BACKGROUND Type Ⅱ diabetes mellitus(T2DM)has been associated with increased risk of colon cancer(CC)and worse prognosis in patients with *** effects of T2DM on postoperative chemoresistance rate(CRR)and long-term disease-free survival(DFS)and overall survival(OS)in patients with stage Ⅲ CC who receive curative resection remain *** To investigate whether T2DM or glycemic control is associated with worse postoperative survival outcomes in stage Ⅲ *** This retrospective cohort study included 278 patients aged 40-75 years who underwent surgery for stage Ⅲ CC from 2018 to *** on preoperative T2DM history,the patients were categorized into non-DM(n=160)and DM groups(n=118).The latter was further divided into well-controlled(n=73)and poorly controlled(n=45)groups depending on the status of glycemic ***,OS,and CRR were compared between the groups and Cox regression analysis was used to identify risk *** Patients in the DM and non-DM groups demonstrated similar DFS,OS,and CRR(DFS:72.03%vs 78.75%,P=0.178;OS:81.36%vs 83.12%,P=0.638;CRR:14.41%vs 7.5%,P=0.063).Poorly controlled DM was associated with a significantly worse prognosis and higher CRR than well-controlled DM(DFS:62.22%vs 78.07%,P=0.021;OS:71.11%vs 87.67%,P=0.011;CRR:24.40%vs 8.22%,P=0.015).High preoperative fasting plasma glucose[DFS:Hazard ratio(HR)=2.684,P<0.001;OS:HR=2.105,P=0.019;CRR:HR=2.214,P=0.005]and glycosylated hemoglobin levels(DFS:HR=2.344,P=0.006;OS:HR=2.119,P=0.021;CRR:HR=2.449,P=0.009)indicated significantly poor prognosis and high CRR,while T2DM history did not(DFS:HR=1.178,P=0.327;OS:HR=0.933,P=0.739;CRR:HR=0.997,P=0.581).CONCLUSION Increased preoperative fasting plasma glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin levels,but not T2DM history,were identified as risk factors associated with poor postoperative outcomes and high CRR in patients with stage Ⅲ CC.

Thermodynamic modeling is still themostwidely usedmethod to characterize aerosol acidity,a critical physicochemical property of atmospheric ***,it remains unclear whether gas-aerosol partitioning should be incorporated when thermodynamicmodels are employed to estimate the acidity of coarse *** this work,field measurements were conducted at a coastal city in northern China across three seasons,and covered wide ranges of temperature,relative humidity and NH_(3) *** examined the performance of different modes of ISORROPIA-II(a widely used aerosol thermodynamic model)in estimating aerosol acidity of coarse and fine *** M0 mode,which incorporates gas-phase data and runs the model in the forward mode,provided reasonable estimation of aerosol acidity for coarse and fine *** to M0,the M1 mode,which runs the model in the forward mode but does not include gas-phase data,may capture the general trend of aerosol acidity but underestimates pH for both coarse and fine particles;M2,which runs the model in the reverse mode,results in large errors in estimated aerosol pH for both coarse and fine particles and should not be used for aerosol acidity ***,M1 significantly underestimates liquid water contents for both fine and coarse particles,while M2 provides reliable estimation of liquid water *** summary,our work highlights the importance of incorporating gas-aerosol partitioning when estimating coarse particle acidity,and thus may help improve our understanding of acidity of coarse particles.

Small auxin-up RNA gene OsSAUR33 promotes seed aging tolerance in rice

Seed aging tolerance during storage is generally an important trait for crop production, yet the role of small auxin-up RNA genes in conferring seed aging tolerance is largely unknown in rice. In this study, one small auxin-up RNA gene, OsSAUR33, was found to be involved in the regulation of seed aging tolerance in rice. The expression of OsSAUR33 was significantly induced in aged seeds compared with unaged seeds during the seed germination phase. Accordingly, the disruption of OsSAUR33 significantly reduced seed vigor compared to the wild type(WT) in response to natural storage or artificial aging treatments. The rice OsSAUR33 gene promotes the vigor of aged seeds by enhancing their reactive oxygen species(ROS) level during seed germination, and the accumulation of ROS was significantly delayed in the aged seeds of Ossaur33 mutants in comparison with WT during seed germination. Hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2)) treatments promoted the vigor of aged seeds in various rice varieties. Our results provide timely theoretical and technical insights for the trait improvement of seed aging tolerance in rice.

