A heterotrophic nitrification-aerobic denitrification bacterium Halomonas venusta TJPU05 suitable for nitrogen removal from high-salinity wastewater

A novel salt-tolerant heterotrophic nitrification and aerobic denitrification(HN-AD)bacterium was isolated and identified as Halomonas venusta TJPU05(*** TJPU05).The nitrogen removal performance of *** TJPU05 in simulated water(SW)with sole or mixed nitrogen sources and in actual wastewater(AW)with high concentration of salt and nitrogen was *** results showed that 86.12%of NH_(4)^(+)-N,95.68%of NO_(3)^(-)-N,100%of NO_(2)^(-)-N and 84.57%of total nitrogen(TN)could be removed from SW with sole nitrogen sources within 24 h at the *** TJPU05 could maximally remove 84.06%of NH_(4)^(+)-N,92.33%of NO_(3)^(-)-N,92.9%of NO_(2)^(-)-N and 77.73%of TN from SW with mixed nitrogen source when the salinity was above 8%.The application of *** TJPU05 in treating AW with high salt and high ammonia nitrogen led to removal efficiencies of 50.96%,47.28%and 43.19%for NH_(4)^(+)-N,NO_(3)^(-)-N and TN respectively without any ***,the activities of nitrogen removal–related enzymes of the strain were also *** successful detection of high level activities of ammonia oxygenase(AMO),hydroxylamine oxidase(HAO),nitrate reductase(NAR)and nitrite reductase(NIR)enzymes under high salinity condition further proved the HN-AD and salt-tolerance capacity of *** *** results demonstrated that the *** TJPU05 has great potential in treating high-salinity nitrogenous wastewater.

"New"electro-optical(EO)crystals are hard to find,"old"EO crystals are scarce and each has its own problems,and the demand for high-performance EO crystals by higher power,higher repetition rate,and narrower pulse width laser is realistic and *** EO performance of KTP was recognized as soon as it was discovered,but after more than 40 years of development,the reports,and products of EO devices based on KTP are less than those of other EO crystals,even though KTP is now almost the cheapest nonlinear optical crystal *** this paper,based on our understanding of the crystal structure of predecessors and ourselves,especially the understanding and practice of quasi-one-dimensional ionic conduction mechanism,we think that crystal growth is the most important reason that affects the controllability of crystal *** a series of science and technology,we realize the growth of large-size crystals with high-optical uniformity,then reduce the absorption of KTP to a very low level,and grow crystals with resistance to electric damage and laser *** this basis,reducing the conductivity and improving the uniformity of optical,electrical,piezoelectric,and ferroelectric properties are *** extinction ratio,piezoelectric ringing effect,and thermal influence of the EO switch based on KTP crystal are tested,and some publicly available progress of using KTP EO devices in high-repetition rate laser is ***,we are looking forward to the development of KTP EO crystal for the laser system to EO generator for integrated optics.

Personalizing Independent Learning:An Applied Study on Military English Course Based on the Flipped Classroom

The flipped classroom is currently a buzzword in higher education around the world. This method is more student-centered and learning-centered than traditional teaching;it personalizes students’ learning and facilitates their understanding, especially when they do autonomous learning with micro classes during their off-class time. This paper provides the findings and conclusions of a case study about flipped classroom practice of a military English course,an ESP course. The study shows the students prefer blended learning to fully online learning or the traditional approach and they are more engaged in their independent learning period. Moreover, it reports project-based learning and problem-based learning can facilitate students’ autonomous learning and realize pedagogical purposes. It is argued that the flipped classroom approach encourages ESP classroom learning, as well as ESP independent learning.

Haloxylon ammodendron （C. A. Mey.） is one of the economically and ecologically important desert trees used for sand fixation. The ovary of H. ammodendron is found not to swell after flowering in spring until at the end of August or early September in western China. However, what happens for ovary at anatomic level in that period and which crucial ecological factor regulates the phenomenon of H. ammodendron have not been fully understood. To characterize the phenomenon and explore the crucial environmental regulating factors, we carried out the morphological and anatomic observations at the different development stages of the fruits and three single-factor experiments （low air temperature, sufficient soil moisture, and short day length）. Our results showed that under the natural conditions, the ovary of H. ammodendron after flowering developed slowly and the morphological changes of fruits were not significant for the period from May to August and after late August or early September; and then the ovary developed rapidly and matured in October. Cell division in embryo was observed to start approximately 25 days after flowering （DAF） and just developed to globular embryo stage at mid-August. Photoperiod was identified as the pivotal environmental factor regulating the fruit development of H. ammodendron. Moreover, the threshold value of day length for the fruit development was 14.0 h. A long day （〉14.0 h） treatment began from 5 DAF could delay fruit development of H. ammodendron while a short day （〈14.0 h） treatment could accelerate it. Moreover, a further longer day treatment （〉15.0 h） could also delay fruit development even when they had developed for a long time （110 DAF）. The present study indicated that H. ammodendron adopted a reproductive strategy of delayed fruit development and this strategy helps it survive and obtain offspring in harsh desert habitats.

