Numerical study on the effective thermal conductivity and thermal tortuosity of porous media with different morphologies

Effective thermal conductivity and thermal tortuosity are crucial parameters for evaluating the effectiveness of heat conduction within porous *** direct pore-scale numerical simulation method is applied to investigate the heat conduction processes inside porous structures with different *** thermal conduction performances of idealized porous structures are directly compared with real foams across a wide range of *** foam structures are reconstructed using X-ray computed tomography and image processing techniques,while Kelvin and Weaire-Phelan structures are generated through periodic unit cell *** detailed temperature fields inside the porous structures are determined by solving the heat conduction equation at the pore *** results present that the equivalent thermal conductivity of Kelvin and Weaire-Phelan structures is similar to and greater than that of the real foam structure with the same strut *** thermal tortuosity of real foam structure is relatively larger and the heat conduction path becomes straighter by adopting the anisotropic *** thermal tortuosity of the fluid channels for Kelvin,Weaire-Phelan,and real foam structures is close to *** thermal conductivity of porous structures with heat transfer fluid increases as the thermal conductivity ratio of fluid to solid becomes larger.A small porosity of porous media leads to a larger equivalent thermal conductivity due to the dominant contribution of porous skeleton in the heat conduction *** derived from parallel and series models,as well as the Maxwell-Eucken models,provide decent predictions of effective thermal conductivity,with an average error of less than 8%in the entire range of thermal conductivity ratio.

Hydrogen is garnering growing attention as a green energy source with zero carbon ***,most hydrogen production technologies still rely on the consumption of fossil fuels and are therefore *** has driven the search for more environmentally friendly methods of hydrogen *** this work,we present an innovative approach to enhance hydrogen generation via electrostatic interaction in the Escherichia coli and defective titanium dioxide(TiO_(2−x))*** method involves narrowing the forbidden bandwidth of TiO2 while introducing defect bands into its conduction band to facilitate visible light absorption and efficient charge *** biohybrid system,consisting of *** and TiO_(2−x),demonstrates a remarkable capability to produce 1.25 mmol of hydrogen within a 3-h timeframe under visible light *** accomplishment signifies a 3.31-fold rise in hydrogen production in comparison to ***,signifying a substantial enhancement in hydrogen production ***,we delve into the alterations in biological metabolites associated with hydrogen production and the changes in electron transfer in different biohybrid *** provides valuable insights into the understanding of the intrinsic mechanisms that drive the *** work introduces a novel and promising avenue for achieving this exciting goal.

pH Induced Self-assembly of AIE Fluorescent Probe for Tumor Imaging

This work reported an AIE fluorescent probe for tumor imaging based on the p H induced self-assembly strategy. The fluorescent probe was composed of an acid-responsive soluble copolymer PEG-b-PAMA-DMMA with a maleic acid amide group and an anionic soluble aggregation-induced emission fluorogen(AIEgen) TPE-2SO_(3)^(-). The polymer could be transformed into a protonated amine-containing polymer after the hydrolysis of maleic acid amide in acidic tumor microenvironment, which would be further self-assembled with TPE-2SO_(3)^(-)to form aggregated nanoparticles. The transition of TPE-2SO_(3)^(-)from dispersed state to aggregated state led to an obvious increase in fluorescence intensity due to its AIE characteristics.

Achievement of a‘clinical cure’in chronic hepatitis B(CHB)implies sustained virological suppression and immunological control over the infection,which is the ideal treatment goal according to domestic and international CHB management *** practice has shown encouraging results for specific patient cohorts using tailored treatment *** regimens incorporate either nucleos(t)ide analogs,immunomodulatory agents such as pegylated interferonα,or a strategic combination of both,sequentially or concurrently *** these advancements in the clinical handling of hepatitis B,achieving a clinical cure remains elusive for a considerable subset of patients due to the number of challenges that preclude the realization of optimal treatment *** include,but are not limited to,the emergence of antiviral resistance,incomplete immune recovery,and the persistence of covalently closed circular ***,the variance in response to interferon therapy and the lack of definitive biomarkers for treatment cessation also contribute to the complexity of achieving a clinical *** article briefly overviews the current research progress and existing issues in pursuing a clinical cure for hepatitis B.

Fabricating functionally graded Fe-Cr-Co permanent magnetic alloys via laser powder bed fusion

Laser powder bed fusion(LPBF)in-situ alloying technology offers the possibility to construct gradient materials with varied structures and *** graded Fe-Cr-Co permanent magnetic alloys were fabricated by LPBF and in-situ alloying mixed powders of Fe,Cr,and Co *** effects of different Fe,Cr and Co contents on the microstructure,magnetic properties and hardness of Fe-Cr-Co alloys prepared by LPBF were *** as-built Fe-Cr-Co alloys present a single body-centered-cubic phase and have a homogeneous distribution of *** mechanical properties and magnetic properties of the compositionally graded sample show a gradient *** the increase in Cr content,the Vickers hardness of the sample increases,and the saturation magnetization of the sample *** optimal magnetic properties in an isotropic state are given as coercivity HcB=21.65 kA/m,remanence Br=0.70 T and energy product(BH)_(max)=5.35 kJ/m^(3),which are comparable to or higher than the reported magnetic properties in an isotropic state prepared by traditional powder *** in-situ alloying technology has the potential to further explore Fe-Cr-Co magnetic materials,such as those consisting of multiple or more constituent elements,and to maximize the compositional flexibility of magnetic materials.

