This article presents the results of comparative study of two PV solar modules technologies,namely monofacial and *** study main objective is to identify conditions and parameters that make it possible to obtain better energy and economic efficiency from one or other of two *** study reason lies in revival observed on bifacial module in recent years where all the major manufacturers of PV solar panels are developing them where in a few years,this technology risks being at the same price as the monofacial solar panel with better *** indicator used is energy levelized cost(LCOE)which is function technology type,energy productivity,annual investment and operation *** achieve this,a 3.685 MWc solar PV power plant was dimensioned and simulated under Matlab for a 3.5 ha site with a 2,320,740,602 FCFA budget for monofacial installation,against 1,925,188,640 FCFA for 2.73 MWc bifacial *** LCOE comparative analysis of two technologies calculated over a period of 25 years,showed that plant with bifacial panels is more beneficial if bifacial gain is greater than 9%.It has further been found that it is possible to gain up to 40%of invested cost if bifacial gain reaches 45%.Finally,a loss of about 10%of invested cost could be recorded if bifacial gain is less than 9%.

Structures erected on swelling clay soils are subjected to several stresses which are at the origin of the premature deterioration of the infrastructures. The soils being supports for the works, the improvement of their weak characteristics with cotton fibers will not only increase the bearing capacities of these soils and the resolution of the environmental problem, by eliminating the CO2 produced by the burning of the stems after harvest. The objective of this study is to contribute to the improvement of the characteristics by cotton stalk powder of the swelling clay soils used as the foundation of the infrastructures in order to guarantee their durability. Identification and mechanical parameterization tests were carried out on raw soil samples taken at 1.5 meters deep and on samples improved with cotton stalk powder at different levels (3%, 6% and 10%). The results from the physical tests reveal that the soil studied is very plastic silt. As for the mechanical tests, it appears that by adding 3% cotton stalk powder to dry density which goes from 1.435 t/m3 compared to the control sample with a dry density of 1.50 t/m3;which reflects an improvement in the compaction characteristics of the soil studied. The dry densities are 1.445 t/m3 and 1.29 t/m3 for the samples improved with 6% and 10% cotton stalk powder.

This work focuses on the development of local building materials in Benin for their efficient use in buildings. It aims to make mud bricks lightened with good mechanical, thermal and sound properties and enhance the waste polystyrene. This article is the result of experimental work on a broad field of applied sciences： building mechanics. The study is focused on BTS （blocks of stabilized earth） chosen as reference materials to which we linked polystyrene. The percentage of polystyrene varies from 0% to 100% starting from a constant volume of each reference material. The results showed that the increase in polystyrene percentage lowers mechanical properties. These results also showed that the gradual addition of polystyrene to the laterite-cement mixture has a significant influence on the density and mechanical resistances of the final composite material.

Rhabdomyosarcoma in Dakar: An Update on Pronostics Factors

Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) belongs to the soft tissue sarcomas that have striated muscle differentiation. It is most common in young children under 5 years of age and adolescents. The definite diagnosis of rhabdomyosarcoma is based on histology and the positivity of striated muscle markers in immunohistochemistry. Our objective was to describe the prognostic characteristics of RMS diagnosed in Dakar. MATERIAL AND METHODS: This was a retrospective and descriptive study spread over nine (09) years from 1 January 2011 to 31 December 2019. It was conducted from the histological report archives of the anatomy and pathology laboratories of Dakar. Paraffin blocks were reread and immunohistochemically studied by manual method. Antidesmin and antimyogenin antibodies were used. RESULTS: We collected 44 patients with rhabdomyosarcoma out of 228 cases of soft tissue cancers, i.e. 19.29% of all malignant soft tissue tumours. The mean age of the patients was 25.41 ± 23.95 (standard deviation) years with a median age of 16 years and extremes of 6 months and 81 years. Patients were less than or equal to 17 years of age in 61.4% of cases. A clear male predominance was observed with 29 men (65.9%) against 15 women (34.1%). Rhabdomyosarcomas were located in the limbs in 34.1% of cases, in the head and neck in 29.5% of cases and in the genitourinary tract in 25% of cases. The average tumour size was 7.45 cm ± 4.64 (standard deviation) with a minimum of 2 cm and a maximum of 17 cm. It was greater than or equal to 5 cm in 15 patients (68.2%). Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS) was the most frequent histological type with 34 cases (77.3%), followed by pleomorphic rhabdomyosarcoma 7 cases (15.9%) and alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma 3 cases (6.8%). The histological subtypes of ERMS consisted of conventional ERMS (91.18%);botryoid RMS (5.88%) and spindle cell RMS (2.94%). Epidermal Inclusion Cyst: A Rare Benign Breast Lesion

Epidermal inclusion cyst in the breast is an uncommon condition. It may be congenital, originating from hair follicles or occurring after trauma (breast reduction or breast cytology puncture) or consists of squamous metaplasia of the regular columnar epithelium within an ectatic ductus galactophorus. We report the case of a 22-year-old woman, with two pregnancies and with no particular pathological history, who presented with a 3 cm nodule of the right breast at the union of the upper quadrants, firm, mobile and painless. The skin, areola and nipple were unaffected. The axillary areas and the contralateral breast were unremarkable. The breast ultrasound showed a heterogeneous and well circumscribed hypoechoic mass classified as ACR3. Macroscopic examination revealed a unilocular cyst with a discretely thickened wall, abundant yellowish contents and measuring 2 cm on a long axis. Histologically, it was a cystic cavity whose wall was lined with a pseudo stratified keratinized squamous epithelium with a granular layer and whose lumen contained keratin lamellae. This cyst is surrounded by a more or less fibrous pallial tissue containing regular, sometimes dilated or even cystic milk ducts. The diagnosis of epidermal inclusion cyst of the breast on a background of fibrocystic mastopathy was thus concluded. The importance of this benign lesion lies in the differentiation between other non-neoplastic and neoplastic breast lesions.

Relationship between Circulating Plasma Galectin-3 Levels and T-Cell Activation during Cervical Cancer Chemotherapy

Objective: Despite the existence of several therapeutic strategies, the management of cervical cancer remains challenging. Our region has very little data on the interaction between the immune system and the clinical response to chemotherapy. This work examines plasma levels of galectin-3 (Gal-3) and percentages of activated T cells in patients with cervical cancer treated with chemotherapy and investigates if there is a relationship between the rates of these two elements. Methods: We compared data from 37 patients with cervical cancer undergoing chemotherapy and 42 controls with normal cervical cytology. Plasma Gal-3 concentrations were assessed by ELISA and expression of activation markers by T cells (CD69 and HLA-DR) was assessed by flow cytometry at three different time points during chemotherapy. Results: Our results showed that patients had a significantly higher concentration of Gal-3 compared to controls (4.025 vs. 1.340, p 0.001), similarly, they had a significantly high percentage of activated lymphocytes (2.610 vs. 0.731;p 0.0001). According to the response to treatment, patients with no response to treatment had a lower concentration of circulating Gal-3 but had approximately the same percentage of activated CD4 and CD8 lymphocytes as patients with a partial or total response. In addition, we found a positive correlation between the Gal-3 level and CD4 T cells expressing the activation marker CD69 (p 0.05;rho = 0.44). Conclusion: In conclusion, our results show that there would be a relationship between circulating galectin-3 and the percentage of peripheral CD4+CD69+ cells in cervical cancer.
