Objective:Osteoarthritis(OA)is a degenerative joint disorder characterized by the gradual degradation of joint cartilage and local inflammation.This study aimed to investigate the anti-OA effect of scutellarein(SCU),a single-unit flavonoid compound obtained from Scutellaria barbata D.Don,in rats.Methods:The extracted rat chondrocytes were treated with SCU and IL-1β.The chondrocytes were divided into control group,IL-1β group,IL-1β+SCU 50 μmol/L group,and IL-1β+SCU 100 pmol/L group.Morphology of rat chondrocytes was observed by toluidine blue and safranin O staining.CCK-8 method was used to detect the cytotoxicity of SCU.ELISA,qRT-PCR,Western blotting,immunofluorescence,SAβ-gal staining,flow cytometry,and bioinformatics analysis were applied to evaluate the effect of SCU on rat chondrocytes under IL-1β intervention.Additionally,anterior cruciate ligament transection(ACL-T)was used to establish a rat OA model.Histological changes were detected by safranin O/fast green,hematoxylin-eosin(HE)staining,and immunohistochemistry.Results:SCU protected cartilage and exhibited anti-inflammatory effects via multiple mechanisms.Specifically,it could enhance the synthesis of extracellular matrix in cartilage cells and inhibit its degradation.In addition,SCU partially inhibited the nuclear factor kappa-B/mitogen-activated protein kinase(NF-κB/MAPK)pathway,thereby reducing inflammatory cytokine production in the joint cartilage.Furthermore,SCU significantly reduced IL-1β-induced apoptosis and senescence in rat chondrocytes,further highlighting its potential role in OA treatment.In vivo experiments revealed that SCU(at a dose of 50 mg/kg)administered for 2 months could significantly delay the progression of cartilage damage,which was reflected in a lower Osteoarthritis Research Society International(OARSI)score,and reduced expression of matrix metalloproteinase 13(MMP13)in cartilage.Conclusion:SCU is effective in the therapeutic management of OA and could serve as a potential candidate for future clinical drug therapy for OA.

BACKGROUND To ensure clinical efficacy and prolong patient survival,treatments such as surgery and microwave ablation(MWA)are used for early liver cancer.MWA is preferred because it effectively preserves the normal liver tissue and causes transient coagulation necrosis of local liver tumor cells.However,due to technical limitations,the cancerous liver tissue cannot be completely ablated;therefore,the probability of local tumor recurrence is high.AIM To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of ultrasound-guided percutaneous MWA in the treatment of small liver cancer.METHODS A total of 118 patients treated for small liver cancer in The Central Hospital of Yongzhou from January 2018 to April 2019 were selected.Sixty-six patients received ultrasound-guided percutaneous MWA(MWA group)and 52 received laparoscopic surgery(laparoscope group).The operation time,blood loss,hospital stay,and medical expenses of both groups were statistically analyzed.Serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),total bilirubin(TBIL),albumin(ALB),alpha fetal protein(AFP),carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA),and peripheral blood regulatory T lymphocytes(Treg)levels were evaluated pre-and post-operatively.The cross-sectional area of tumors measured before and after ablation was analyzed statistically;the therapeutic effect was compared between both groups in terms of surgical complications,2-year progression-free survival rate,and overall survival rate.RESULTS The operation time,blood loss,hospital stay,and medical expenses in the MWA group were lower than those of the laparoscope group,and the differences were significant(P0.05).The operation time,blood loss,hospital stay,and medical expenses for 2 d and 1 wk after surgery,the ALT and AST of the MWA group were lower than those of the laparoscope group,and the difference was significant(P<0.05).The operation time,blood loss,hospital sta

Unraveling the diversification mechanisms of organisms is a fundamental and important macroevolutionary question regarding the diversity,ecological niche, and morphological divergence of life. However, many studies have only explored diversification mechanisms via isolated factors. Here,based on comparative phylogenetic analysis, we performed a macroevolutionary examination of horseshoe bats(Chiroptera: Rhinolophidae:Rhinolophus), to reveal the inter-relationships among diversification, intrinsic/extrinsic factors, and climatic ecological niche characteristics. Results showed a general slowing trajectory during diversification, with two dispersal events from Asia into Southeast Asia and Africa playing key roles in shaping regional heterogeneous diversity. Morphospace expansions of the investigated traits(e.g., body size,echolocation, and climate niche) revealed a decoupled pattern between diversification trajectory and trait divergence, suggesting that other factors(e.g., biotic interactions) potentially played a key role in recent diversification. Based on ancestral traits and pathway analyses, most Rhinolophus lineages belonging to the same region overlapped with each other geographically and were positively associated with the diversification rate, implying a competitive prelude to speciation. Overall, our study showed that multiple approaches need to be integrated to address diversification history. Rather than a single factor, the joint effects of multiple factors(biogeography, environmental drivers, and competition) are responsible for the current diversity patterns in horseshoe bats, and a corresponding multifaceted strategy is recommended to study these patterns in the future.

