This article focuses on the application of coupling both river dynamic and river diffusive modeling techniques that can be used with distributed water balance model. In an upstream watershed, both overland and river diffusive flows are routed by diffusive wave approximation of the free surface flow equations. In river downstream reaches, the river dynamic flow is routed by one-dimensional dynamic wave equations （full dynamic St. Venant equations with lateral flow）. The developed model is applied in a part of Arakawa River basin, Kanto area, Japan. The geographic data of river cross sections could be accurately represented by an 11-point cross-section approximation. The effects of both the grid size and lateral flow on the simulated results of the river dynamic flow model were studied. The grid size should be greater than the average width of the river cross-sections. The lateral flow from small drainage systems has significant effects on the simulated results using the river dynamic flow model. The simulated results show good and acceptable agreements with the observed flow discharges and water depths. Both the river discharge and water depth at any location of river network of compound channels with one/two complex floodplains could be correctly estimated.

Lao.7Sr0.3Mnl_xNixO3 （x = 0, 0.025, 0.050 and 0.075） ceramics were prepared by the conventional solid-state reaction method. The partial substitution of Mn by Ni2＋ leads to a decrease in cell volume as well as a structural transition from the rhombohedral to the orthorhombic structure. Ni2＋ doping increases the electrical resistivity, decreases the semiconductor-metal transition temperature （Tms） and relatively enhances the room temperature magnetoresistance （MR）, especially in x = 0.025 and around Tins. With respect to conduction mechanism, the small polaron hopping （SPH） and the variable range hopping （VRH） models were used to ex- amine conduction in the semiconducting region.

When using MQL as a cooling technique, many parameters have to be adjusted. The Taguchi method was used in this study to investigate the cutting characteristics of face milling of titanium alloys using PVD-coated inserts. To find the optimal volume removed and surface roughness, an orthogonal array, the signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio and the analysis of variance (ANOVA) were employed. The optimum cutting parameters was obtained. Throughout this study, it was found that the feed rate is the most influencing cutting parameter in the face milling of titanium alloys.

Noticing in recent years that the world is running out of mineral resources, and the price of engineering materials will continually rise in the future, the percentage of the cost of manufactured part that is due to the cost of materials is also rising. This paper proposed a variant CAPP system for rotational parts based on the concept of group technology, this system accepts part features characteristics code number as an input and provides operation details for manufacturing route with the suitable primary processes required to produce the blank work piece as an output.

Multi-objective Optimization in the Milling of Titanium Alloys Using the MQL Technique

The process for face milling of (α+β) titanium alloy while using minimum quantity librication (MQL) as the cooling technique was optimized by using of the Taguchi method to improve *** cutting speed, feed rate, and depth of cut were optimized with consideration of multiple performance characteristics including tool life, volume removed and surface roughness. The experimental results show that the multiple performance characteristics can be simultaneously improved through this approach, and the feed rate is the most influential cutting parameter in the face milling of titanium alloys.
