Machine learning for prediction of retained austenite fraction and optimization of processing in quenched and partitioned steels

The metastable retained austenite(RA)plays a significant role in the excellent mechanical performance of quenching and partitioning(Q&P)steels,while the volume fraction of RA(V_(RA))is challengeable to directly predict due to the complicated relationships between the chemical composition and process(like quenching temperature(Qr)).A Gaussian process regression model in machine learning was developed to predict V_(RA),and the model accuracy was further improved by introducing a metallurgical parameter of martensite fraction(fo)to accurately predict V_(RA) in Q&P *** developed machine learning model combined with Bayesian global optimization can serve as another selection strategy for the quenching temperature,and this strategy is very effcient as it found the"optimum"Qr with the maximum V_(RA) using only seven consecutive *** benchmark experiment also reveals that the developed machine learning model predicts V_(RA) more accurately than the popular constrained carbon equilibrium thermodynamic model,even better than a thermo-kinetic quenching-partitioning-tempering-local equilibrium model.

The construction of a new beamline,BL10U1,was completed at the Shanghai synchrotron radiation facility in *** multipurpose beamline was designed to provide X-ray scattering techniques such as ultra-small-angle X-ray scattering(USAXS),small-angle X-ray scattering(SAXS),wide-angle X-ray scattering,and microfocus SAXS(μSAXS)for a broad user *** realize fast time-resolved USAXS experiments,the beamline adopted an in-vacuum undulator with a total length of 1.6 m as the photon *** in-house cryogenic-cooled double multilayer monochromator was installed to deliver a photon flux of approximately 10^(13) photons/s at a photon energy of 10 *** three-year successful operation of this beamline demonstrated that the monochromator operated smoothly,as ***10U1 has three end stations in succession:USAXS end station,μSAXS end station,and end station for industrial *** minimum scattering vector q~0.0042 nm^(-1) at 10 keV can be achieved at the USAXS end station equipped with a 28 m-long and 1.8 m-diameter vacuum flight *** theμSAXS end station,a beam spot of less than 10×8μm was achieved for micro-SAXS *** contrast,in situ experimental instruments up to 5 m high and 8 m wide can be mounted at the industrial application end station,which offers industrial scientists the opportunity to use their large industrial ***10U1 opens up a new capability to investigate phenomena such as non-equilibrium and dynamic processes of materials with a wide length scale from angstroms to micrometers with millisecond time *** this paper,we also report beamline design considerations and commissioning results.

Integrating electrochemical reduction of CO_(2)and electrochemical oxidation to recycle degraded superalloys is a promising solution to ease resource scarcity and safeguard environmental ***,we propose an electrochemical technique for the conversion of bulk superalloy scraps and CO_(2)into oxide powder at the anode and solid carbon at the cathode,*** particular,a borax-modifi ed CaCl_(2)-based molten salt electrolyte is used for enhancing the electrochemical oxidation of superalloy *** a temperature of 700℃and a voltage of 2.8 V,90.55 wt.%of alloy scraps were oxidized in a molten CaCl_(2)–NaCl–CaCO_(3)–Na_(2)B_(4)O_(7)with an acid–base ratio(K_(a/b))of *** synergy of Cl−and B_(4)O_(7)2−of electrolyte prevents the passivation of the alloy anode and enables continuous ***,the Ni and Co in the anode products are recovered by sulfation roasting with recovery efficiencies of 85.58%and 95.27%for Ni and Co,***,modulating the alkalinity of the electrolyte for enhancing oxidation/pulverization of alloy scrap anode provides new insight into electrochemically recovering superalloy scraps.

Technical and Dosimetric Study of Four Facio-cervical Fields Conformal Radiotherapy for Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

Objective： The aim of this study is to establish the methods of four facio-cervical fields＇ conformal radiotherapy （4F-CRT） for nasopharyngeal carcinoma （NPC）, and to optimize the methods for clinical practice. Methods and Materials： 40 patients with untreated NPC of T1-T4 （1997AJCC Staging System） were rolled into this study. Conventional and four ratio-cervical fields conform plans were designed for each patient using Pinnacle 8.0 three-dimension treatment planning system （3D-TPS）： 1） Improved plan, four ratio-cervical fields＇conform plans, anterior, posterior ratio-cervical and 2 lateral opposing facio-eervical fields; 2） Conventional plan, two lateral opposing facio-cervical fields only with the same dose delivered to the target in each plan, close volume histograms （DVHs） of the targets and normal organs, brain stem, spinal cord, parotid glands, and temporal mandibular joints （TMJs） were compared and the dose distribution were evaluated. Results： 1） The dose distribution of the improved plan could meet the requirements for the target volume. 2） There was not any significant difference in the dose of spinal cord between the two plans. The mean doses of Dmax for brain stem in conventional plan were much lower than those in the improved plan, though both were within safety limits. 3） Compared with the conventional plans, the improved plan significantly decreased the hotspot areas in the target volume and had better parotid glands and temporal mandibular joints sparing effect. Conclusion： Compared with the conventional plan, the improved plan provides satisfactory dose coverage to the tumor volume and better sparing of the parotid gland, TMJs and other normal tissues in external beam radiotherapy of NPC.

