Constructing own oxygen vacancies in the photocatalysts is a very promising method to improve their photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction ***,some catalysts have excellent stabilities,making it difficult for them to construct their own oxygen *** simplify the above difficulty of stable photocatalysts,constructing extrinsic oxygen vacancies on their surface as a novel idea is ***,a stable TiO_(2)nanosheet is chosen as a research object,we uniformly deposited BiOCl quantum dots on their surface via a simple adsorption-deposition *** is found that BiOCl quantum dots are able to simultaneously self-transform into defective BiOCl with many oxygen vacancies when the photocatalyst is performed photocatalytic CO_(2)*** extrinsic oxygen vacancies can act as“CO_(2)and photo-generated electrons reservoirs”to improve CO_(2)capture and accelerate the separation of photogenerated electrons and *** the above reasons,the modified TiO_(2)showed obvious enhancement of photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction compared to pristine TiO_(2)and *** work may open a new avenue to broaden the use of oxygen vacancies in the process of photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction.

Shale mechanical properties are important for shale gas production,but the magnitudes are difficult to estimate,standard size cores are hard to sample,and secondary interstice generation is *** paper proposes a method for determining shale macroscale modulus,which is determined at a hierarchy of scales from the nano-to *** measurements are upscaled to estimate the corresponding magnitudes at the macroscale.A case study is conducted with Silurian shale samples,using the hierarchy scales,gridding nanoindentation,atomic force microscopy(AFM),mineral liberation analysis(MLA),X-ray diffraction(XRD),and uniaxial compression *** mineral compositions are analyzed using MLA and XRD,and the shale composition is described in terms of clay minerals,organic matter,and siliceous and carbonate *** variation in the Young’s modulus is analyzed based on the recorded indentation depth curves and modulus *** nanoindentation and AFM results are upscaled to the centimeter scale through the Mori-Tanaka *** upscaled results exhibit satisfactory fitting with the conventional uniaxial compression results,although the fitting of the upscaled AFM results is better than *** proposed approach can be applied to promptly and comprehensively predict the shale mechanical parameters during shale gas exploration.

A novel polycyclodextrin-modified magnetic cationic hydrogel(PCD-MCH) was developed and its performance,kinetics and mechanism for the removal of reactive brilliant red X-3B(X-3B) were *** results showed that the zeta-potential of PCD-MCH was 32.8 to16.7 mV at pH *** maximum X-3B adsorption capacity of PCD-MCH was2792.3 mg/*** adsorption kinetics could be well-described by the Weber-Morris model and the homogeneous surface diffusion model(HSDM).Diffusion stages corresponding to surface or film diffusion,intra-particle or wide mesopore diffusion,and narrow mesopore/micropore diffusion occurred at 0-120,120-480 and 480-1200 min,*** latter two diffusion stages were rate-controlling for X-3B adsorption *** the initial X-3B concentration of 600 mg/L,the diffusion coefficient(Ds) and external mass transfer coefficient in the liquid phase(kF) were 3x10^-11 cm^2/min and 4.68 x 10^-6 cm/min,respectively.X-3B approaching the center of PCD-MCH particles could be observed at 360 *** the end of the third diffusion stage,the Cp at q/qe=0 was 45.20 mg/L,which was close to the homogeneous Cp value of 46 mg/L along the radius of PCD-MCH *** pH 3.0-10.0,PCD-MCH showed stable X-3B adsorption *** five regeneration-reuse cycles,the residual adsorption capacity of regenerated PCD-MCH was higher than 892.7 mg/*** corresponding adsorption mechanism was identified as involving electrostatic interactions,cyclodextrin cavities and hydrogen bonds,of which cyclodextrin cavities showed prominent capture performance towards dye molecules through the formation of inclusion complexes.

Lithium-ion battery(LIB) industry seems to have met its bottle neck in cutting down producing costs even though much efforts have been put into building a complete industrial chain. Actually, manufacturing methods can greatly affect the cost of battery production. Up to now, lithium ion battery producers still adopt manufacturing methods with cumbersome sub-components preparing processes and costly assembling procedures, which will undoubtedly elevate the producing cost. Herein, we propose a novel approach to directly assemble battery components(cathode, anode and separator) in an integrated way using electro-spraying and electro-spinning technologies. More importantly, this novel battery manufacturing method can produce LIBs in large scale, and the products show excellent mechanical strength, flexibility, thermal stability and electrolyte wettability. Additionally, the performance of the as-prepaed Li Fe PO_(4)||graphite full cell produced by this new method is comparable or even better than that produced by conventional manufacturing approach. In brief, this work provides a new promising technology to prepare LIBs with low cost and better performance.