Vesignieite, Cu_3Ba(VO_4)_2(OH)_2, crystallizes in space group C_2 / m with a°=1.0270(2), b°=0.5911(1),c°=0.7711(2)nm and β=116.42(3)°. The intensity data were collected with the RIGAKU RASA-IISsingle-crystal four-circle diffractometer. The structure was determined by Patterson and Fourier methods andrefined by the least-square technique to a final R index of 0.051 for 614 independent diffraction points with|F? |>3σ|F?|. The crystal structure analysis shows that vesignieite has a layer structure parallel to (001). The powder diffraction lines were reindexed.

目的 :观察脉君安片治疗原发性高血压病的疗效。方法 :治疗组 (48例 ,男 2 5例 ,女 2 3例 ,年龄 6 1± 9岁 )应用脉君安口服 ,每次 4片 ,tid ;对照组 (30例 ,男 2 3例 ,女 7例 ,年龄 6 1± 8岁 )应用苯那普利 10mg口服 ,qd。疗程均为 13周。结果 :两组治疗高血压总有效率分别为 92 %和 93% ,组间比较 ,差异无显著性 (P >0 .0 5 )。治疗后两组的血压、心率、血糖、胆固醇均明显降低 (P均 <0 .0 1) ,两组均对心电图有明显改善。两组不良反应发生率分别为 14%和 2 3% ,但均较轻微。结论

Bacterial blight(BB)is a globally devastating rice disease caused by Xanthomonas oryzae ***(Xoo).The use of disease resistance(R)genes in rice breeding is an effective and economical strategy for the control of this ***,a majority of R genes lack durable resistance for long-term use under global warming ***,we report the isolation of a novel executor R gene,Xa7,that confers extremely durable,broad-spectrum,and heat-tolerant resistance to *** expression of Xa7 was induced by incompatible Xoo strains that secreted the transcription activator-like effector(TALE)AvrXa7 or PthXo3,which recognized effector binding elements(EBEs)in the Xa7 ***,Xa7 induction was faster and stronger under high *** of Xa7 or co-transformation of Xa7 with avrXa7 triggered a hypersensitive response in *** expression of Xa7 activated a defense response in the absence of Xoo but inhibited the growth of transgenic rice *** addition,analysis of over 3000 rice varieties showed that the Xa7 locuswas found primarily in the indica and aus subgroups.A variation consisting of an 11-bp insertion and a base substitution(G to T)was found in EBEAvrXa7 in the tested varieties,resulting in a loss of Xa7 BB *** a decade of effort,we have identified an important BB resistance gene and characterized its distinctive interaction with Xoo strains;these findings will greatly facilitate research on the molecular mechanism of Xa7-mediated resistance and promote the use of this valuable gene in breeding.

设计并实验实现了利用单块硅酸铋(Bi12SiO20,BSO)晶体同时测量交流电压和电流的传感方案,其光学传感单元仅由起偏器、BSO晶体和检偏器组成。BSO晶体兼有Pockels电光效应和Faraday磁光效应,在起偏器和检偏器的主透光方向互相平行或互相垂直的情况下,输出光信号中同时包含被测电压和电流传感信号,其中电压传感信号为被测电压的倍频信号,而电流传感信号则与被测电流同频率,因而可以利用电子滤波器从光电检测信号中分离出电压与电流传感信号,从而实现电压和电流的同时测量。利用一块尺寸为6.0×4.0×2.9mm3的BSO晶体,实验实现了6A、200V范围内工频电流与电压的同时测量。

为考察3~5岁幼儿“权力”概念的大小、垂直空间和重量多重隐喻的认知发展进程,研究采用了将权力人物和无权力人物图片放置大圆形或小圆形、垂直空间的上方框或下方框和不平衡跷跷板重端或轻端的图片迫选任务。通过3个实验及综合分析发现:3岁幼儿尚不具备权力隐喻理解能力;4岁是幼儿权力隐喻理解能力的重要发展时期,具备正极权力概念的隐喻理解能力,建立起有权力为“大、高、重”的多重隐喻联结;5岁幼儿的权力隐喻理解能力进一步增强,已具备较完整的多重隐喻理解能力,建立起有权力为“大、高、重”、无权力为“小、下、轻”的多重隐喻联结。3~5岁幼儿“权力”概念的大小、垂直空间和重量多重隐喻理解能力同步发展,不受隐喻靶域习得时间早晚的影响。系列研究表明,学龄前幼儿的权力隐喻理解能力发展趋势符合隐喻一致性理论,隐喻表征的产生并非“有或无”的模式,而是“渐进”呈现发展。
