Soil Nitrous Oxide Emissions Under Maize-Legume Intercropping System in the North China Plain

Many studies have focused on various agricultural management measures to reduce agricultural nitrous oxide （N2O） emission. However, few studies have investigated soil N2O emissions in intercropping systems in the North China Plain. Thus, we conducted a ifeld experiment to compare N2O emissions under monoculture and maize-legume intercropping systems. In 2010, ifve treatments, including monocultured maize （M）, maize-peanut （MP）, maize-alfalfa （MA）, maize-soybean （MS）, and maize-sweet clover （MSC） intercropping were designed to investigate this issue using the static chamber technique. In 2011, M, MP, and MS remained, and monocultured peanuts （P） and soybean （S） were added to the trial. The results showed that total production of N2O from different treatments ranged from （0.87＆#177;0.12） to （1.17＆#177;0.11） kg ha-1 in 2010, while those ranged from （3.35＆#177;0.30） to （9.10＆#177;2.09） kg ha-1 in 2011. MA and MSC had no signiifcant effect on soil N2O production compared to that of M （P＆lt;0.05）. Cumulative N2O emissions from MP in 2010 were signiifcantly lower than those from M, but the result was the opposite in 2011 （P＆lt;0.05）. MS signiifcantly reduced soil N2O emissions by 25.55 and 48.84%in 2010 and 2011, respectively （P＆lt;0.05）. Soil N2O emissions were signiifcantly correlated with soil water content, soil temperature, nitriifcation potential, soil NH4＋, and soil NO3-content （R2=0.160-0.764, P＆lt;0.01）. A stepwise linear regression analysis indicated that soil N2O release was mainly controlled by the interaction between soil moisture and soil NO3-content （R2=0.828, P＆lt;0.001）. These results indicate that MS had a coincident effect on soil N2O lfux and signiifcantly reduced soil N2O production compared to that of M over two growing seasons.

Nitrate Leaching from Maize Intercropping Systems with N Fertilizer Over-Dose

A 2-yr field experiment was conducted on a calcareous alluvial soil with four summer maize intercropping systems at Shangzhuang Experiment Station （116.3°E, 39.9°N） in the North China Plain. The objective was to determine nitrate leaching from intercropping systems involving maize （Zea mays L.）： sole maize （CK）, maize ＋ soybean （CST）, maize ＋ groundnut （CGT）, maize ＋ ryegrass （CHM）, and maize ＋ alfalfa （CMX）. Intercropping greatly reduced nitrate accumulation in the 100-200 cm soil layers compared with maize monoculture. Nitrate accumulation under intercropping systems decreased significantly at the 140-200 cm soil depth; the accumulation varied in the order CK〉CST〉CMX〉CHM〉CGT. However, compared to the CK treatment, nitrate leaching losses during the maize growing period were reduced by 20.9- 174.8 （CGT）, 35.2-130.8 （CHM）, 60.4-122.0 （CMX）, and 30.6-82.4 kg ha-1 （CST）. The results also suggested that intereropping is an effective way to reduce nitrogen leaching in fields with N fertilizer over-dose.

A wide-linear-range and low-hysteresis resistive strain sensor made of double-threaded conductive yarn for human movement detection

Yarn-based flexible strain sensors with advantages in wearability and integrability have attracted wide ***,it is still a big challenge to achieve yarn-based strain sensors with a wide linear strain range,low hysteresis,and durability synchronously that can be used for full range detection of human body ***,a new structure,double-threaded conductive yarn with rhythmic strain distribu-tion,is reported to markedly widen the linear strain range of microcrack-based stretchable strain sensors.A new method of winding and thermally adhering hot-melt filaments on the surface of the elastic fiber is used to achieve double-threaded yarn(DTY)with rhythmic strain *** proposed strategy,the integration of heterogeneous materials,is reported to significantly reduce the mechanical hysteresis of composite *** strain distribution of the DTY during stretching causes multi-level micro-cracks in different regions of the carbon nanotube(CNT)conductive layer deposited on the surface of the ***,the sensing performance of DTY-based strain sensor can be adjusted by designing the structural *** final prepared flexible strain sensor has the advantages of a wide linear strain range(100%),great sensitivity(GF=12.43),low hysteresis,rapid response(158 ms),high repeatability(>2000 cycles at 50%strain),and hydrophobicity,*** sensor can monitor human motion repeatedly and stably well,and shows great advantages in flexible wearable devices.

