Feasibility Study on Recovering Human-Occupied Vehicle with An Offshore Crane

Launching and recovering human-occupied vehicles(HOVs)has always been a challenging *** current recovery process requires staff to manually complete the tethering task,which is inefficient and endangers the lives of *** paper suggests moving the recovery position from the surface to underwater at approximately half the wavelength of the water depth(30−50 m underwater),where the HOV experiences less environmental *** ROV equipped with a ultra-short baseline beacon(USBL)and a manipulator was used to complete the tethering ***,a shackle customized to the shape of the manipulator’s gripper is fitted to the end of the cable to simplify the tethering *** investigate the dynamic response of recovering the HOV using this suggested method,a comprehensive numerical model is developed in this *** effects of wind,surface waves,ocean currents,and nonlinear interaction between the installation vessel and the HOV are quantitatively *** results show that the proposed recovery method can reduce the motion amplitude of the HOV and that the wave has the greatest influence on the dynamic response of the HOV during the recovery *** model provides better insight into the proposed HOV recovery method and confirms the effectiveness of the heave compensation *** proposed approach aims to enhance safety and operational efficiency by reducing direct human involvement in the recovery process and mitigating potential *** finding holds particular significance,especially in environmentally sensitive areas,where reducing the impact on the surrounding ecosystem is crucial.

Hematite-facilitated microbial ammoxidation for enhanced nitrogen removal in constructed wetlands

Constructed wetlands(CWs)are widely applied for decentralized wastewater ***,achieving efficient removal of ammonia(NH+-N)has proven challenging due to insufficient *** this study,natural hematite(Fe,O3)was employed as a CW substrate(H-CWs)for the first time to drive anaerobic ammonia oxidation coupled with iron(I)reduction(Feammox).Compared to gravel constructed wetlands(G-CWs),ammonia removal was enhanced by 38.14%to 54.03%and nitrous oxide(N_(2)0)emissions were reduced by 34.60%in *** synergistic removal of ammonia and nitrate by H-CWs also resulted in the absence of ammoxidation *** and 15N isotope tracer incubations showed that Feammox accounting for approximately 40%of all ammonia removal in the *** enrichment of iron phosphate(Fe_(3)Fe_(4)(PO_(4))_(6))promoted the accumulation of the Feammox intermediate compound *** nanowires were observed on the surface of H-CW substrates as well,suggesting that the observed biological ammoxidation was most likely related to extracellular electron transfer(EET).Microbial and metagenomics analysis revealed that H-CWs elevated the integrity and enhanced the abundance of functional microorganisms and genes associated with nitrogen ***,the efficient ammonia removal in the absence of O2 together with a reduction in N_(2)O emissions as described in this study may provide useful guidance for hematite-mediated anaerobic ammonia removal in CWs.

Enhancing force sensing in a squeezed optomechanical system with quantum nondemolition measurement

A theoretical scheme is proposed to enhance the sensitivity of force sensors with quantum nondemolition measurement(QND)in an optomechanical setup assisted by four-tone optical driving and an optical parametric amplifier(OPA).With the help of special drive,the system can be simplified as the typical type of QND for force sensing,so that the backaction noise can be evaded to surpass the standard quantum ***,the added noise can be suppressed owing to the modified optical susceptibility resulting from the *** introducing two oscillators coupling with two charged bodies respectively,the signal can be enhanced with the nonlinearity caused by Coulomb interaction,while the noise presents an exponential ***,considering the homodyne detection effect,the range of system parameters and frequency bands will be *** present investigation may provide a route toward simultaneously evading backaction noise,reducing the mechanical thermal noise,and enhancing the external signal,which can be an alternative design for sensitive devices.

Distributed Economic MPC for Synergetic Regulation of the Voltage of an Island DC Micro-Grid

In this paper,distributed model predictive control(DMPC) for island DC micro-grids(MG) with wind/photovoltaic(PV)/battery power is proposed,which coordinates all distributed generations(DG) to stabilize the bus voltage together with the insurance of having computational efficiency under a real-time *** on the feedback of the bus voltage,the deviation of the current is dispatched to each DG according to cost over the prediction ***,to avoid the excessive fluctuation of the battery power,both the discharge-charge switching times and costs are considered in the model predictive control(MPC) optimization problems.A Lyapunov constraint with a time-varying steady-state is designed in each local MPC to guarantee the stabilization of the entire *** voltage stabilization of the MG is achieved by this strategy with the cooperation of *** numeric results of applying the proposed method to a MG of the Shanghai Power Supply Company shows the effectiveness of the distributed economic MPC.

