WTe2..as attracted a great deal of attention because it exhibits extremely large and non-saturating magnetore- sistance. The underlying origin of such a giant magnetoresistance is still under debate. utilizing laser-based angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy with high energy and momentum resolutions, we reveal the complete electronic structure of WTe2..This makes it possible to determine accurately the electron and hole concentrations and their temperature dependence. We find that, with increasing the temperature, the overall electron concen- tration increases while the total hole concentration decreases. It indicates that the electron-hole compensation, if it exists, can only occur in a narrow temperature range,and in most of the temperature range there is an electron-hole imbalance. Our results are not consistent with the perfect electron-hole compensation picture that is commonly considered to be the cause of the unusual magnetoresistance in WTe2..We identify a fiat band near the Brillouin zone center that is close to the Fermi level and exhibits a pronounced temperature dependence. Such a fiat band can play an important role in dictating the transport properties of WTe2..Our results provide new insight on understanding the origin of the unusual magnetoresistance in WTe2.

近年来,激光剥蚀技术与单接收或多接收电感耦合等离子体质谱法联用(LA-(MC)-ICP-MS)得到了广泛应用,实现了由激光剥蚀系统对固体岩矿样品微区采样后产生的气溶胶输送至电感耦合等离子体质谱的同位素分析,具有原位、实时、快速的分析优势及高空间分辨率、高灵敏度、多元素及其同位素比值同时测定的优点。本文介绍了本实验室近年来开展和建立的基于LA-(MC)-ICP-MS的一系列矿物微区原位同位素分析方法,主要有含硼矿物(如电气石、白云母)的硼同位素组成、碳酸盐矿物的碳同位素组成、硫化物和硫酸盐矿物的硫同位素组成、含锶矿物(如磷灰石)的锶同位素组成、锆石的铪同位素组成,以及锡石、黑钨矿、独居石、榍石和石榴子石等矿物的u-Pb定年分析方法。

Prognosis of traumatic spinal cord injury in children:Follow-up of 86 patients

Purpose:The long-term situation of children with spinal cord injury(SCI)was investigated,and suggestions for helping them better return to the society were ***:SCI patients less than 18 years old hospitalized in Beijing Boai Hospital from January 2..1 to December 2..0 were retrospectively *** including motor function,complications,characteristic changes,self-care abilities,school attendance and social participation were collected by telephone interview and electronic *** the answers were statistically ***:A total of 86 cases were enrolled,77 girls and 9 boys,with a median injury age of 6 years and 2..** follow-up time was 3-130 *** main cause of trauma in these children was sport injury(66.3%),the thoracic spinal cord was involved the most(91.9%),and complete SCIs accounted for the majority(76.7%).In terms of complications,children with complete SCIs were more likely to have urinary incontinence,constipation and characteristic changes(phereas the incomplete SCIs often have spasticity(phe daily living abilities,children with incomplete lumbar SCIs were more capable to accomplish personal hygiene,transfer,and bathing independently than those with complete injuries,or cervical/thoracic SCIs,respectively(phe youngers(pheelchair users accounted for 84.9%and more than half of them were able to propel wheelchair independently,and those who move passively in wheelchairs were mostly introverted kids(puries were able to walk ***(79.1%)children continued to attending school,and 41.9%participated in interest ***,67.4%of the children spent less time playing with their peers than before the ***:SCIs impair physical structures and function of children,affect their independence in daily

Clinical experience of defect reconstruction after total glossectomy and total laryngectomy with pedicled pectoralis major myocutaneons flap

Purpose: To summarize the clinical experience of large defect reconstruction after total glossectomy and total laryngectomy with pedicled pectoralis major myocutaneous flap in the head and neck region。Methods: From January, 1986 to January, 2..6, 35 patients with advanced carcinoma were reviewed retrospectively, who received immediate defect reconstruction with pedicled pectoralis major myocutaneous flap after extended resection of advanced carcinoma including total glossectomy and total laryngectomy in the head and neck region。Clinical data was obtained from the patients' charts, including age, sex, site of tumor, pathological diagnosis, TNM classification, surgical method, and postoperative course。All the patients were followed up routinely。The survival analysis was performed with Kaplan-Meier method, the prognostic analysis of survival was performed with univariate and multivariate Cox regression models。Results: Among the 35 patients, there were 2..males and 9 females, the age ranged from 2..to 70 years (mean 51 years)。After immediate defect reconstruction with pedicled pectoralis major myocutaneous flap, all flaps survived without total flap necrosis, partial infection and necrosis was found in only 7 patients with second wound healing。The 3-year and 5-year survival rates were 38.7% and 2..1%, respectively。Tumor recurrence was found the only independent factor on the survival rate and prognosis。Conclusions: The pedicled pectoralis major myocutaneous flap is a useful flap for large defect reconstruction after extended resection of advanced carcinoma including total glossectomy and total laryngectomy in the head and neck region。