列车轮对踏面缺陷识别是保障列车轮轨系统安全服役的关键步骤。然而,轮对踏面缺陷类型多样复杂、类别不平衡,现有卷积神经网络算法难以对其进行准确识别。为此,提出基于改进脉冲神经网络(SNN)的列车轮对不平衡踏面缺陷识别方法。采用混合卷积编码模块,通过提高特征多样性稀疏表达,减少编码细节信息丢失;提出脉冲金字塔拆分注意网络,考虑多尺度空间信息跨通道交互能力,以提取缺陷的多尺度特征;提出一种新的交叉注意力模块,提取不同层级特征的空间全局信息,通过交叉校准以增强输入特征,抑制噪声等无用特征;通过不平衡比例达10∶1的踏面缺陷数据集对该识别方法进行试验验证。验证结果表明,该方法能够有效提高模型的识别精度,并且对少数类别缺陷也有较高的识别率。

Exploring the performance of large language models on hepatitis B infection-related questions:A comparative study

BACKGROUND Patients with hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection require chronic and personalized care to improve *** language models(LLMs)can potentially provide medical information for *** To examine the performance of three LLMs,ChatGPT-3.5,ChatGPT-4.0,and Google Gemini,in answering HBV-related *** LLMs’responses to HBV-related questions were independently graded by two medical professionals using a four-point accuracy scale,and disagreements were resolved by a third *** question was run three times using three *** was assessed via the Gunning Fog index and Flesch-Kincaid grade *** Overall,all three LLM chatbots achieved high average accuracy scores for subjective questions(ChatGPT-3.5:3.50;ChatGPT-4.0:3.69;Google Gemini:3.53,out of a maximum score of 4).With respect to objective questions,ChatGPT-4.0 achieved an 80.8%accuracy rate,compared with 62.9%for ChatGPT-3.5 and 73.1%for Google *** the six domains,ChatGPT-4.0 performed better in terms of diagnosis,whereas Google Gemini demonstrated excellent clinical ***,in the readability analysis,the mean Gunning Fog index and Flesch-Kincaid grade level scores of the three LLM chatbots were significantly higher than the standard level eight,far exceeding the reading level of the normal *** Our results highlight the potential of LLMs,especially ChatGPT-4.0,for delivering responses to HBV-related *** may be an adjunctive informational tool for patients and physicians to improve ***,current LLMs should not replace personalized treatment recommendations from physicians in the management of HBV infection.

Chemotherapy is regarded as a widely used and effective treatment strategy for lung cancer,although most conventional chemotherapeutics cause severe toxic side-effects due to their indiscriminate attacks on both cancerous and normal *** nucleic acid nanomaterials are emerging as a promising drug delivery strategy,their clinical applications are limited by rapid degradation by nucleases and difficulties in targeting cancer *** this study,we have developed a Rhein-loaded aptamer-based DNA nanotube(DNT-S6@Rhein)for the targeted and efficient therapy of non-small cell lung *** the palindrome segments,two specified oligonucleotides were hybridized and folded into the well-defined nanotubes(DNT-S6),with the S6 aptamer distributed *** obtained nanotubes exhibited excellent serum stability and targeting ability towards A549 cells due to the firm structure and decoration of the S6 ***,as an antitumor drug and DNA intercalator,can be effectively inserted into the *** drug-loaded nanotubes rapidly disassembled in intracellular environment and then the released Rhein was found to activate cellular apoptotic process and significantly suppress proliferation,migration and invasion of A549 ***,DNT-S6@Rhein could efficiently accumulate in tumor regions,offering compelling therapeutic efficacy and biocompatibility under both in vitro and in vivo *** findings of this study provide a promising strategy for mitigating the inevitable systemic side-effects of chemotherapy and expand the potential application of DNA nanostructure on targeted drug delivery.

Moment Redistribution Effect of the Continuous Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer-Concrete Composite Slabs Based on Static Loading Experiment

This study aimed to investigate the moment redistribution in continuous glass fiber reinforced polymer(GFRP)-concrete composite slabs caused by concrete cracking and steel bar yielding in the negative bending moment *** experimental bending moment redistribution test was conducted on continuous GFRP-concrete composite slabs,and a calculation method based on the conjugate beam method was *** composite slabs were formed by combining GFRP profiles with a concrete layer and supported on steel beams to create two-span continuous composite slab *** methods,epoxy resin bonding,and stud connection,were used to connect the composite slabs with the steel *** experimental findings showed that the specimen connected with epoxy resin exhibited two moments redistribution phenomena during the loading process:concrete cracking and steel bar yielding at the internal *** contrast,the composite slab connected with steel beams by studs exhibited only one-moment redistribution phenomenon throughout the loading *** the concrete at the internal support cracked,the bending moment decreased in the internal support section and increased in the midspan *** the steel bars yielded,the bending moment further decreased in the internal support section and increased in the mid-span *** GFRP profiles do not experience cracking,there was no significant decrease in the bending moment of the mid-span *** test specimens experienced compressive failure of concrete at the mid-span *** results showed good agreement between the calculated and experimental values of bending moments in the mid-span section and internal support *** proposed model can effectively predict the moment redistribution behavior of continuous GFRP-concrete composite slabs.

Multi-source and multi-temporal remote sensing image classification for flood disaster monitoring

Flood disasters can have a serious impact on people's production and lives, and can cause huge losses in lives and property security. Based on multi-source remote sensing data, this study established decision tree classification rules through multi-source and multi-temporal feature fusion, classified ground objects before the disaster and extracted flood information in the disaster area based on optical images during the disaster, so as to achieve rapid acquisition of the disaster situation of each disaster bearing *** the case of Qianliang Lake, which suffered from flooding in 2020, the results show that decision tree classification algorithms based on multi-temporal features can effectively integrate multi-temporal and multispectral information to overcome the shortcomings of single-temporal image classification and achieve ground-truth object classification.
