Climate change has more adverse impacts on the higher mountain communities than the lower ones: people’s perception from the northern Himalayas

The Himalayas are assumed to experience rapid climate change,with serious environmental,social and economic consequences for people living in and around the mountain ***,the extent of climate change and its impact on the region are underexplored,especially on northern slope of the *** on local knowledge,we report perceived changes in climate and consequences of such changes for natural andsocial *** respondents in this study were distributed at a continuous elevation gradient of 3570-4646 m above sea level in the northern ***,it is possible to analyze the process of the shift of bioclimate zones under climate change and the differences in climate change effects cross *** those in the pastoral area(Zhegu town)with an altitude of 4600 m,91.2%(n=114)of the respondents believe that the climate is obviously changing;the ratio of reporting rainfall decreasing is 77.2%(n=114);those who perceive delayed rainy season,and increased climate change-related natural disasters account for 38.9%(n=113),72.8%(n=103),respectively;more than two thirds(70.3%)(n=111)view drought as the biggest challenge to address climate change,and more than half(59.3%)(n=113)of the respondents believe that the impact of climate change is mainly *** these data rank first among the four survey areas(Zhegu town/pastoral region,Nedong County/crop growing regions,Zhanang County/crop growing region and Nagarze County/farming-pastoral region).Due to climate warming,Labidura riparia spreads to a higher altitude in the basins in Nedong County(Shannan City,Tibet)and Zhanang County(Shannan City,Tibet)at the rate of 31.1±6.4 m/a and 46.7±8.8 m/a,respectively in *** of the respondents view the natural variability as the main cause of climate changes,only 10.7%-29.0%among them view human activities as the main *** challenges for local people to address climate change include droughts and economic *** local perceptions conf

Effects of dispersion, absorption and interface fluctuation on the reflection spectra of porous silicon microcavity devices

One problem associated with microcavity devices is the significant difference between the reflection spectra of fabricated porous silicon microcavity(PSM) devices and those obtained by theoretical calculation of ideal microcavity *** address this problem, studies were carried out to determine the effects of the refractive index dispersion, the absorption of the porous silicon layer and the fluctuation of the dielectric interface on the reflection spectra of PSM *** results are in good agreement with those obtained experimentally from the fabricated PSM devices, which provides a theoretical basis for the design of PSM sensors.

AIM:To investigate whether interleukin-17A(IL-17A)gets involved in the mechanisms of inflammation-related retinal pigment epithelium(RPE)cells injury and its significance in age-related macular degeneration(AMD).MRTHODS:A sodium iodate(NaIO3)mouse model as well as IL-17A-/-mice were *** effects of inflammatory cytokines in RPE cells and retinal microglia before and after NaIO3 modeling in vivo and in vitro,were investigated using immunofluorescence,immunoprotein blotting,and quantitative real-time fluorescence polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR),*** using recombinant IL-17A protein(rIL-17A)or IL-17A neutralizing antibody(IL-17A NAb)were used to observe the subsequent differences in fundus,fundus photography and optical coherence tomography(OCT),cell viability,and expression of oxidative stress-related markers before and after modeling,and to screen for key signaling ***:In the scenario of NaIO3 stimulation,RPE cells obviously tended to *** proliferation and activation of retinal microglia was confirmed in NaIO3-stimulated mice,whereas such effects induced by NaIO3 were significantly ameliorated with IL-17A NAb intervention or in IL-17A-/-*** addition,IL-17A promoted the proliferation and activation of microglia as well as oxidative damage and the secretion of inflammatory cytokines alongside NaIO3-induced damage in RPE cells in vivo and ex ***,the extracellular signalregulated kinase(ERK)signaling pathway was shown to be participated in the regulation of NaIO3-induced RPE cells injury mediated by IL-17A in vivo and ex vivo,as IL-17A induced inflammatory cytokines release in the NaIO3 model was alleviated after blocking the ERK ***:IL-17A probably promotes the NaIO3-induced RPE cells injury through exacerbating inflammation in terms of retinal microglia activation and inflammatory cytokines release via ERK signaling *** of IL-17A may be a new potential ta

传统的散热器流动阻力性能分析是依靠大量的试验来完成,而通过计算流体力学(CFD)模拟计算可以在获得直观结果的同时大幅度地减少试验工作量。建立了管带式水散热器冷却空气侧波纹翅片通道的稳态湍流数学模型,对车用管带式水散热器冷却空气侧阻力性能进行数值分析,计算结果与试验数据基本吻合。通过分析得到阻力系数与平均流速拟合函数,经过修正可以用于不同环境温度下阻力性能分析预测。

A Novel Approach to Bioleach Soluble Phosphorus from Rock Phosphate

A novel approach to bioleach soluble phosphorus from rock phosphate,involving the bio-oxidation of pyrite by adaptated Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans(At.f)and the product of sulfuric acid to dissolve rock phosphate,has been proposed in this *** soluble phosphorus could be leached more effectively in the presence of pyrite by At.f than that leached directly by sulfuric *** optimal technological parameters are *** highest phosphorus leaching rate is 9.00% when the culture substrate is the mixture of FeSO_47H_2O and pyrite,the phosphorus leaching rate is 8.00% when the initial pH and culture time are 2.5 and 5 d,*** optimal rock phosphate particle size is 0.05 mm for the leaching of *** bigger the grains of pyrite,the lower the phosphorus leaching *** bacterium At.f should be appropriately adaptated,which makes it easier to bioleach soluble phosphorus from rock phosphate.

As modern communication and detection technologies advance at a swift pace,multifunctional electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding materials with active/positive infrared stealth,hydrophobicity,and electric-thermal conversion ability have received extensive *** the aforesaid requirements simultaneously remains a huge *** this research,the melamine foam(MF)/polypyrrole(PPy)nanowire arrays(MF@PPy)were fabricated via one-step electrochemical *** hierarchical MF@PPy foam was composed of three-dimensional PPy micro-skeleton and ordered PPy nanowire *** to the upwardly grown PPy nanowire arrays,the MF@PPy foam possessed good hydrophobicity ability with a water contact angle of 142.00°and outstanding stability under various harsh ***,the MF@PPy foam showed excellent thermal insulation property on account of the low thermal conductivity and elongated ligament characteristic of PPy nanowire ***,taking advantage of the high conductivity(128.2 S m^(-1)),the MF@PPy foam exhibited rapid Joule heating under 3 V,resulting in dynamic infrared stealth and thermal camouflage *** importantly,the MF@PPy foam exhibited remarkable EMI shielding effectiveness values of 55.77 dB and 19,928.57 dB cm^(2)g^(-1).Strong EMI shielding was put down to the hierarchically porous PPy structure,which offered outstanding impedance matching,conduction loss,and multiple *** innovative approach provides significant insights to the development of advanced multifunctional EMI shielding foams by constructing PPy nanowire arrays,showing great applications in both military and civilian fields.

Severe combined immunodeficiency disease(SCID),characterized by profound immune system dysfunction,can lead to life-threatening infections and death. Animal models play a pivotal role in elucidating biological processes and advancing therapeutic strategies. Recent advances in gene-editing technologies, including zincfinger nucleases(ZFNs), transcription activator-like effector nucleases(TALENs), CRISPR/Cas9, and base editing, have significantly enhanced the generation of SCID models.
