Wetland and habitat dynamics in the evolving landscape of the Middle Yangtze River Basin

Wetlands play a critical role in the global environment. The Middle Yangtze River Basin(MYRB), known for its abundant wetland resources, has experienced notable changes resulting from the complex interplay of environmental factors. Therefore, we investigated the spatiotemporal characteristics of wetland ecological quality in the MYRB from 2001 to *** the random forest(RF) regression algorithm and patch-generated land-use simulation(PLUS) model, we forecasted variations in wetland habitat quality and their determinants under the Shared Socioeconomic Pathway-Representative Concentration Pathway(SSPRCP) framework from 2035 to 2095. The main findings are as follows:(1) The RF algorithm was optimal for land-use and land-cover(LULC) classification in the MYRB from 2001 to 2020,when notable changes were observed in water bodies and buildings. However, the forested area exhibited an increase and decrease of 3.9% and 1.2% under the SSP1-2.6 and SSP5-8.5 scenarios, respectively, whereas farmland exhibited a diminishing trend.(2) Wetlands were primarily concentrated in the central and eastern MYRB, with counties in the southwest exhibiting superior ecological-environmental quality from 2001 to 2020. Notably,wetland coverage revealed significantly high level, significant changes, frequent but relatively minor changes under the SSP1-2.6, SSP2-4.5, and SSP 5-8.5 scenarios, respectively.(3)Regions with lower habitat quality were primarily concentrated in urbanized areas characterized by frequent human activities, indicating a clear degradation in habitat quality across different scenarios. In conclusion, we established a foundational framework for future investigations into the eco-hydrological processes and ecosystem quality of watersheds.

Shrinking and Drying up of Baiyangdian Lake Wetland:A Natural or Human Cause?

The shrinking and drying up of wetlands in arid and semiarid areas of China have been widely observed in the recent years, but there has been no consensus on whether the aggravation is caused by human activities or by global climate warming. For a better understanding of the cause, this study investigates the dynamic changes of Baiyangdian Lake wetland over the last 40 years. It is shown that since the 1980s, Baiyangdian Lake has suffered from an insufficient water input and shrunk considerably. By using SPSS 11.0, this study urines a detailed Analysis on the signifficance of the effects of the possible driving factors for the degradation. It is identified that the North China Plain has been warrnin~ up significantly in recent years, which causes a significant reduction in the precipitation and inflow to the lake. Although human disturbances such as the irrigation and storage of water in reservoirs do not play a decisive role, they accelerate the degradation and their effects should be minimized.

Informer:Irregular traffic detection for containerized microservices RPC in the real world

Synthesis of Acrylate Microemulsion Modified by Alkoxy Silane

An acrylate emulsion was modified by adding vinyltriisopropoxy silane （trade name C-1706）. By adding the multiple emulsifier which consists of an anionic emulsifier, sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate （SDBS） and nonionic emulsifier, octyl phenolic divinyl oxide （OP-10）, the acrylosilane microemulsion was synthesized by seeded emulsion polymerization. The influential factors including the kind and the adding amount of emulsifiers and the monomer variety of alkoxy silane and the added methods which influence on the properties of the microemulsion were investigated. It is found that SDBS and OP-10 as multiple emulsifiers with mass ratio of 1：1 and the adding amount of 2.5%-3.5% can act on co-effect for emulsion polymerization. The C-1706 possesses bulky isopropoxy substituent that can reduce hydrolysis reactivity during the polymerization process, so as to not only make the process smoothly but also advance the store stability of the emulsion. Moreover, the latter-addition mode of C-1706 can restrain its hydrolysis activity and polycondensation reaction during the polymerization process of the emulsion. The structure, the film cross section, the particle size and its distribution of the microemulsion were analyzed by the Fourier Transform Infrared Ray Spectrum （FTIR）, Scanning Electron Microscopy （SEM） and a particle size analyzer, respectively. The results show that the particle diameter of the modified microemulsion can be controlled between 50 and 70 nm and its film hardness is 7.3. Only adding 1.5% of C-1706 into the system of emulsion polymerization can apparently improve the weathering resistance of the microemulsion, which undergo degradation with chromatism（△E） is 1.6 after 3 600 hours of QUV-aging.

Multiple Cropping Intensity in China Derived from Agro-meteorological Observations and MODIS Data

Double-and triple-cropping in a year have played a very important role in meeting the rising need for food in ***,the intensified agricultural practices have significantly altered biogeochemical cycles and soil *** and mapping cropping intensity in China′s agricultural systems are therefore necessary to better estimate carbon,nitrogen and water fluxes within agro-ecosystems on the national *** this study,we investigated the spatial pattern of crop calendar and multiple cropping rotations in China using phenological records from 394 agro-meteorological stations(AMSs)across *** results from the analysis of in situ field observations were used to develop a new algorithm that identifies the spatial distribution of multiple cropping in China from moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer(MODIS)time series data with a 500 m spatial resolution and an 8-day temporal *** to the MODIS-derived multiple cropping distribution in 2002,the proportion of cropland cultivated with multiple crops reached 34%in ***-cropping accounted for approximately 94.6%and triple-cropping for 5.4%.The results demonstrat that MODIS EVI(Enhanced Vegetation Index)time series data have the capability and potential to delineate the dynamics of double-and triple-cropping *** resultant multiple cropping map could be used to evaluate the impacts of agricultural intensification on biogeochemical cycles.