Metal tellurides(MTes) are highly attractive as promising anodes for high-performance potassium-ion batteries. The capacity attenuation of most reported MTe anodes is attributed to their poor electrical conductivity and large volume variation. The evolution mechanisms, dissolution properties, and corresponding manipulation strategies of intermediates(K-polytellurides, K-pTe_(x)) are rarely mentioned. Herein,we propose a novel structural engineering strategy to confine ultrafine CoTe_(2) nanodots in hierarchical nanogrid-in-nanofiber carbon substrates(CoTe_(2)@NC@NSPCNFs) for smooth immobilization of K-pTe_(x) and highly reversible conversion of CoTe_(2) by manipulating the intense electrochemical reaction process. Various in situ/ex situ techniques and density functional theory calculations have been performed to clarify the formation, transformation, and dissolution of K-pTe_(x)(K_(5)Te_(3) and K_(2)Te), as well as verifying the robust physical barrier and the strong chemisorption of K_(5)Te_(3) and K_(2)Te on S, N co-doped dual-type carbon substrates. Additionally, the hierarchical nanogrid-in-nanofiber nanostructure increases the chemical anchoring sites for K-pTe_(x), provides sufficient volume buffer space, and constructs highly interconnected conductive microcircuits, further propelling the battery reaction to new heights(3500 cycles at 2.0 A g^(-1)). Furthermore, the full cells further demonstrate the potential for practical applications. This work provides new insights into manipulating K-pTe_(x) in the design of ultralong-cycling MTe anodes for advanced PIBs.

Aggregate stability and associated C and N in a silty loam soil as affected by organic material inputs

To make recycling utilization of organic materials produced in various agricultural systems, five kinds of organic materials were applied in a field test, including crop straw （CS）, biogas residue （BR）, mushroom residue （MR）, wine residue （WR）, pig manure （PM）, with a mineral fertilizer （CF） and a no-fertilizer （CK） treatment as a control. Our objectives were： i） to quantify the effects of organic materials on soil C and N accumulation; ii） to evaluate the effects of organic materials on soil aggregate stability, along with the total organic carbon （TOC）, and N in different aggregate fractions; and iii） to assess the relationships among the organic material components, soil C and N, and C, N in aggregate fractions. The trial was conducted in Wuqiao County, Hebei Province, China. The organic materials were incorporated at an equal rate of C, and combined with a mineral fertilizer in amounts of 150 kg N ha^-1, 26 kg P ha^-1 and 124 kg K ha-1 respectively during each crop season of a wheat-maize rotation system. The inputted C quantity of each organic material treatment was equivalent to the total amount of C contained in the crop straw harvested in CS treatement in the previous season. TOC, N, water-stable aggregates, and aggregate-associated TOC and N were investigated. The results showed that organic material incorporation increased soil aggregation and stabilization. On average, the soil macroaggregate proportion increased by 14%, the microaggregate proportion increased by 3%, and mean-weight diameter （MWD） increased by 20%. TOC content followed the order of PM〉WR〉MR〉BR〉CS〉CK〉CF; N content followed the order WR〉PM〉MR〉BR〉CS〉CF〉CK. No significant correlation was found between TOC, N, and the quality of organic material. Soil silt and clay particles contained the largest part of TOC, whereas the small macroaggregate fraction was the most sensitive to organic materials. Two-dimensional （2D） transition metal dichalcogenide （TMDC） semiconductor materials exhibit extraordinary electrical properties,holding promise for the realization of next-generation complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor （CMOS） devices at ultimate ***,constrained by effective device doping strategies,the hole mobility and device performance of tungsten diselenide （WSe2） p-type transistors,especially monolayer chemical vapor deposition （CVD）-grown WSe2,have not met *** this paper,an effective performance enhancement of monolayer WSe2p-type transistor was achieved through a molecular doping *** monolayer WSe2directly on SiO2back-gated substrates and leveraging energy band alignment design,4-nitrobenzenediazonium tetrafluoroborate （4-NBD） molecular dopant with a concentration of 10 m M was utilized to modulate the Fermi level position of monolayer WSe2for hole *** devices demonstrated a more than 98%increase in hole mobility,reaching up to 97 cm2·V-1·s-1while maintaining the current on/off ratio of *** p-type WSe2transistors with 1μm channel length exhibit a high drive current surpassing 176μA·μm-1,exceeding previous CVD-WSe2devices with similar channel *** straightforward and effective approach to improving the electrical performance of WSe2transistors paves the way for advanced logic technologies based on transition metal dichalcogenide semiconductors.

