Genetic dissection of ear-related traits using immortalized F2 population in maize

Ear-related traits are often selection targets for maize improvement. This study used an immortalized F(IF) population to elucidate the genetic basis of ear-related traits. Twelve ear-related traits(namely, row number(RN), kernel number per row(KNPR), ear length(EL), ear diameter(ED), ten-kernel thickness(TKT), ear weight(EW), cob diameter(CD),kernel length(KL), kernel width(KW), grain weight per ear(GW), 100-kernel weight(HKW), and grain yield per plot(GY)),were collected from the IFpopulation. The ear-related traits were comprised of 265 crosses derived from 516 individuals of the recombinant inbred lines(RILs) under two separated environments in 2017 and 2018, respectively. Quantitative trait loci(QTLs) analyses identified 165 ear traits related QTLs, which explained phenotypic variation ranging from 0.1 to 12.66%. Among the 165 QTLs, 19 underlying nine ear-related traits(CD, ED, GY, RN, TKT, HKW, KL, GW, and KNPR)were identified across multiple environments and recognized as reliable QTLs. Furthermore, 44.85% of the total QTLs showed an overdominance effect, and 12.72% showed a dominance effect. Additionally, we found 35 genomic regions exhibiting pleiotropic effects across the whole maize genome, and 17 heterotic loci(HLs) for RN, EL, ED and EW were identified. The results provide insights into genetic components of ear-related traits and enhance the understanding of the genetic basis of heterosis in maize.

The adsorptions of a series of alkali metal （AM） atoms, Li, Na, K, Rb and Cs, on a Si（001）-2 × 2 surface at 0.25 monolayer coverage have been investigated systematically by means of density functional theory calculations. The effects of the size of AM atoms on the Si（001） surface are focused in the present work by examining the most stable adsorption site, diffusion path, band structure, charge transfer, and the change of work function for different adsorbates. Our results suggest that, when the interactions among AM atoms are neglectable, these AM atoms can be divided into three classes. For Li and Na atoms, they show unique site preferences, and correspond to the strongest and weakest AM-Si interactions, respectively. In particular, the band structure calculation indicates that the nature of Li-Si interaction differs significantly from others. For the adsorptions of other AM atoms with larger size （namely, K, Rb and Cs）, the similarities in the atomic and electronic structures are observed, implying that the atom size has little influence on the adsorption behavior for these large AM atoms on the Si（001） surface.

Short-term travel flow prediction has been the core of the intelligent transport systems(ITS). An advanced method based on fuzzy C-means(FCM) and extreme learning machine(ELM) has been discussed by analyzing prediction model. First, this model takes advantages of ability to adapt to nonlinear systems and the fast speed of ELM algorithm. Second, with FCM-clustering function, this novel model can get the clusters and the membership in the same cluster, which means that the associated observation points have been chosen. Therefore, the spatial relations can be used by giving the weight to every observation points when the model trains and tests the ELM. Third, by analyzing the actual data in Haining City in 2016, the feasibility and advantages of FCM-ELM prediction model have been shown when compared with other prediction algorithms.

High-Speed Ring Shear Tests to Study the Motion and Acceleration Processes of the Yingong Landslide

In this paper, the motion and acceleration process, as well as the mechanism of a high speed and long run landslide are investigated by adopting high speed ring shear test and taking the landslide occurred at Yigong River in Bomi, Tibet on April 9, 2000 as the background. According to the motion characteristics of high-speed and long distance motion landside, the mechanism is studied under different conditions such as shear speed, consolidated drained and consolidated undrained status. Results show that high speed shearing process hinders and delays the dissipation of pore pressure, and drives pore water migrating to shear zone slowly. Both of water content and fine particle content at shear zone are obviously higher than those in other layers; and soil liquefaction occurs at shear zone in the saturated consolidated undrained ring shear tests. The effective internal friction angle of the consolidated undrained soil is much lower than that of the consolidated drained soil under ring shearing. The results also indicate that the shearing speed affecting the strength of soil to some extent. The higher the ring shearing speed is, the lower the strength of soil is. This investigation provides a preliminary interpretation of the mechanism of the motion and acceleration process of the Yigong landslide, occurred in Tibet in 2000.

Gravelly soils are made up of gravel, sand, silt and clay. They are widely used in engineering applications such as rock-fill dams with clay cores, which are the main researches at present. The strength and mechanical properties of the gravelly soils are affected by the content of coarse grain, fine particles, and their adhesive states. These Properties can be verified by laboratory unconsolidated undrained triaxial tests with grain size less than 5 mm and by large scale direct-shear tests with original grain content. Fine particles of the loose gravelly slopes are released under rainfalls, alternated the structures and mechanical properties, even affected the slope stability. There are a series of large scale direct-shear tests with different coarse grain contents to study the influence of fine particles releasing and migration, results showed the strength behavior of the gravelly soils were affected by the coarse grain content （5） and the inflection coarse grain contents. In order to study the erosion features of the gravelly soil slopes on rainfall conditions and the slopes stability alteration, we had carried out one sort of artificial rainfall local and model experiments, the runoff sediment contents were monitored during the experiments. Result showed that the shapes of the slopes surface transformed periodically, runoff sediment contents were divided into five phases according to the experiment phenomena, runoff sediment contents maintained downtrend during the rain time and the downtrend was obviouslyinterpreted by one descend belt no matter the rainfall intensity and the slope angels. Particle size analysis released the deposit on the slope surface lost almost all of the clay, most of the silt and sand after the experiments, this meant the fine particles releasing, migration and accumulation process on condition of rainfall resulted in the instability factor of the slopes even induced landslide or debris flow.

