Fuzheng Jiedu granule exhibits a number of health benefits and it is thought that the mechanisms involved in these effects are due to the modulation of immunity. In this article, we studied the effect of Fuzheng Jiedu granule on immunological function and the expression of immune-related cytokines in immune-suppressed mice. 72 mice were randomly divided into six groups, with 12 in each group. The control groups included an untreated group, a negative control group（Cyclophosphamide） and a positive control group（Astragalus polysaccharide）. There were three treated groups, which were given different doses of Fuzheng Jiedu granule： a low dose（100 mg kg^（–1））, a medium dose（400 mg kg^（–1）） and a high dose（600 mg kg^（–1））. With the exception of the untreated control animals, each group received an intraperitoneal injection of Cyclophosphamide（100 mg kg^（–1）） for 3 days to establish the immune-suppressed model. Mice were then treated for 19 consecutive days and, 24 h after the last treatment, blood was taken for the eyeballs and serum separation was performed. Analysis was made of the levels of related cytokines（IgA, IgG, IgM, IL-6, IFN-γ, C3, C4 and TNF-α）, the transformation of lymphocytes and the immune organ indexes. The results showed that Fuzheng Jiedu granule can improve the levels of cytokines, the rate of proliferation of lymphocytes and the immune organ indexes of immune-suppressed mice.

Contamination of deoxynivalenol（DON） in grains is common worldwide and pigs are particularly susceptible to this mycotoxin. The distribution of DON in porcine tissues following intravenous administration was investigated in this study. Fifteen pigs were randomly divided into three groups. Animals in groups A and B were administrated with DON at the dose of 250 and 750 μg kg–1 body weight, respectively, while group C served as blank control. Plasma, bile and 27 tissues were collected at 30 min post-administration. DON concentrations in all samples were tested using high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry（HPLC-MS/MS）. To observe the distribution of DON in tissues, these samples were further subjected to the immunohistochemical analyses. Totally, the bile and 13 tissues were sampled for DON-based detection, including kidney, mesenteric lymph nodes, muscle, stomach, jejunum, colon, plasma, spleen, rectum, cecum, liver, ileum, and duodenum. No significant difference was observed for the concentrations of DON in duodenum, ileum and liver samples between groups A and B; while the DON concentrations in cecum and rectum of group B were significantly higher（P-value 〈0.05） than those in group A. In addition, the DON concentrations in stomach, jejunum, colon, mesenteric lymph nodes, muscle, kidney, spleen, bile, and plasma of group B were remarkably higher than those of group A（P-value〈0.01）. Levels of DON in other 14 tissues including medulla oblongata, midbrain, diencephalon, pons, tip and tongue body, tongue, soft palate, tonsils, pharyngeal mucosa, oral buccal mucosa, thymus, thyroid, esophagus and adrenal gland were all below the limit of detection. The results of immunohistochemistry showed that 11 tissue samples（medullaoblongata, tonsil, adrenal medulla, thyroid gland, thyroid, stomach, duodenum, jejunum, kidney, spleen, and mesenteric lymph nodes） were positive and DON was mainly distributed around blood vessels in these tissues. An accurate and precise method for the determination of tulathromycin in swine plasma was developed and validated.Plasma samples were analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry detection （HPLC-MS/MS） using electrospray ionization （ESI）.Tulathromycin was extracted from plasma by precipitation with acetonitrile and separated using a Phenomenex Luna 5 μm C18 column （150 mm×2.0 mm） at a flow rate of 0.25 mL min^-1.Solvent A consisted of 0.002 mol L^-1 ammonium acetate and formic acid （999：1,v/v）,and solvent B was acetonitrile.The mass spectrometer was operated in the selected-ion mode with atmospheric pressure chemical ionization to monitor the respective MH＋ ions,namely,m/z 577.3 for tulathromycin and m/z 679.3 for the internal standard roxithromycin.The calibration curves were linear in a dynamic range of 2.0-500 ng mL^-1 on the column.The accuracy was ranged from 95.25 to 109.75%,and the precision was ranged from 2.81 to 7.72%.The recoveries measured at 3 concentration levels （20,250,and 500 ng mL^-1） were higher than 98%.The method described above is efficient,and has the required accuracy and precision for rapid determination of tulathromycin in plasma.The method was applied to study the pharmacokinetics of tulathromycin in swine,and tulathromycin demonstrated a rapid absorption,wide distribution,and slow elimination after intramuscular administration.

Tin mine tailings(TMT)and fuming slag(FS)contain many heavy metals(As,Cr,Cu,Zn and Mn)that cause severe pollution to the environment.Herein,geopolymers were prepared using TMT,FS and flue gas desulfurization gypsum(FGDG)to immobilize heavy metals,and their compressive strength and heavy metal leaching toxicity were investigated.It was first determined that T4F5(TMT:FS=4:5)sample exhibited the highest compressive strength(7.83 MPa).T4F5 achieved 95%immobilization efficiency for As and Cr,and nearly 100%for Cu,Zn and Mn,showing good immobilization performance.A series of characterization analyses showed that heavy metal cations can balance the charge in the geopolymer and replace Al in the geopolymer structure to form covalent bonds.In addition,about 2%–20%of heavy metal Fe was immobilized in hydration products,heavy metal hydroxides and non-bridging Si–O and Al–O coordination with silica-aluminate matrices.AsO33−was oxidized into AsO43−,which may form Ca–As or Fe–As precipitates.Cr2O72−was converted to CrO42−under alkaline environment and then combined with OH−to form Cr(OH)3 precipitates.Mn2+may react directly with dissolved silicate to form Mn2SiO4 and also form Mn(OH)2 precipitates.The unstable Mn(OH)2 can be further oxidized to MnO2.The heavy metal cations were immobilized in the silicoaluminate lattice,while the anions tended to form insoluble precipitates.These results may benefit the industry and government for better handling of TMT,FS and solid wastes containing the abovementioned five heavy metals.