Type 1 diabetes mellitus is heterogeneous in many facets. The patients suffered from type 1 diabetes present several levels of islet function as well as variable number and type of islet-specific autoantibodies. This study was to investigate prevalence and heterogeneity of the islet autoantibodies and clinical phenotypes of type 1 diabetes mellitus; and also discussed the process of islet failure and its risk factors in Chinese type 1 diabetic patients. A total of 1,2.. type 1 diabetic patients were enrolled in this study. Demographic information was collected. Laboratory tests including mixed-meal tolerance test, human leukocyte antigen alleles, hemoglobin A1 c, lipids, thyroid function and islet autoantibodies were conducted. The frequency of islet-specific autoantibody in newly diagnosed T1 DM patients(duration shorter than half year) was 73% in East china. According to binary logistic regressions, autoantibody positivity, longer duration and lower Body Mass Index were the risk factors of islet failure. As the disease developed, autoantibodies against glutamic acid decarboxylase declined as well as the other two autoantibodies against zinc transporter 8 and islet antigen 2..The decrease of autoantibodies was positively correlated with aggressive beta cell destruction. Autoantibodies can facilitate the identification of classic T1 DM from other subtypes and predict the progression of islet failure. As there were obvious heterogeneity in autoantibodies and clinical manifestation in different phenotypes of the disease, we should take more factors into consideration when identifying type 1 diabetes mellitus.

Objectives: To explore life satisfaction and its relationship to filial piety, nutrition status, chronic disease, Activity of Daily Living(ADL), financial resources and other factors among rural older adults(60+) in Anhui province, china. Design and Methods: A sample of 5652..lder adults was selected from a randomly selected cross-sectional investigation using an interviewer-administered standardized questionnaire with face-to- face interviews. Results: The mean age was 69.2..SD 7.12.. The average Life satisfaction index A(LSIA) score was 10.42..D 3.37) in the total sample. The findings presented filial piety, recreational activities, sleep, ADL and financial resources(economic income, economic dominance) were significantly associated with life satisfaction in the whole sample of rural older adults. Conclusions: Life satisfaction among older adults was strongly influenced by filial piety, recreational activities, sleep, ADL and financial resources.

Role of estrogen receptor β selective agonist in ameliorating portal hypertension in rats with CCl4-induced liver cirrhosis

AIM: To investigate the role of diarylpropionitrile(DPN), a selective agonist of estrogen receptor β(ERβ), in liver cirrhosis with portal hypertension(PHT) and isolated hepatic stellate cells(HSCs).METHODS: Female Sprague-Dawley rats were ovariectomized(OVX), and liver cirrhosis with PHT was induced by CCl4 injection. DPN and PHTPP, the selective ERβ agonist and antagonist, were used as drug interventions. Liver fibrosis was assessed by hematoxylin and eosin(he) and Masson's trichrome staining and by analyzing smooth muscle actin expression. hemodynamic parameters were determined in vivo using colored microspheres technique. Protein expression and phosphorylation were determined by immunohistochemical staining and Western blot analysis. Messenger RNA levels were analyzed by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(q RT-PCR). Collagengel contraction assay was performed using gel lattices containing HSCs treated with DPN, PHTPP, or Y-2..32..rior to ET-1 addition. RESuLTS: Treatment with DPN in vivo greatly lowered portal pressure and improved hemodynamic parameters without affecting mean arterial pressure, which was associated with the attenuation of liver fibrosis and intrahepatic vascular resistance(IHVR). In CCl4-treated rat livers, DPN significantly decreased the expression of Rho A and ROCK Ⅱ, and even suppressed ROCK Ⅱ activity. Moreover, DPN remarkedly increased the levels of endothelial nitric oxide synthase(e NOS) and phosphorylated e NOS, and promoted the activities of protein kinase G(PKG), which is an NO effector in the liver. Furthermore, DPN reduced the contractility of activated HSCs in the 3-dimensional stress-relaxed collagen lattices, and decreased the ROCK Ⅱ activity in activated HSCs. Finally, in vivo /in vitro experiments demonstrated that MLC activity was inhibited by ***: For OVX rats with liver cirrhosis, DPN suppressed liver Rho A/ROCK signal, facilitated NO/PKG pathways, and decreased IHVR, giving rise to reduced portal pre