Electrolyte effect on electrochemical behaviors of manganese fluoride material for aqueous asymmetric and symmetric supercapacitors

Exploring wide voltage window materials is not only an available measure to enhance the energy density of hybrid supercapacitor(HSCs),but also avoids the dynamic mismatch caused by different energy storage mechanisms of two electrodes in assembled symmetrical ***,there are few reports about the wide potential window materials except Bi_(2)O_(3)and VO_(2).Therefore,the MnF_(2)synthesized by solvothermal reaction was served as the electrode for *** MnF_(2)exhibited electrochemical activity in alkaline solution in three-electrode system,especially with a wide potential window from-0.8 to+0.5 V in 2 mol·L^(-1)***,the assembled MnF_(2)//MnF_(2)symmetrical HSC had a potential window of 1.5 V,and it exhibited outstanding long-cycle ***,when MnF_(2)was taken as the negative and positive respectively,the potential windows of asymmetric devices CoMoO_(4)//MnF_(2)and MnF_(2)//Activated Carbon(AC)could reach 1.3 and 1.45 V,respectively,showing excellent cycle *** work shows that MnF_(2)material has great research value in HSC,and provides a new research direction for developing high-performance devices.

Silica aerogel composites have promising applications in high-temperature heat storage ***,the impact of high temperatures and moisture on their insulation performance remains *** reveal the influences of high temperature and moisture absorption property on the heat transfer of silica aerogel composites,an experimental and numerical study was conducted to explore the micromorphology,thermophysical parameters,moisture absorption characteristics,and temperature *** service temperature limit of the silica aerogel composite has been *** have conducted for the thermal conductivity,specific heat capacity,thermal diffusivity,specific surface area,density,porosity,and pore size distribution of the heated silica aerogel composite(at temperatures of 600,800,1,000,1,100 and 1,200℃).The moisture absorption characteristic curve at 20℃ has been *** testing of silica aerogel composites under varying heating temperatures and moisture content has been ***,a numerical method has been developed to calculate the temperature curve of moist silica aerogel *** insulation performance of silica aerogel composite with varying moisture contents depends on the game between thermal conductivity and latent *** with the negative effect of the moisture content on insulation performance,the positive influence of moisture evaporation and heat absorption is dominant in situations involving temperatures higher than the phase transition temperature.

Electrocatalytic synthesis of ammonia as an environment-friendly and sustainable development method has received widespread attention in recent ***-dimensional(2D)materials are a promising catalyst for ammonia synthesis due to their large surface *** this work,we have constructed a series of 2D metal borides(MBenes)with transition metal(TM)defects(TMd-MBenes)and comprehensively calculated the reactivity of electrocatalytic synthesis of ammonia-based on density functional *** results have demonstrated that the TMd-MBenes can effectively activate nitrogen oxide(NO)and nitrogen(N2)molecules *** interesting,the co-chemisorption of O atoms,dissociated from NO,can facilitate the spilled of the inert N2 molecules into single N atoms,which can further hydrogenate into ammonia easily with an ultralow limiting potential of 0.59 V on *** research has not only provided clues for catalyst design for experimental study but also paved the way for the industrial application of electrocatalytic ammonia synthesis.

GAMYB transcription factor LoMYB65 from lily plays a vital role in pollen development

Lily(Lilium spp.)is an important horticultural crop,but its use is limited due to serious pollen contamination *** are many studies on pollen development in model plants,but few on flower crops such as ***(GA)is a large class of hormones and plays an important role in plant vegetative growth and reproductive *** is a group of the R2R3-MYB family upregulated by gibberellin,and plays an important role in anther ***,we isolated a novel GAMYB,named LoMYB65,from lily,which was closely related to the AtMYB65 and AtMYB33 in *** quantitative PCR results showed that LoMYB65 was mainly expressed in lily ***65 could be activated by 288μmol·L^(-1)GA3treatment and the LoMYB65 protein was located in the nucleus and cytoplasm,and had transactivation in yeast and tobacco leaf *** conserved motif within 226 amino acids of the C-terminal of LoMYB65 contributed to its *** of LoMYB65 caused dwarf phenotype,unnormal tapetum development,less seeds of siliques in transgenic Arabidopsis plants,the transgenic plants showed partly male ***,silencing of LoMYB65 with VIGS(Virus Induced Gene Silencing)in lily anthers caused unnormal pollen development and reduced the pollen *** of LoMYB65 in Arabidopsis and silencing of LoMYB65 in lily resulted in decreased pollen counts,so we speculate that LoMYB65 may be ***,these findings suggest that LoMYB65 may play an important role in anther development and pollen formation in ***65 may provide a useful candidate gene for pollenless breeding of lily.

Revealing effect of Al content on oxidation of novel Co-Cr-Nb-W carbide-strengthened superalloy

The high-temperature oxidation behavior of novel Co-Cr-Nb-W carbide-strengthened wear-resistance alloys with different Al contents(1wt%,2wt%and 3wt%)at 950,1000 and 1050℃was thoroughly investigated by scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and field emission electron probe *** porous property of NbC in-situ oxidation products(Nb_(2)O_(5),Co Nb_(2)O_(6)and Co_(4)Nb_(2)O_(9))induces a multi-layered oxide scale with micropores and ***-Cr-Nb-W alloy with 1 wt%Al undergoes catastrophic oxidation and spalling above 1000℃.The outward transportation of Cr and Co is effectively restrained by a continuous Al_(2)O_(3)scale formed around NbC in-situ oxidation region when Al content reaches 3 wt%.The β-Co Al in Co-Cr-Nb-W alloy with 3 wt%Al has an oxidation priority over eutectic carbides and the alloy matrix which are both enriched with Cr,thereby preventing the formation of Cr-depletion area and improving the self-healing ability of the oxide film.A slight change in Al content has a remarkable influence on the cooperative effect of Al and Cr and multiplies the antioxidant capacity of Co-Cr-Nb-W alloy above 1000℃.
