Cosmological interpretation for the stochastic signal in pulsar timing arrays

The pulsar timing array(PTA)collaborations have recently reported compelling evidence for a stochastic signal consistent with a gravitational-wave *** this paper,we combine the latest data sets from NANOGrav,PPTA,and EPTA to explore cosmological interpretations for the PTA signal from first-order phase transitions,domain walls,and cosmic strings,*** find that the domain wall model is strongly disfavored with the Bayes factors compared with the first-order phase transitions and cosmic strings being 1/90 and 1/189,respectively,breaking the degeneracy among these models in individual data *** also find that:(1)a strong phase transition at temperatures below the electroweak scale is favored,and the bubble collisions make the dominant contribution to the energy density spectrum;(2.a small reconnection probability p1.55×10^(-1)allowed by strings in(super)string theory is favored at the 95%confidence level,and ground-based detectors can further constrain the parameter space.

Over 70 million people worldwide suffer from epilepsy-one of the most prevalent chronic neurological disorders[1].Despite the availability of over thirty anti-seizure drugs(ASDs)that mainly act on voltage-gated ion channels or inhibitory GABAergic receptors,the effectiveness of these drugs in achieving seizure freedom remains unsatisfactory due to pharmacoresistance and the inevitable occurrence of side-effects.

The unstable zinc anode/electrolyte interface induced by corrosion,interfacial water splitting reaction,and dendrite growth seriously degrades the performances of metal Zn anode in aqueous ***,the nucleation and growth of zinc hydroxide sulfate(ZHS),an interfacial by-product,has been tailored by Tween 80 in the electrolyte,which thereby assists in in-situ forming a dense solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)with small-sized ZHS and evenly distributed Tween *** SEI has high corrosion resistance and uniform distribution of zinc ions,which not only contributes to blocking the interfacial side reactions but also induces stable and calm zinc plating/***,the modified electrolyte can confer the assembled Zn||Zn symmetric cell with a stable operation life over 1500 h at 1 mA·cm^(−2.and 1 mAh·cm^(−2.as well as the practical Zn||NH4V4O10 full battery with a high-rate capacity of 12. mAh·g^(−1)at the current density of 5 A·g^(−1).This work provides a way for regulating and reusing interfacial by-products,and a new sight on stabilization electrodes/electrolyte interfaces.

The evaluation of urban underground space(UUS)suitability involves multiple *** weight to these indicators is crucial for accurate *** paper presents a method for spatially variable weight assignment of indicators using the order relation analysis method(G1-method),the entropy weight method,an improved grey relational analysis(GRA)and a set of spatial weight adjustment ***,the subjective and objective weights of indicators for engineering geological and hydrogeological conditions were determined by the G1-method and entropy weight method,respectively,and their combined weights were then obtained using the principle of minimum discriminatory *** study highlighted the impact of surface restrictions,such as buildings,on UUS,and the degree of the influence of these buildings gradually decreased with the increase in depth of the rock and soil mass in UUS,which resulted in changes in weights of indicators with *** address this issue,a coefficient was defined as the standardized value of the ratio of additional stress applied by restrictions to the self-weight stress of soil at the same depth to modify the combined weights so that all weights of indicators could vary in ***,an improved GRA was used to determine the suitability level of each evaluation cell using the maximum correlation *** method was applied to the 3. suitability evaluation of UUS in Sanlong Bay,Foshan City,Guangdong Province,china,including 16 evaluation *** study comprehensively considered the influence of multiple factors,thereby providing reference for evaluating the suitability of UUS in big cities.

The travelling wave solutions of a generalized Camassa-Holm-Degasperis-Procesi equation ut-uxxt + (1 + b)umux = buxuxx + uuxxx are considered where b > 1 and m are positive integers. The qualitative analysis methods of planar autonomous systems yield its phase portraits. Its soliton wave solutions, kink or antikink wave solutions, peakon wave solutions, compacton wave solutions, periodic wave solutions and periodic cusp wave solutions are obtained. Some numerical simulations of these solutions are also given.

Engineering high‐performance and low‐cost bifunctional catalysts for H_(2.(hydrogen evolution reaction[HER])and O_(2.(oxygen evolution reaction[OER])evolution under industrial electrocatalytic conditions remains ***,for the first time,we use the stronger electronegativity of a rare‐Earth yttrium ion(Y^(3.))to induce in situ NiCo‐layered double‐hydroxide nanosheets from NiCo foam(NCF)treated by a dielectric barrier discharge plasma NCF(PNCF),and then obtain nitrogen‐doped YNiCo phosphide(N‐YNiCoP/PNCF)after the phosphating process using radiofrequency plasma in *** obtained NYNiCoP/PNCF has a large specific surface area,rich heterointerfaces,and an optimized electronic structure,inducing high electrocatalytic activity in HER(3.1mV vs.2.00mA cm^(−2.)and OER(464mV vs.2.00mA cm^(−2.)reactions in 1MKOH electrolyte.X‐ray absorption spectroscopy and density functional theory quantum chemistry calculations reveal that the coordination number of CoNi decreased with the incorporation of Y atoms,which induce much shorter bonds of Ni and Co ions and promote long‐term stability of N‐YNiCoP in HER and OER under the simulated industrial ***,the CoN‐YP_(5)heterointerface formed by plasma N‐doping is the active center for overall water *** work expands the applications of rare‐Earth elements in engineering bifunctional electrocatalysts and provides a new avenue for designing highperformance transition‐metal‐based catalysts in the renewable energy field.

The development of stable and highly efficien multifunctional electrocatalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction （HER）,oxygen reduction reaction （ORR） and oxygen evolution reaction （OER） are essential for the efficient conversion and storage of renewable *** significant advantages of single-atom catalysts,such as strong metal slab interactions,unsaturated coordination and efficient atomic utilization,have opened new avenues for designing multifunctional ***,based on density functional theory,a single atom doped PdPX system was designed as a multifunctional electrocatalyst,which demonstrated the synergistic effect between defects and transition metal atoms and led to enhanced catalytic *** results showed that PdPS/PdPSe with P/X vacancy,PdPTe with P/Pd vacancy and Co/Rh/Ir@PdPX exhibited promising HER ***@PdPS（Se）,with an overpotential of 0.56（0.44） V,was predicted to be a promising OER ***,Rh（Ir）@PdPS（Se）catalysts exhibited efficient catalytic properties for ORR Besides,Co@PdPS（Se）,Rh（Ir）@PdPSV（S）,Co@PdP-SeV（Se）and Ir@PdPSV（S）-1exihibited multifunctional catalytic performance with moderate ***,the origin of catalytic activity was revealed by using the crystal orbital Hamilton populations *** a strong adsorption system,proper filling of the anti-bonding state can increase the energy of the system,weaken the adsorption strength,and facilitate the desorption of intermediates Conversely,augmenting bonding states can enhance its adsorption *** findings provide theoretica guidance for the design and fabrication of novel multifunctional electrocatalysts in terms of filling of bondingstate.
