Growth, Proximate Composition and Pigment Production of Tetraselmis chuii Cultured with Aquaculture Wastewater

Microalgae are cultured commercially as healthy food, cosmetic products, food preservatives, and a source of valuable compounds. However, the high cost of commercial culture medium is one of the challenges to microalgal production. Therefore, it is essential to find an alternative cost-effective culture medium. Aquaculture wastewater is considered as a highly potential candidate due to its high nutrient content and large quantity generated from the rapid growth of aquaculture sector. In this study, Tetraselmis chuii cultured in different media with or without wastewater was evaluated for its growth, proximate composition and carotenoid production. The results showed that significantly(P < 0.05) higher growth(4.3 × 105 cells mL^(-1)) and protein(56.4% dry weight), lipid(44% dry weight) and carbohydrate(20% of dry weight) contents were found in T. chuii when they were cultured in the combination of both wastewater and Conway(wastewater + Conway) medium. However, carotenoid production of T. chuii was significantly increased(P < 0.05) when it was cultured in wastewater only, followed by Conway + wastewater and Conway medium only. Therefore, the incorporation of wastewater with commercial medium Convey is recommended for a cost-effective microalgae culture, as well as for the enhancement of growth and nutritional content of microalgae.

Highly efficient and stable organic solar cells with SnO_(2)electron transport layer enabled by UV-curing acrylate oligomers

The interfaces between the inorganic metal oxide and organic photoactive layer are of outmost importance for efficiency and stability in organic solar cells(OSCs).Tin oxide(SnO_(2))is one of the promising candidates for the electron transport layer(ETL)in high-performance inverted *** a solution-processed SnO_(2)ETL is employed,however,the presence of interfacial defects and suboptimal interfacial contact can lower the power conversion efficiency(PCE)and operational stability of ***,highly efficient and stable inverted OSCs by modification of the SnO_(2)surface with ultraviolet(UV)-curable acrylate oligomers(SAR and OCS)are *** highest PCEs of 16.6%and 17.0%are achieved in PM6:Y6-BO OSCs with the SAR and OCS,respectively,outperforming a device with a bare SnO_(2)ETL(PCE 13.8%).The remarkable enhancement of PCEs is attributed to the optimized interfacial contact,leading to mitigated surface *** strikingly,improved light-soaking and thermal stability strongly correlated with the interfacial defects are demonstrated for OSCs based on SnO_(2)/UV cross-linked resins compared to OSCs utilizing bare SnO_(2).We believe that UV cross-linking oligomers will play a key role as interfacial modifiers in the future fabrication of large-area and flexible OSCs with high efficiency and stability.

A computing capability test for a switched system control design using the haris-Rogers method

The problem of finding stabilizing controllers for switched systems is an area of much research interest as conventional concepts from continuous time and discrete event dynamics do not hold true for these *** solutions have been proposed,most of which are based on finding the existence of a common Lyapunov function(CLF) or a multiple Lyapunov function(MLF) where the key is to formulate the problem into a set of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs).An alternative method for finding the existence of a CLF by solving two sets of linear inequalities(LIs) has previously been *** method is seen to be less computationally taxing compared to methods based on solving *** substantiate this,the computational ability of three numerical computational solvers,LMI solver,cvx,and Yalmip,as well as the symbolic computational program Maple were tested.A specific switched system comprising four second-order subsystems was used as a test *** the obtained solutions,the validity of the controllers and the corresponding CLF was *** was found that all tested solvers were able to correctly solve the *** issue of rounding-off error in numerical computation based software is discussed in *** test revealed that the guarantee of stability became uncertain when the rounding off was at a different decimal *** use of different external solvers led to the same conclusion in terms of the stability of switched *** a result,a shift from using a conventional numerical computation based program to using computer algebra is suggested.

An analysis of the implementation of a hybrid renewable-energy system in a building by considering the reduction in electricity price subsidies and the reliability of the grid

This article discusses the implementation of a hybrid renewable-energy system to satisfy the electricity requirements of a *** analysis is based on optimization calculations performed using HOMER *** components of the simulated hybrid renewable-energy system include photovoltaics,generators powered by biogas,converters and a *** input data utilized by the HOMER software are derived from measurements and *** electric load curve is obtained through measurements at the location of the case *** surveys,parameters pertaining to the components of the hybrid renewable-energy system were *** analysis was carried out using two sensitivity variables,namely electricity price and grid *** the basis of these two sensitivity variables,optimal system configuration,net present cost,energy cost,return on investment,internal rate of return and payback period were *** results of the analysis indicated that reducing subsidies,which results in higher electricity prices,provided opportuni-ties for economically competitive hybrid renewable-energy *** electricity prices of US$0.094/kWh,the return of investment and the internal rate of return increased to 15%and 19%,respectively,and the payback period decreased to 5.3 *** a hybrid renewable-energy system is implemented in regions with low grid reliability,the same phenomenon occurs.

