Two pot experiments with a completely random design and 4 replications were performed in a greenhouse to examine the response difference of 17 cultivars of pakchoi (Brassica chinensis L.) grown in a Cu-spiked and a clean soil to Cu. The response of pakchoi to Cu toxicity varied with the cultivars. The biomass in cultivars of Gaogengbai , Siyueman and Suzhouqing were sensitive to soil Cu pollution, but the cultivars of Heixinwu , Huoqingcai and HKcaixin were relatively tolerant. Lightweight aerogels feature multifunctionality and a high porosity,yet accompanied with poor structure recovery under large strain *** this work,we develop an air bubble-ice crystal dual template and annealing strategy to integrate low density and high resilience for the conductive transition metal carbides/nitrides(MXene)composite *** air bubbles and ice crystals synergistically exclude the nanosheets to the gas-liquid interfaces,thereby constructing unique Y-shaped junctions and robust *** annealing process greatly enhances the interlayer *** external load,the Yshaped structures prevent the stress concentration at the junctions by transferring the forces to the skeleton for maintaining structural *** addition,the wrinkled and thick cell walls,together with the enhanced interlayer interactions,endow the aerogel with exceptional structural stability and *** a result,the MXene/reduced graphene oxide(RGO)composite aerogels exhibit superelasticity with reversible compressive strains of up to 95%.In addition,the electron bridging effect of the RGO sheets affords the aerogel to deliver excellent electromagnetic interference shielding performance,as high as 46.3 dB at 2.5 ***,the remarkable reshapeability of the aerogels allows for precise regulation of structure and performance(33.5-75.1 dB)by a simple wetting compression *** summary,this work offers helpful inspirations for developing lightweight and superelasticity aerogels for extensive applications.

The absorption and emission spectra of Nd3+:GdMgB5O10 crystal were inves- tigated. Based on Judd-Ofelt theory the three parameters of oscillator strength were obtained as follows: ?2 = 2.099×10-20 cm2, ?4 = 4.599×10-20 cm2 and ?6 = 5.139×10-20 cm2. The fluorescence branch rations were also obtained: β1 = 0.424, β2 = 0.474, β3 = 0.094 and β4 = 0.005. The radiative lifetime is 416 μs and quantum efficiency ηc 9.13%. The emission cross section σp (1.06 μm) is 4.38×10-19 cm2.

The title compound GdMg（BO2）s crystallizes in monoclinic, space group P21/n with a = 8.6230（17）, b = 7.5860（15）, c = 9.3777（19） A, β= 93.19（3）°, V = 612.5（2） A3, Z = 4, Mr = 395.61, De= 4.290 g/cm^3,μ = 10.987 mm^-1, F（000） = 724, the final R = 0.0135 and wR= 0.0355 for 1373 observed reflections with I 〉 2σ（I）. The structure consists of BO3 triangles, BO4 tetrahedra, MgO6 distortion octahedra and GdO10 polyhedra. Furthermore, BO3 triangles and BO4 tetrahedra have been verified by infrared spectra. The Gd atoms form infinite zigzag chains along the b axis with the shortest distance of Gd--Gd being 3.958 A. The shorter Gd--Gd will result in a strong interaction between active ions and a large fluorescence concentration quenching effect.

In this paper,we study the quantum geometric effects near the locations where classical black hole horizons used to appear in Einstein's classical theory,within the framework of an improved dynamic approach,in which the internal region of a black hole is modeled by the Kantowski-Sachs(KS)spacetime and the two polymerization parameters are functions of the phase space *** detailed analysis shows that the effects are so strong that black and white hole horizons of the effective quantum theory do not exist at all and instead are replaced by transition surfaces,across which the metric coefficients and their inverses are smooth and remain finite,as are the corresponding curvatures,including the Kretschmann *** surfaces always separate trapped regions from anti-trapped *** number of such surfaces is infinite,so the corresponding KS spacetimes become geodesically complete,and no black and white hole-like structures exist in this scheme.

GdOHCO3 rhombic microcrystals were synthesized by hydrothermal method with urea used as the preci- pitator. Experimental parameters, such as the molar ratio of the starting reagents, reaction temperature and reaction time were examined. The as-obtained product was characterized by powder X-ray diffraction（XRD）, field-emission scanning electron microscopy（FESEM）, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS）, Fourier transform infrared spec- troscopy（FTIR） and spectrofluorometry. The main reactions to form GdOHCO3 were proposed. In addition, the pho- toluminescence（PL） properties of GdOHCO3 rhombic microcrystals were discussed. The broad band located between 350 nm and 600 nm in the emission spectrum can be attributed to the self-trapped exciton luminescence.

Biological processes have been widely used for the treatment of both domestic and industrial *** such biological processes,pollutants are converted into pollution-free substances by microorganisms through oxidation-reduction ***,how to quantify the internal oxidation-reduction properties wastewaters and seek out targeted countermeasures is essential to understand,operate,and optimize biological wastewater treatment *** far,no such approach is available *** this work,a novel concept of electron neutralization-based evaluation is proposed to describe the internal oxidation-reduction properties of *** in wastewater are defined as electron donor substances(EDSs)or electron acceptor substances(EASs),which could give or accept electrons,*** such an electron neutralization concept,several parameters,i.e.,electron residual concentration(R),economy-related index(E and E r),and economical evaluation index(Y and Y r),are ***,these parameters are used to evaluate the performance and economic aspects of currently applied wastewater treatment processes and even optimize *** case studies demonstrate that the proposed concept could be effectively used to reduce wastewater treatment costs,assess energy recovery,and evaluate process ***,a new,simple,and reliable methodology is established to describe the oxidation-reduction properties of wastewater and assess the biological wastewater treatment processes.