Optical information transmission is vital in modern optics and photonics due to its concurrent and multi-dimensional nature,leading to tremendous applications such as optical microscopy,holography,and optical *** optical information transmission technologies suffer from bulky optical setup and information loss/crosstalk when meeting scatterers or obstacles in the light ***,we theoretically propose and experimentally realize the simultaneous manipulation of the coherence lengths and coherence structures of the light beams with the disordered *** ultra-robust optical information transmission and self-reconstruction can be realized by the generated partially coherent beam with modulated coherence structure even 93%of light is recklessly obstructed during light transmission,which brings new light to robust optical information transmission with a single *** method provides a generic principle for the generalized coherence manipulation on the photonic platform and displays a variety of functionalities advancing capabilities in optical information transmission such as meta-holography and imaging in disordered and perturbative media.

Objective:To assess the efficacy and safety of Sanjie Analgesic Capsule(SAC)in Chinese patients with endometriosis-associated ***:This was a multicenter,randomized,double-blind,placebo-controlled trial conducted at 15 centers between November 2013 and July 2017 in *** 323 patients with endometriosis were randomized at a 3:1 ratio to the SAC group(241 cases)and placebo group(82 cases)by stratified block *** in the SAC or placebo groups were given SAC or placebo 1.6 g 3 times per day,orally,respectively since the first day of menstruation for 3 consecutive menstrual *** primary endpoint was clinical response to dysmenorrhea evaluated using a 10-point Visual Analogue Scale at 3 and 6 *** secondary endpoint was the pain score evaluated by VAS(chronic pelvic pain,defecation pain,and dyspareunia)at 3 and 6 months,and the pain recurrence rate at 6 *** events(AEs)were recorded during the ***:A total of 241 women were included in the SAC group,and 82 were in the placebo *** these women,217(90.0%)and 71(86.6%)completed the intervention,*** 3 months,overall response rate(ORR)was significantly higher in women administered SAC(80.1%)compared with those who received a placebo(30.5%,P<0.01).Six months after treatment,the ORR for dysmenorrhea was 62.7%in the SAC group and 31.7%in the placebo group(P<0.01).Chronic pelvic pain and defecation pain were significantly improved by SAC compared with placebo(both P<0.05).The incidence rates of total AEs events in the SAC and placebo groups were 6.6%and 9.8%,respectively,and no significant difference was shown between the two groups(P=0.339).Conclusion:SAC is well-tolerated and may improve dysmenorrhea in women with endometriosis-associated pain.

Effects of maternal methyl donor intake during pregnancy on ileum methylation and function in an intrauterine growth restriction pig model

Background Intrauterine growth retardation(IUGR)affects intestinal growth,morphology,and function,which leads to poor growth performance and high *** present study explored whether maternal dietary methyl donor(MET)supplementation alleviates IUGR and enhances offspring’s growth performance by improving intestinal growth,function,and DNA methylation of the ileum in a porcine IUGR *** Forty multiparous sows were allocated to the control or MET diet groups from mating until *** farrowing,8 pairs of IUGR and normal birth weight piglets from 8 litters were selected for sampling before suckling *** The results showed that maternal MET supplementation tended to decrease the IUGR incidence and increased the average weaning weight of ***,maternal MET supplementation significantly reduced the plasma concentrations of isoleucine,cysteine,urea,and total amino acids in sows and newborn *** also increased lactase and sucrase activity in the jejunum of newborn *** addition resulted in lower ileal methionine synthase activity and increased betaine homocysteine S-methyltransferase activity in the ileum of newborn *** methylation analysis of the ileum showed that MET supplementation increased the methyla-tion level of DNA CpG sites in the ileum of newborn ***-regulated differentially methylated genes were enriched in folic acid binding,insulin receptor signaling pathway,and endothelial cell *** contrast,up-regulated methylated genes were enriched in growth hormone receptor signaling pathway and nitric oxide biosyn-thetic *** Maternal MET supplementation can reduce the incidence of IUGR and increase the weaning litter weight of piglets,which may be associated with better intestinal function and methylation status.

Integration of metal-organic layers with quantum dots for artificial photosynthesis

Metal-organic layers（MOLs）, a type of new-emerging two-dimensional ultrathin metal-organic framework materials with large surface areas and highly exposed active sites, have shown promising applications in photocatalytic CO2reduction. However, due to a lack of photosensitivity and photooxidation capability, photosensitizers and sacrificial reductants are usually necessary for MOLs-based photocatalytic CO2reduction systems. In this article, by integration of MOLs and quantum dots（QDs）, we constructed MOLs-based catalysts with multi-functions of photosensitivity, photoreduction and photooxidation, which thus can serve as photocatalysts for CO2reduction with H2O as an electron donor. Specifically, by an electrostatic self-assembly approach,nickel（Ⅱ）-based MOLs（Ni-MOLs） and CsPbBr3QDs have been assembled, constructing valid Ⅱ-Scheme Ni-MOLs/CsPbBr3heterojunctions with close Ni-MOLs/CsPbBr3heterointerface. Such a close heterointerface shortens the charge transfer distance,thus effectively boosting the charge separation and transfer. As a result, upon illumination by visible light(λ ≥ 400 nm,100 m W cm-2), the optimized photocatalyst shows high efficiency and stability in photochemical CO2reduction in the absence of any photosensitizers and sacrificial reductants. The CO yield reaches as high as 124 μmol g-1in 4 h, over 6 times higher than that achieved by CsPbBr3. Additionally, the selectivity reaches 100%. This work provides a new way to construct MOL-based catalysts for artificial photosynthesis.