Prediction of suitable water content in granulation of sintering mixture based on Litster's model

Suitable water content plays a decisive role in the granulation of sintering mixtures.Herein,a method was proposed to predict the suitable water content for effective granulation on the basis of Litster's granulation model.The granulation effectiveness of a sintering mixture was predicted by the model,with the allowance error of±10%.The effects of the water absorption properties,particle size composition and content of adhesive particles on the suitable water content were studied.The results showed that the allowable error of prediction was within±0.5%compared to the experimentally determined suitable water content.With an increase in adhesive powder content of mixtures with higher water absorption,the suitable water content increased to achieve similar granulation effectiveness.Moreover,as the amount of concentrates increased,the suitable water content first increased and then remained steady.The influence of the water absorption characteristics of the adhesive particles on the suitable water content was less than that of their particle size composition in the mixture.

Presented here is a one-pot strategy starting from rationally designed macrocyclic precursors for the diverse construction of sophisticated ultracycles.The type and amount of the base were found to significantly influence the macrocyclization outcome.The use of 4.0 equiv.CsF resulted in ultracycles of both types A and B while the presence of CsF larger than 6.0 equiv.produced only type B ultracycles.Existence of anion template increased the total yields and affected the distribution of the ultracycles.The ultracycles can accommodate large organic dicarboxylates anions via multiple anion-πand hydrogen bonds,and show selectivity to the size-matched heptanedioate(C7^(2−)).Based on all possible species and relevant equilibrium constants as well as material and charge balances,a numerical iterative algorithm was developed and applied to fit the association constants of B2H with dicarboxylates from glutarate(C5^(2−))to octanedioate(C8^(2−)),which gave association constants up to 10^(3) L/mol.

Developing earth-abundant electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction（HER） is important for the sustainable energy economy.Herein,efficient and stable heterocatalysts consisting of crystalline-amorphous M@MNx（M=Co,Fe,Ni） encapsulated in N-doped carbon layers supported with N-doped graphene sheets（denoted as M@MNx@NC-NG） are synthesized by facile hydrothermal reaction and nitridation process.During the nitriding process,metal ions in M（tzbc）2（H2O）4(tzbc=4-（1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl） benzoic acid) complexes are reduced to crystalline M cores,accompanied by the formation of amorphous MNxshells;the tzbc ligands are insitu carbonized to form outermost N-doped carbon（NC）layers that connect with inner MNxvia M-N-C motifs inherited from the complex precursors and inhibit the transition of MNxfrom amorphous to crystalline phase.The Co@CoNx@NC-NG catalyst exhibits excellent HER activity with small overpotentials of 45 and 64 mV at a cathode current density of 10 mA·cm-2and low Tafel slopes of 40 and 85 mV·dec-1in 0.5 mol·L-1H2SO4and1.0 mol·L-1KOH electrolytes,respectively.The Co@CoNx@NC-NG retains 97% of the initial overpotential after 100,000 s in both acidic and alkaline media.Such outstanding HER performance originates from the crystalline-amorphous Co@CoNxthat redistributes electrons around the heterointerfaces,facilitating the conversion process of H+/H2O to hydrogen and thereby promoting HER kinetics.The outermost NC layers serve as the armor of Co@CoNx,and graphene nanosheets act as carriers of egg-like Co@CoNx@NC and conduction paths for electron shuttles,ensuring stable and continuous electrocatalytic hydrogen production.

With the rapid development of the fields of tumor biology and immunology, tumor immunotherapy has been used in clinical practice and has demonstrated significant therapeutic potential, particularly for treating tumors that do not respond to standard treatment options. Despite its advances, immunotherapy still has limitations, such as poor clinical response rates and differences in individual patient responses, largely because tumor tissues have strong immunosuppressive microenvironments. Many tumors have a tumor microenvironment (TME) that is characterized by hypoxia, low pH, and substantial numbers of immunosuppressive cells, and these are the main factors limiting the efficacy of antitumor immunotherapy. The TME is crucial to the occurrence, growth, and metastasis of tumors. Therefore, numerous studies have been devoted to improving the effects of immunotherapy by remodeling the TME. Effective regulation of the TME and reversal of immunosuppressive conditions are effective strategies for improving tumor immunotherapy. The use of multidrug combinations to improve the TME is an efficient way to enhance antitumor immune efficacy. However, the inability to effectively target drugs decreases therapeutic effects and causes toxic side effects. Nanodrug delivery carriers have the advantageous ability to enhance drug bioavailability and improve drug targeting. Importantly, they can also regulate the TME and deliver large or small therapeutic molecules to decrease the inhibitory effect of the TME on immune cells. Therefore, nanomedicine has great potential for reprogramming immunosuppressive microenvironments and represents a new immunotherapeutic strategy. Therefore, this article reviews strategies for improving the TME and summarizes research on synergistic nanomedicine approaches that enhance the efficacy of tumor immunotherapy.

The pervasive utilization of industrial substances has escalated human exposure to cadmium(Cd),a metal associated with long-term negative health outcomes such as renal dysfunction,neurological disorders,and various cancers^([1]).Once ingested by humans,Cd interacts with cysteine-rich metallothioneins(MTs)which have metal-binding and antioxidant properties and is subsequently transported to the kidney^([2]).