Intensive insulin therapy has been extensively used to control blood glucose levels because of its ability to reduce the risk of chronic complications of diabetes.According to current guidelines,intensive glycemic control requires individu-alized glucose goals rather than as low as possible.During intensive therapy,rapid blood glucose reduction can aggravate microvascular and macrovascular complications,and prolonged overuse of insulin can lead to treatment-induced neuropathy and retinopathy,hypoglycemia,obesity,lipodystrophy,and insulin antibody syndrome.Therefore,we need to develop individualized hypoglycemic plans for patients with diabetes,including the time required for blood glucose normalization and the duration of intensive insulin therapy,which deserves further study.

For a rectifable Jordan curve Γ with complementary domainsD and D,Anderson conjectured that the Faber operator is a bounded isomorphism between the Besov spaces Bp（1 〈 p 〈 ∞） of analytic functions in the unit disk and in the inner domain D,respectively.We point out that the conjecture is not true in the special case p=2,and show that in this case the Faber operator is a bounded isomorphism if and only if Γ is a quasi-circle.

蒸发皿蒸发量(E_(pan))是衡量大气蒸发需求的重要指标。基于物理模型对西双版纳热带植物园中热带雨林综合气象观测场(XTBG气象站)的气象资料进行分析,有助于提高我们对西双版纳热带雨林区域水文循环状况的认识。本文利用1959-2021年的观测资料,研究了E_(pan)的长期变化趋势,并进行了趋势检验、周期性评价和突变分析等相关分析。基于1979-2008年D20 E_(pan)数据和相关气象资料,利用Penman-Monteith和PenPan模型对E_(pan)进行模拟,采用偏微分归因法分析了影响E_(pan)的主导因素。研究结果表明,E_(pan)具有明显的周期变化,19 a为第一主周期。而且,西双版纳地区存在明显的‘蒸发悖论’现象。E_(pan)在1959-2008年和2009-2018年均呈下降趋势,其中1959-2008年下降幅度达到显著水平,为-3.404 mm·a^(-2)。通过对比分析,认为PenPan模型更适合用于模拟西双版纳地区的E_(pan)。为了确定影响E_(pan)的主要气象因子,选取了D20蒸发皿完整监测时期的数据(1979-2008)进行归因计算。太阳净辐射和饱和蒸汽压差的减小趋势可以有效抵消气温上升对E_(pan)的促进作用。因此,净辐射和饱和蒸汽压差的变化是西双版纳‘蒸发悖论’现象的主要触发因素。

BACKGROUND While the impact of depression on cognition is well-documented,the relationship between feelings and cognition has received limited attention.AIM To explore the potential association between feelings and cognition with a twosample Mendelian randomization(MR)analysis.METHODS Our analysis utilized genome-wide association data on various feelings(fed-up feelings,n=453071;worrier/anxious feelings,n=450765;guilty feelings,n=45-0704;nervous feelings,n=450700;sensitivity/hurt feelings,n=449419;miserableness,n=454982;loneliness/isolation,n=455364;happiness,n=152348)in the European population and their impact on cognitive functions(intelligence,n=269867).Conducting a univariable MR(UVMR)analysis to assess the relationship between feelings and cognition.In this analysis,we applied the inverse variance weighting(IVW),weighted median,and MR Egger methods.Additionally,we performed sensitivity analysis(leave-one-out analysis),assessed heterogeneity(using MR-PRESSO and Cochran’s Q test),and conducted multiple validity test(employing MR-Egger regression).Subsequently,a multivariable MR(MVMR)analysis was employed to examine the impact of feelings on cognition.IVW served as the primary method in the multivariable analysis,complemented by median-based and MR-Egger methods.RESULTS In this study,UVMR indicated that sensitivity/hurt feelings may have a negative causal effect on cognition(OR=0.63,95%CI:0.43-0.92,P=0.017).After adjustment of other feelings using MVMR,a direct adverse causal effect on cognition was observed(OR_(MVMR)=0.39,95%CI:0.17-0.90,P_(MVMR)=0.027).While a potential increased risk of cognitive decline was observed for fed-up feelings in the UVMR analysis(ORUVMR=0.64,95%CI:0.42-0.97,PUVMR=0.037),this effect disappeared after adjusting for other feelings(OR_(MVMR)=1.42,95%CI:0.43-4.74,P_(MVMR)=0.569).These findings were generally consistent across MV-IVW,median-based,and MR-Egger analyses.MR-Egger regression revealed pleiotropy in the impact of worrier/anxious feelings on cognition,presenting a challenge in

To the Editor： Dermatopathic lymphadenitis （DL） represents a rare benign lymphatic hyperplasia commonly associated with exfoliative or eczematoid dermatitis. DL was also reported to be a potential mimicker of lymphoma. Here, we report the ^18F-fluorodeoxyglucose （^18F-FDG） positron emission tomography/ computer tomograpby （PET/CT） results and the histological findings of a 40-year-old female patient with DL.