The Internet revolution has resulted in abundant data from various sources,including social media,traditional media,*** the availability of data is no longer an issue,data labelling for exploiting it in supervised machine learning is still an expensive process and involves tedious human *** overall purpose of this study is to propose a strategy to automatically label the unlabeled textual data with the support of active learning in combination with deep *** specifically,this study assesses the performance of different active learning strategies in automatic labelling of the textual dataset at sentence and document *** achieve this objective,different experiments have been performed on the publicly available *** first set of experiments,we randomly choose a subset of instances from training dataset and train a deep neural network to assess performance on test *** the second set of experiments,we replace the random selection with different active learning strategies to choose a subset of the training dataset to train the same model and reassess its performance on test *** experimental results suggest that different active learning strategies yield performance improvement of 7% on document level datasets and 3%on sentence level datasets for auto labelling.

The Saccharum genus comprises species with large and variable chromosome numbers, leading to challenges in genomic studies and breeding improvement. Cytogenetics, including classical and molecular approaches, has played a central role in deciphering the genome structure, classification, and evolution of the genus Saccharum. The application of fluorescence in situ hybridization using oligonucleotide probes significantly improved our understanding of the complex genomes of Saccharum species. This paper reviews the application and progress of cytogenetic techniques in Saccharum. Future applications of cytogenetics are discussed, as they could benefit both genomic studies and breeding of sugarcane as well as other plants with complex genomes.

Characterization of meiotic chromosome behavior in the autopolyploid Saccharum spontaneum reveals preferential chromosome pairing without distinct DNA sequence variation

Autopolyploidy and allopolyploidy may represent an evolutionary advantage and are more common in plants than assumed. However, less attention has been paid to autopolyploidy than to allopolyploidy,and its evolutionary consequences are largely unclear, especially for plants with high ploidy levels. In this study, we developed oligonucleotide(oligo)-based chromosome painting probes to identify individual chromosomes in S. spontaneum. Using fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH), we investigated chromosome behavior during pachytene, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase of meiosis I(MI) in autotetraploid,autooctoploid, and autodecaploid S. spontaneum clones. All autopolyploid clones showed stable diploidized chromosome behavior;so that homologous chromosomes formed almost exclusively bivalents during MI. Two copies of homologous chromosome 8 with similar sizes in the autotetraploid clone showed preferential pairing with each other with respect to the other copies. However, sequence variation analysis showed no apparent differences among homologs of chromosome 8 and all other chromosomes. We suggest that either the stable diploidized pairing or the preferential pairing between homologous copies of chromosome 8 in the studied autopolyploid sugarcane are accounted for by unknown mechanisms other than DNA sequence similarity. Our results reveal evolutionary consequences of stable meiotic behavior in autopolyploid plants.

This research is focused on the analysis of the sequence stratigraphic units of F3 Block,within a wave-dominated delta of Plio–Pleistocene *** wells of F3 block and a 3D seismic data,are utilized in this *** conventional techniques of 3D seismic interpretation were utilized to mark the 11 surfaces on the seismic *** of seismic sequence stratigraphic interpretation,using well logs,and subsequent 3D geostatistical modeling,using seismic data,aided to evaluate the shallow hydrocarbon *** resulting models were obtained using System Tract and Facies models,which were generated by using sequential stimulation method and their variograms made by spherical method,moreover,these models are validated via *** CDF curve generated from upscaling of well logs using geometric method,shows a good relation with less percentage of errors(1 to 2 for Facies and 3 to 4 for System Tract models)between upscaled and raw data that complements the resulted *** approaches help us to delineate the best possible reservoir,lateral extent of system tracts(LST and/or HST)in the respective surface,and distribution of sand and shale in the *** clinoform break points alteration observed on seismic sections,also validates the sequence stratigraphic *** GR log-based Facies model and sequence stratigraphy-based System Tract model of SU-04-2 showed the reservoir characteristics,presence of sand bodies and majorly LST,respectively,mainly adjacent to the main fault of the studied ***,on the seismic section,SU-04-2 exhibits the presence of gas pockets at the same location that also complements the generated Facies and System Tract *** generated models can be utilized for any similar kind of study and for the further research in the F3 block reservoir characterization.
