Based on the generalized Hamilton's principle,the nonlinear governing equation of an axially functionally graded(AFG)pipe is established.The non-trivial equilibrium configuration is superposed by the modal functions of a simply supported beam.Via the direct multi-scale method,the response and stability boundary to the pulsating fluid velocity are solved analytically and verified by the differential quadrature element method(DQEM).The influence of Young's modulus gradient on the parametric resonance is investigated in the subcritical and supercritical regions.In general,the pipe in the supercritical region is more sensitive to the pulsating excitation.The nonlinearity changes from hard to soft,and the non-trivial equilibrium configuration introduces more frequency components to the vibration.Besides,the increasing Young's modulus gradient improves the critical pulsating flow velocity of the parametric resonance,and further enhances the stability of the system.In addition,when the temperature increases along the axial direction,reducing the gradient parameter can enhance the response asymmetry.This work further complements the theoretical analysis of pipes conveying pulsating fluid.

GraphFlow+:Exploiting Conversation Flow in Conversational Machine Comprehension with Graph Neural Networks

The conversation machine comprehension(MC)task aims to answer questions in the multi-turn conversation for a single passage.However,recent approaches don’t exploit information from historical conversations effectively,which results in some references and ellipsis in the current question cannot be recognized.In addition,these methods do not consider the rich semantic relationships between words when reasoning about the passage text.In this paper,we propose a novel model GraphFlow+,which constructs a context graph for each conversation turn and uses a unique recurrent graph neural network(GNN)to model the temporal dependencies between the context graphs of each turn.Specifically,we exploit three different ways to construct text graphs,including the dynamic graph,static graph,and hybrid graph that combines the two.Our experiments on CoQA,QuAC and DoQA show that the GraphFlow+model can outperform the state-of-the-art approaches.

Risk Factors Asscociated with Hypokalemia during Postanesthesia Recovery and Its Impact on Outcomes in Gynecological Patients:A Propensity Score Matching Study

Objective:This study aimed to explore the risk factors and outcomes of hypokalemia during the recovery period from anesthesia in the gynecological population.Methods:This retrospective cohort study included 208 patients who underwent gynecological surgery at our institution between January 2021 and March 2022.Data were collected for each patient,including demographics,disease status,surgical data,and clinical information.Preoperative bowel preparation,postoperative gastrointestinal function,and electrolyte levels were compared between the two groups using propensity score matching(PSM).Results:The incidence of hypokalemia(serum potassium level<3.5 mmol/L)during the recovery period from anesthesia was approximately 43.75%.After PSM,oral laxative use(96.4%vs.82.4%,P=0.005),the number of general enemas(P=0.014),and the rate of≥2 general enemas(92.9%vs.77.8%,P=0.004)were identified as risk factors for hypokalemia,which was accompanied by decreased PaCO2 and hypocalcemia.There were no significant differences in postoperative gastrointestinal outcomes,such as the time to first flatus or feces,the I-FEED score(a scoring system was created to evaluate impaired postoperative gastrointestinal function),or postoperative recovery outcomes,between the hypokalemia group and the normal serum potassium group.Conclusion:Hypokalemia during postanesthesia recovery period occurred in 43.75%of gynecological patients,which resulted from preoperative mechanical bowel preparation;however,it did not directly affect clinical outcomes,including postoperative gastrointestinal function,postoperative complications,and length of hospital stay.

This paper focuses on term-status pair extraction from medical dialogues(MD-TSPE),which is essential in diagnosis dia-logue systems and the automatic scribe of electronic medical records(EMRs).In the past few years,works on MD-TSPE have attracted increasing research attention,especially after the remarkable progress made by generative methods.However,these generative methods output a whole sequence consisting of term-status pairs in one stage and ignore integrating prior knowledge,which demands a deeper un-derstanding to model the relationship between terms and infer the status of each term.This paper presents a knowledge-enhanced two-stage generative framework(KTGF)to address the above challenges.Using task-specific prompts,we employ a single model to com-plete the MD-TSPE through two phases in a unified generative form:We generate all terms the first and then generate the status of each generated term.In this way,the relationship between terms can be learned more effectively from the sequence containing only terms in the first phase,and our designed knowledge-enhanced prompt in the second phase can leverage the category and status candidates of the generated term for status generation.Furthermore,our proposed special status"not mentioned"makes more terms available and en-riches the training data in the second phase,which is critical in the low-resource setting.The experiments on the Chunyu and CMDD datasets show that the proposed method achieves superior results compared to the state-of-the-art models in the full training and low-re-sourcesettings.

It remains full of challenge for extending short-wave infrared(SWIR)spectral response and weak-light detection in the context of broad spectral responses for phototransistor.In this work,a novel poly(2,5-bis(4-hexyldodecyl)-2,5-dihydro-3,6-di-2-thienyl-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole-1,4-dione-alt-thiophene)(PDPPT3-HDO):COTIC-4F organic bulk-heterojunction is prepared as active layer for bulk heterojunction phototransistors.PDPPT3-HDO serves as a hole transport material,while COTIC-4F enhances the absorption of SWIR light to 1020 nm.As a result,smooth and connected PDPPT3-HDO film is fabricated by blade coating method and exhibits high hole mobility up to 2.34 cm^(2)·V^(-1)·s^(-1) with a current on/off ratio of 4.72×10^(5) in organic thin film transistors.PDPPT3-HDO:COTIC-4F heterojunction phototransistors exhibit high responsivity of 2680 A·W^(-1) to 900 nm and 815 A·W^(-1) to 1020 nm,with fast response time(rise time~20 ms and fall time~100 ms).The photosensitivity of the heterojunction phototransistor improves as the mass ratio of non-fullerene acceptors increases,resulting in an approximately two orders of magnitude enhancement compared to the bare polymer phototransistor.Importantly,the phototransistor exhibits decent responsivity even under ultra-weak light power of 43μW·cm^(-2) to 1020 nm.This work represents a highly effective and general strategy for fabricating efficient and sensitive SWIR light photodetectors.