Analytical Models for Velocity Distributions in Compound Channels with Emerged and Submerged Vegetated Floodplains

The lateral distributions of depth-averaged velocity in open compound channels with emerged and submerged vegetated floodplains were analyzed based on the analytical solution of the depth-integrated Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes equation with a term to account for the effects of *** three cases considered for open channels were two-stage rectangular channel with emerged vegetated floodplain,rectangular channel with submerged vegetated corner,and two-stage rectangular channel with submerged vegetated floodplain,*** predict the depth-averaged velocity with submerged vegetated floodplains,we proposed a new method based on a two-layer approach where flow above and through the vegetation layer was described ***,further experiments in the two-stage rectangular channel with submerged vegetated floodplain were carried out to verify the *** analytical solutions of the cases indicated that the corresponding analytical depth-averaged velocity distributions agree well with the simulated and experimental *** analytical solutions of the cases with theoretical foundation and without programming calculation were reasonable and applicable,which were more convenient than numerical *** analytical solutions provided a way for future researches to solve the problems of submerged vegetation and discontinuous phenomenon of depth-averaged velocity at the stage point for compound *** the hydraulics of flow in compound channels with vegetated floodplains is very important for supporting the management of fluvial processes.

Synthesis and Properties of Novel Epoxidized Soybean Oil-modified Phenolic Resin /Montmorillonite Nanocomposites

The novel epoxidized soybean oil-modified-phenolic resin/clay nanocomposites（ESO-M-PR/ CN） was prepared. The coupling agent-benzyldimethylphenylammonium chloride [C6H5CH2N^＋（CH3）2C6H5Cl^- , B2MP] was adopted to modify the interface between the organic and inorganic phases. The effect of the nanocomposite structure on its physical and chemical properties was discussed. During the synthesizing process of ESO-M-PR/CN, the phenol hydroxyl was etherified by ESO or ESO epoxy resin prepolymer to provide long ESO epoxy segments. Long ESO epoxy resin chain segments enhanced the crosslink density of ESO-M- PR/CN. The thermal and mechanical properties exhibit a significant improvement. The temperature at which a weight loss of 5% occurs increases from 287.1 ℃ to 402.3 ℃. The flexural strength increases by 25%, while the flexural modulus increases by 39%. Moreover, the properties of resin were enhanced by the effect of the inorganic nanoparticles, while the size of the nanomontmorillonites in the phenolic resin was characterized with a scanning electron microscope. The particle size of inorganic montmorillonites in the modified system is less than 100 nm.

A New Species of the Asian Leaf Litter Toad Genus Leptobrachella(Amphibia,Anura,Megophryidae)from Chongqing City,Southwest China

Herein we describe a new species,Leptobrachella yunyangensis ***.,from Yunyang County,Chongqing City,China,based on a combination of molecular and morphological *** analysis based on the mitochondrial 16 S rRNA gene and six nuclear genes indicated that this new species represented an independent evolutionary *** uncorrected genetic distance between the new species and its closest congener species,***,was 5.4 % for 16 S *** new species can be distinguished from its congeners by a combination of the following characters:(1) moderate body size(SVL28.3-30.6 mm in males);(2) rough dorsal skin,with sparse large granules and tubercles and short longitudinal ridges on the shoulder;(3) distinctly discernible tympanum with a diameter smaller than that of the eye(TMP/EYE ratio:0.51) and a distinct black supra tympanic line present;(4)an internasal distance almost equal to interorbital distance(IND/IOD ratio:1.05);(5) flanks with several dark spots arranged longitudinally in two rows;(6) distinctly visible supra-axilla ry,femoral,pectoral,a nd ventrola teral glands;(7) bicolored iris,with the upper 1/3 of the iris being copper orange and the lower 2/3 a light silvery grey;(8) relative finger lengths of Ⅰ <Ⅱ=Ⅳ <Ⅲ and relative toe lengths of Ⅰ <Ⅱ <Ⅴ <Ⅲ <Ⅳ;(9) absence of webbing and lateral fringes on fingers,and toes with rudimentary webbing and narrow lateral fringes;(10) heels overlapping when the thighs are positioned at right angles to the body;(11) tibiotarsal articulation reaching to the anterior corner of the eye when the leg is stretched forward;(12) ventral surfaces of the throat,chest,and belly greyish white with purple-brown speckling;(13) lacking distinct blackish dorsolateral markings;and(14) transverse dark brown bars on the surfaces of limbs and digits.

Analysis on the relationship between winter precipitation and the annual variation of horse stomach fly community in arid desert steppe, Northwest China (2007–2019)

Gasterophilus *** been found to be widespread in reintroduced Przewalski’s horses in the Kalamaili Nature Reserve(Northwest China).However,data on the annual variation in Gasterophilus infections are *** analyze the epidemiological features and determine the cause of the annual variation in Gasterophilus infections,we treated 110 Przewalski’s horses with ivermectin and collected Gasterophilus larvae from fecal samples each winter from 2007 to *** 110 Przewalski’s horses studied were found to be infected by Gasterophilus spp.,and a total of 141379 larvae were *** species of Gasterophilus were identified with the following prevalence:***(100%),***(96.36%),***(94.55%),***(56.36%),***(59.09%),and ***(3.64%).The mean infection intensity of Gasterophilus *** in Przewalski’s horses was 1285±***(92.96%±6.71%)was the most abundant *** intensity of Gasterophilus spp.(r=–0.561,P<0.046)was significantly correlated with winter *** findings confirmed that,in the Kalamaili Nature Reserve,gasterophilosis is a severe parasitic disease in Przewalski’s *** precipitation at the beginning of the year can indirectly affect the intensity and composition of Gasterophilus *** Przewalski’s horses at the end of the ***,the water-related ecological regulation should be carried out to help reduce the parasite infection of Przewalski’s horses.