The rapid development of multimodal transportation system prompts travellers to choose multiple transportation modes, such as private vehicles or taxi, transit(subways or buses), or park-and-ride combinations for urban trips. Traffic corridor is a major scenario that supports travellers to commute from suburban residential areas to central working areas. Studying their modal choice behaviour is receiving more and more interests. On one hand, it will guide the travellers to rationally choose their most economic and beneficial mode for urban trips. On the other hand, it will help traffic operators to make more appropriate policies to enhance the share of public transit in order to alleviate the traffic congestion and produce more economic and social benefits. To analyze the travel modal choice, a generalized cost model for three typical modes is first established to evaluate each different travel alternative. Then, random utility theory(RUT) and decision field theory(DFT) are introduced to describe the decision-making process how travellers make their mode choices. Further, some important factors that may influence the modal choice behaviour are discussed as well. To test the feasibility of the proposed model, a field test in Beijing was conducted to collect the real-time data and estimate the model parameters. The improvements in the test results and analysis show new advances in the development of travel mode choice on multimodal transportation networks.

AIM： To observe the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of rabeprazole and compare serum gastrin concentrations in different CYP2C19 genotype groups. METHODS： The CYP2C19 genotype status of Chinese Han healthy volunteers was determined by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism method. Twenty H pylori-negative healthy subjects voluntary participated in the study. They were divided into the following three groups： homozygous extensive metabolizers （homEM）, heterozygous extensive metabolizers （hetEM） and poor metabolizers （PM）. After they orally received rabeprazole 20 mg once daily in the morning of d 1 and d 8, blood samples were collected at various time-points until 24 h after administration and intragastric pH values were monitored for 24 h by Digitrapper pH. Serum gastrin concentrations were measured by radioimmunoassay. Serum concentrations of rabeprazole were measured by high performance liquid chromatography. RESULTS： The mean AUC values for rabeprazole after a single and repeated doses were significantly different between the homEM and PM groups, but not between the homEM and hetEM, or the hetEM and PM groups. No significant differences in intragastric pH medians were observed among the three different genotype groups after a single dose or repeated doses. The ratio of pH medians between d 1 and d 8 ranged from 84% to 108%. The mean gastrin AUC values were also different among the three genotype groups, with a relative ratio of 1.0, 1.2 and 1.5 after a single dose and 1.0, 1.5 and 1.6 after repeated doses in the homEM, hetEM and PM groups, respectively. The gastrin AUC values among the three different genotype groups showed no significant difference either after a single dose or repeated doses. The subject who had lower intragastric acidity showed higher serum gastrin levels and concentrations of rabeprazole. CONCLUSION： In Chinese Han healthy people, the pharmacokinetics of rabeprazole are dependent on the CYP2C19 genotype

With the increasing demand for water in hydroponic systems and agricultural irrigation,viral diseases have seriously affected the yield and quality of *** removing plant viruses in water environments,virus transmission can be prevented and agricultural production and ecosystems can be *** so far,there have been few reports on the removal of plant viruses in water ***,in this study,easily recyclable biomass-based carbon nanotubes catalysts were synthesized with varying metal activities to activate peroxymonosulfate(PMS).Among them,the magnetic 0.125Fe@NCNTs-1/PMS system showed the best overall removal performance against pepper mild mottle virus,with a 5.9 log_(10)removal within 1 ***,the key reactive species in the 0.125Fe@NCNTs-1/PMS system is^(1)O_(2),which can maintain good removal effect in real water matrices(river water and tap water).Through RNA fragment analyses and label free analysis,it was found that this system could effectively cleave virus particles,destroy viral proteins and expose their *** capsid protein of pepper mild mottle virus was effectively decomposed where serine may be the main attacking sites by^(1)O_(2).Long viral RNA fragments(3349 and 1642 nt)were cut into smaller fragments(∼160 nt)and caused their *** summary,this study contributes to controlling the spread of plant viruses in real water environment,which will potentially help protect agricultural production and food safety,and improve the health and sustainability of ecosystems.

设计并合成了15个未曾见文献报道的1-(2-(4-取代)苯氧乙基)-1H-1,2,3-三氮唑衍生物,并通过NMR、IR、MS确认了它们的结构。幽门螺旋杆菌(HP)体外抑制活性测试结果表明,4个化合物对16株HP表现出一定的抑制活性。