Vertically aligned montmorillonite aerogel-encapsulated polyethylene glycol with directional heat transfer paths for efficient solar thermal energy harvesting and storage

An analytical model of hot rolling force for a thick plate by combining globally optimal approximation yield criterion and egg-circular velocity field

For the sake of solving the problem that it is difficult to be integrated for the Mises specific plastic power due to its nonlinearity,a new linear criterion,named the globally optimal approximation criterion,is constructed by the polygonal approximation to the Mises *** new criterion is proved to be the linear function of the principal stress componentsσ1,σ2 andσ3 and the trajectory of it on theπ-plane is a non-equiangular but equilateral dodecagon intersecting the Mises *** theoretical results of the current criterion described by the Lode stress parameters are in excellent accordance with the experimental ***,according to the trend that the metallic flow velocity between rollers aggrandizes gradually from the inlet to the outlet during the hot rolling of a thick plate,a biomimetic velocity field is proposed in which the horizontal velocity component fits the egg-circular curve *** velocity field and its simulated results agree quite ***,using the determined linear criterion,energy analysis of the constructed velocity field is utilized to obtain the interior deformation power,while the vector decomposition approach is utilized to obtain the frictional power and shear *** this basis,the overall power is obtained and the analytical solutions are generated for the rolling torque,rolling force and the coefficient of the stress state under different egg curves by minimizing the neutral ***,the parameter optimization of the characteristic parameterρwhich affects the slope of the egg-circular curve is carried out and the best egg-circular curve which can minimize the energy consumption is *** best agreement between the theoretical and observed values of rolling force and rolling torque is under this curve,and the mean relative errors of the rolling torque and rolling force are no more than 2.93%,while the maximum error is no more than 8.35%.

Aqueous Zn-ion batteries(AZIBs)have attracted increasing attention in next-generation energy storage systems due to their high safety and ***,the side reactions,dendrites and hydrogen evolution effects at the zinc anode interface in aqueous electrolytes seriously hinder the application of aqueous zinc-ion ***,we report a critical solvation strategy to achieve reversible zinc electrochemistry by introducing a small polar molecule acetonitrile to form a“catcher”to arrest active molecules(bound water molecules).The stable solvation structure of[Zn(H_(2)O)_(6)]^(2+)is capable of maintaining and completely inhibiting free water ***[Zn(H_(2)O)_(6)]^(2+)is partially desolvated in the Helmholtz outer layer,the separated active molecules will be arrested by the“catcher”formed by the strong hydrogen bond N-H bond,ensuring the stable desolvation of Zn^(2+).The Zn||Zn symmetric battery can stably cycle for 2250 h at 1 mAh cm^(-2),Zn||V_(6)O_(13) full battery achieved a capacity retention rate of 99.2%after 10,000 cycles at 10 A g^(-1).This paper proposes a novel critical solvation strategy that paves the route for the construction of high-performance AZIBs.

Highly coupled off-resonance lattice design in diffraction-limited light sources

The round-beam operation presents many benefits for scientific experiments regarding synchrotron radiation and the weak-ening influences of intra-beam scattering in diffraction-limited synchrotron light sources.A round-beam generation method based on the global setting of skew quadrupoles and the application of a non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm was pro-posed in this *** schemes,including large-emittance coupling introduced via betatron coupling and vertical disper-sion,were explored in a candidate lattice for an upgrade-proposal of the Shanghai synchrotron radiation *** variations with lattice imperfections and their influence on the beam dynamics of beam optic distortions were *** results demonstrated that a precise coupling control ranging from 10 to 100%was achieved under low optical distortion,whereas full-coupling generation and its robustness were achieved by our proposed method by adjusting the skew quadrupole components located in the dispersion-free *** Touschek lifetime increased by a factor of 2–2.5.

The Completeness of Accreting Neutron Star Binary Candidates from the Chinese Space Station Telescope

A neutron star（NS） has many extreme physical conditions, and one may obtain some important information about an NS via accreting neutron star binary（ANSB） systems. The upcoming Chinese Space Station Telescope（CSST）provides an opportunity to search for a large sample of ANSB candidates. Our goal is to check the completeness of the potential ANSB samples from CSST data. In this paper, we generate some ANSBs and normal binaries under the CSST photometric system by binary evolution and binary population synthesis method and use a machine learning method to train a classification model. Although the Precision（94.56%） of our machine learning model is as high as before study, the Recall is only about 63.29%. The Precision/Recall is mainly determined by the mass transfer rate between the NSs and their companions. In addition, we also find that the completeness of ANSB samples from CSST photometric data by the machine learning method also depends on the companion mass and the age of the system. ANSB candidates with a low initial mass companion star（0.1 M⊙to 1 M⊙） have a relatively high Precision（94.94%） and high Recall（86.32%）, whereas ANSB candidates with a higher initial mass companion star（1.1 M⊙to 3 M⊙） have similar Precision（93.88%） and quite low Recall（42.67%）. Our results indicate that although the machine learning method may obtain a relatively pure sample of ANSBs, a completeness correction is necessary for one to obtain a complete sample.