Role of 5-hydroxytryptamine type 3 receptors in the regulation of anxiety reactions

5-Hydroxytryptamine(5-HT)type 3 receptor(5-HT_(3)R)is the only type of ligand-gated ion channel in the 5-HT receptor family.Through the high permeability of Na+,K+,and Ca2+and activation of subsequent voltage-gated calcium channels(VGCCs),5-HT_(3)R induces a rapid increase of neuronal excitability or the release of neurotransmitters from axon terminals in the central nervous system(CNS).5-HT_(3)Rs are widely expressed in the medial prefrontal cortex(mPFC),amygdala(AMYG),hippocampus(HIP),periaqueductal gray(PAG),and other brain regions closely associated with anxiety reactions.They have a bidirectional regulatory effect on anxiety reactions by acting on different types of cells in different brain regions.5-HT_(3)Rs mediate the activation of the cholecystokinin(CCK)system in the AMYG,and theγ-aminobutyric acid(GABA)“disinhibition”mechanism in the prelimbic area of the mPFC promotes anxiety by the activation of GABAergic intermediate inhibitory neurons(IINs).In contrast,a 5-HT_(3)R-induced GABA“disinhibition”mechanism in the infralimbic area of the mPFC and the ventral HIP produces anxiolytic effects.5-HT_(2)R-mediated regulation of anxiety reactions are also activated by 5-HT_(3)R-activated 5-HT release in the HIP and PAG.This provides a theoretical basis for the treatment of anxiety disorders or the production of anxiolytic drugs by targeting 5-HT_(3)Rs.However,given the circuit specific modulation of 5-HT_(3)Rs on emotion,systemic use of 5-HT_(3)R agonism or antagonism alone seems unlikely to remedy anxiety,which deeply hinders the current clinical application of 5-HT_(3)R drugs.Therefore,the exploitation of circuit targeting methods or a combined drug strategy might be a useful developmental approach in the future.

Precisely Control Relationship between Sulfur Vacancy and H Absorption for Boosting Hydrogen Evolution Reaction

Ef fective and robust catalyst is the core of water splitting to produce hydrogen.Here, we report an anionic etching method to tailor the sulfur vacancy(VS) of NiS_(2) to further enhance the electrocatalytic performance for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER). With the VS concentration change from 2.4% to 8.5%, the H* adsorption strength on S sites changed and NiS_(2)-VS 5.9% shows the most optimized H* adsorption for HER with an ultralow onset potential(68 m V) and has long-term stability for 100 h in 1 M KOH media. In situ attenuated-total-reflection Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(ATR-FTIRS) measurements are usually used to monitor the adsorption of intermediates. The S-H* peak of the Ni S_(2)-VS 5.9% appears at a very low voltage, which is favorable for the HER in alkaline media. Density functional theory calculations also demonstrate the Ni S_(2)-VS 5.9% has the optimal |ΔG^(H*)| of 0.17 e V. This work offers a simple and promising pathway to enhance catalytic activity via precise vacancies strategy.

Developing an energy supply-chain based on renewable biomass holds great potential to build a low carbon society. High-energy-density(HED) jet fuel, featuring unique fused/strained cycloalkanes, is of great significance for volume-limited military aircrafts, as their high density and combustion heat can extend flight duration and increase the payload. Therefore, the exploration of biomass-based routes towards HED fuel has drawn much attention over the past decade. Cycloaddition reaction features rapid construction of various carbocycles in an atom-and step-economical fashion. This elegant strategy has been widely applied in the manufacture of sustainable HED fuel. Here we carefully summarize the progress achieved in this fascinating area and the review is categorized by the cycloaddition patterns including [4+2], [2+2],[4+4], and [2+1] cycloadditions. Besides, the energy densities of the as-prepared biofuels and petroleumbased fuels(conventional Jet-A and advanced JP-10) are also compared. This review will provide important insights into rational design of new HED fuel with different ring-types/sizes and inspire the chemists to turn those literature studies into practical applications in military field.

Effectivity and safety of trifocal intraocular lenses and capsular tension rings implantation for cataract patients with axial high myopia

●AIM:To assess effectivity and safety of trifocal intraocular lenses(IOLs)and capsular tension rings in treating cataract patients with axial high myopia.●METHODS:A prospective nonrandomized controlled clinical trial was conducted.Totally 98 eyes(74 patients)who underwent femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery(FLACS)with trifocal IOLs were enrolled in the study and followed up for 2y after surgery:46 eyes(33 patients)with capsular tension ring implantation in the long axial lengths(AL)group(260.05).The dysfunctional lens index and total modulation transfer function(MTF)average height were similar between the two groups.The postoperative internal coma aberrations in the axial high myopia eyes were significantly higher than that in the normal AL group(P<0.05).The total satisfaction score in the long AL group(91.32±2.76)was slightly higher than that in the normal AL group(90.36±3.47),but there was no difference(P=0.136).A statistically negative correlation was found between corrected distance visual acuity(CDVA)and dysfunctional lens index(r=-0.382,P=0.009),and between CDVA and the total MTF average height(r=-0.374,P=0.01).But there was no significant correlation between CDVA and total satisfaction score(r=0.059,P=0.696).Postoperative complications mainly presented as posterior capsular opacity(PCO),retinal detachment and cystoid macular edema.There was no difference in the incidence of fundus disease(6.5%vs 3.8%,P=0.663)or PCO(1