Camptothecin is a complex monoterpenoid indole alkaloid with remarkable antitumor *** that two C-10 modified camptothecin derivatives,topotecan and irinotecan,have been approved as potent anticancer agents,there is a critical need for methods to access other aromatic ringfunctionalized congeners(e.g.,C-9,C-10,etc.).However,contemporary methods for chemical oxidation are generally harsh and low-yielding when applied to the camptothecin scaffold,thereby limiting the development of modified *** herein,we have identified four tailoring enzymes responsible for C-9 modifications of camptothecin from Nothapodytes tomentosa,via metabolomic and transcriptomic *** consist of a cytochrome P450(Nt CPT9H)which catalyzes the regioselective oxidation of camptothecin to 9-hydroxycamptothecin,as well as two methyltransferases(Nt OMT1/2,converting 9-hydroxycamptothecin to 9-methoxycamptothecin),and a uridine diphosphate-glycosyltransferase(Nt UGT5,decorating 9-hydroxycamptothecin to9-β-D-glucosyloxycamptothecin).Importantly,the critical residues that contribute to the specific catalytic activity of Nt CPT9H have been elucidated through molecular docking and mutagenesis *** work provides a genetic basis for producing camptothecin derivatives through metabolic *** will hasten the discovery of novel C-9 modified camptothecin derivatives,with profound implications for pharmaceutical manufacture.

Boosting the electrochromic properties by large V_(2)O_(5)nanobelts interlayer spacing tuned via PEDOT

Vanadium pentoxide(V_(2)O_(5))with a layered structure is of great interest in the field of electrochromic(EC)due to its abundance of color ***,there are still a series of problems such as slow ion diffusion,poor electronic conductivity and cyclic stability in the reaction ***,we successfully prepared a stable and fast multi-color electrochromic material V_(2)O_(5)-PEDOT by a simple“one-pot”*** layer space of V_(2)O_(5)could be tuned by 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene(named V_(2)O_(5)-PEDOT)during the dissolution and recrystallization of vanadium *** expanded layer spacing facilitates rapid ion insertion and *** serves as an internal conductive pillar to improve the overall conductivity of the *** obtained intercrossing structure of the nanobelts shortens the ion diffusion distance and ensures electrolyte *** V_(2)O_(5)-PEDOT exhibits the fast response time(1.1 s for coloration and 3.5 s for bleaching at 422 nm),high optical contrast(ΔT=45%at 422 nm andΔT=35.2%at 1000 nm),great coloration efficiency(CE=97.1 cm2/C),and high cyclic stability(86%preserved after 3000 cycles).The electrochromic devices(ECD)were successfully assembled by using V_(2)O_(5)-PEDOT films as ion storage layers and electrochromic layers,demonstrating remarkable performance.

Enhanced Grain Refining Effect of Mg–Zr Master Alloy on Magnesium Alloys via a Synergistic Strategy Involving Heterogeneous Nucleation and Solute‑Driven Growth Restriction
