exploring the intrinsic field fluctuations of a thermal source, which offers the prospect of chip integration QKD with low cost. In this paper, we propose and experimentally demonstrate a high-rate PSP-CVQKD scheme within an access-network area using high-bandwidth detectors in a continuous wave encoding and decoding way. By proposing effective methods for suppressing the noises during the PSP process and polarization multiplexing to decrease the photon leakage noises, we realize the high-intensity local oscillator transmission, thereby achieving coherent detection with high efficiency, low noise, and high bandwidth. The secure key rates over transmission distance of 5.005 km with and without consideration of the finite-size effect are 273.25 Mbps and 1.09 Gbps. The use of the PSP method boosts the asymptotic secret key rate of CVQKD to Gbps level for the first time, to our knowledge, within the range of the access network, which provides an effective and secure key distribution strategy for high-speed quantum cryptography access communication.

Tibeto-Burman(TB)people have endeavored to adapt to the hypoxic,cold,and high-UV high-altitude environments in the Tibetan Plateau and complex disease exposures in lowland rainforests since the late Paleolithic ***,the full landscape of genetic history and biological adaptation of geographically diverse TB-speaking people,as well as their interaction mechanism,remain ***,we generate a whole-genome meta-database of 500 individuals from 39 TB-speaking populations and present a comprehensive landscape of genetic diversity,admixture history,and differentiated adaptative features of geographically different TB-speaking *** identify genetic differentiation related to geography and language among TB-speaking people,consistent with their differentiated admixture process with incoming or indigenous ancestral source populations.A robust genetic connection between the Tibetan-Yi corridor and the ancient Yellow River people supports their Northern china origin *** finally report substructure-related differentiated biological adaptative signatures between highland Tibetans and Loloish *** signatures associated with the physical pigmentation(EDAR and SLC24A5)and metabolism(ALDH9A1.are identified in Loloish people,which differed from the high-altitude adaptative genetic architecture in ***-related genomic resources provide new insights into the genetic basis of biological adaptation and better reference for the anthropologically informed sampling design in biomedical and genomic cohort research.

Entropy engineering has emerged as an effective strategy for improving the figure-of-merit zT by decelerating the phonon transport while maintaining good electrical transport properties of thermoelectric ***,a high average zT of 1.54 and a maximum zT of 2.1.are achieved in the mid-entropy GeTe constructed by Ag,Sb,and Pb *** room temperature,the mid-entropy GeTe tends to be a cubic *** the power factor is improved from 7.7μW·cm^(-1.·K^(-2) to 1..2μW·cm·cm^(-1.·K^(-2) due to the large increase in effective mass and the optimized carrier *** increasing disorder created by heavy and off-centering Ag,Sb,and Pb atoms induces strong mass/strain fluctuations and phonon scattering to decelerate the phonon transport in GeTe.A low lattice thermal conductivity is obtained in the medium-entropy GeTe-based ***,a GeTe-based thermoelectric cooler is fabricated with the cooling temperature difference of 66.6 K with the hot end fixed at 363 *** work reveals the effectiveness of entropy engineering in improving the average zT in GeTe and shows potential application of GeTe as a thermoelectric cooler.

Hydrogel-based tissue-engineered skin has attracted increased attention due to its potential to restore the structural integrity and functionality of ***,the mechanical properties of hydrogel scaffolds and natural skin are substantially ***,we developed a polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)/acrylamide based interpenetrating network(IPN)hydrogel that was surface modified with polydopamine(PDA)and termed *** Dopa-gel exhibited mechanical properties similar to native skin tissue and a superior ability to modulate paracrine ***,a tough scaffold with tensile resistance was fabricated using this hydrogel by three-dimensional *** results showed that the interpenetration of PVA,alginate,and polyacrylamide networks notably enhanced the mechanical properties of the *** modification with PDA endowed the hydrogels with increased secretion of immunomodulatory and proangiogenic *** an in vivo model,Dopa-gel treatment accelerated wound closure,increased vascularization,and promoted a shift in macrophages from a proinflammatory M1.phenotype to a prohealing and anti-inflammatory M2 phenotype within the wound ***,the focal adhesion kinase(FAK)/extracellular signal-related kinase(ERK)signaling pathway may mediate the promotion of skin defect healing by increasing paracrine secretion via the ***,proangiogenic factors can be induced through Rho-associated kinase-2(ROCK-2)/vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)-mediated paracrine secretion under tensile stress *** together,these findings suggest that the multifunctional Dopa-gel,which has good mechanical properties similar to those of native skin tissue and enhanced immunomodulatory and angiogenic properties,is a promising scaffold for skin tissue regeneration.

Rechargeable magnesium-metal batteries(RMMBs)are promising next-generation secondary batteries;however,their development is inhibited by the low capacity and short cycle lifespan of *** various strategies have been devised to enhance the Mg^(2+)migration kinetics and structural stability of cathodes,they fail to improve electronic conductivity,rendering the cathodes incompatible with magnesium-metal ***,we propose a dual-defect engineering strategy,namely,the incorporation of Mg^(2+)pre-intercalation defect(P-Mgd)and oxygen defect(Od),to simultaneously improve the Mg^(2+)migration kinetics,structural stability,and electronic conductivity of the cathodes of *** lamellar V_(2)O_(5)·nH_(2)O as a demo cathode material,we prepare a cathode comprising Mg_(0.07)V_(2)O_(5)·1.4H_(2)O nanobelts composited with reduced graphene oxide(MVOH/rGO)with P-Mgd and *** Od enlarges interlayer spacing,accelerates Mg^(2+)migration kinetics,and prevents structural collapse,while the P-Mgd stabilizes the lamellar structure and increases electronic ***,the MVOH/rGO cathode exhibits a high capacity of 1.7 mAh g^(−1.,and the developed Mg foil//MVOH/rGO full cell demonstrates an incredible lifespan of 850 cycles at 0.1.A g^(−1.,capable of powering a light-emitting *** proposed dual-defect engineering strategy provides new insights into developing high-durability,high-capacity cathodes,advancing the practical application of RMMBs,and other new secondary batteries.