The effects of the coefficient of friction and coefficient of restitution on the static packing characteristics of a polydisperse spherical pebble bed are numerically investigated using the discrete element *** important static packing characteristics under different coefficients of friction and restitution are presented and *** results show that the coefficients of friction and restitution impose opposite effects on the packing heights and global packing *** the coefficient of friction nor restitution affected the oscillation width of the wall,whereas their effects are primarily reflected in the oscillation amplitude of the radial local packing factor and the axial local packing factor distribution at the top of the pebble *** both the contact force distribution and coordination number distribution,a left-shifted phenomenon appearing as the coefficient of friction occurred,and only the magnitude of the maximum frequency is affected when the coefficient of restitution changed from 0.1 to *** all simulation cases,the effects of the coefficients of friction and restitution are similar to that of cross-impact.

The difference in microstructure leads to the diversity of shale mechanical properties and bedding fractures distribution *** this paper,the microstructure and mechanical properties of Longmaxi marine shale and Qingshankou continental shale were studied by X-ray diffractometer(XRD),field emission scanning electron microscope(FE-SEM)with mineral analysis system,and ***,the typical bedding layers area was properly stratified using Focused Ion Beam(FIB),and the effects of microstructure and mechanical properties on the distribution patterns of bedding fractures were *** results show that the Longmaxi marine shale sample contains more clay mineral grains,while the Qingshankou continental shale sample contains more hard brittle mineral grains such as *** Longmaxi marine shale sample,hard brittle minerals with grain sizes larger than 20μm is18.24%and those with grain sizes smaller than 20μm is 16.22%.For Qingshankou continental shale sample,hard brittle minerals with grain sizes larger than 20μm is 40.7%and those with grain sizes smaller than 20μm is 11.82%.In comparison to the Qingshankou continental shale sample,the Longmaxi marine shale sample has a lower modulus,hardness,and *** shales are formed by alternating coarse-grained and fine-grained layers during *** average single-layer thickness of Longmaxi marine shale sample is greater than Qingshankou continental shale *** two types of shale have similar bedding fractures distribution patterns and fractures tend to occur in the transition zone from coarse-grained to fine-grained *** orientation of the fracture is usually parallel to the bedding plane and detour occurs in the presence of hard brittle *** fracture distribution density of the Longmaxi marine shale sample is lower than that of the Qingshankou continental shale sample due to the strong heterogeneity of the Qingshankou continental *** current resea

While the electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction(NRR) represents a prospective blueprint for environmentally renewable ammonia generation,it has yet to overcome the limitations of weak activity and inferior *** this regard,surface modification tactic was constructed to markedly enhance the activity and selectivity via introducing Sn atoms into the surface of defective cerium oxide(denoted as Sn-CeO_(2-x)) as the active and robust electrocatalyst for NRR under benign *** introduction of Sn atoms in CeO_(2-x)can not only inhibit the HER activity of the catalyst but also modulate the electronic structure of ceria and optimize N-Ce interaction,thus enhancing NRR activity and *** all previous CeO_(2)-based NRR catalysts,this catalyst has demonstrated an ammonia yield rate of 41.1 μg mg_(cat)^(-1) h^(-1) and an exceptional Faradic efficiency of 35.3%.This work presents a viable approach for the development of advanced NRR electrocatalysts.

Carbonate reservoirs exhibit strong heterogeneity in the distribution of pore types that can be quantitatively characterized by applying Xu–Payne multi-porosity ***,there are some prerequisites to this model the porosity and saturation need to be *** general,these application conditions are difficult to satisfy for seismic *** order to overcome this problem,we present a two-step method to estimate the porosity and saturation and pore type of carbonate reservoirs from seismic *** step one,the pore space of the carbonate reservoir is equivalent to a single-porosity system with an effective pore aspect ratio;then,a 3D rock-physics template(RPT)is established through the Gassmann’s equations and effective medium models;and then,the effective aspect ratio of pore,porosity and fluid saturation are simultaneously estimated from the seismic data based on 3D *** step two,the pore space of the carbonate reservoir is equivalent to a triple-porosity *** with the inverted porosity and saturation in the first step,the porosities of three pore types can be inverted from the seismic elastic *** application results indicate that our method can obtain accurate physical properties consistent with logging data and ensure the reliability of characterization of pore type.

Excessive or insufficient application of fertilizer has raised broader concerns regarding soil and environmental ***-time application of slow release fertilizer (SF) has been widely used to reduce yield gap with potential maize yield and improve nitrogen use efficiency (NUE).A 2-year field experiment (2018–2019) was conducted to evaluate the effects of SF rates from 0 to 405 kg N ha^(–1) (named F0,SF225,SF270,SF315,SF360,and SF405) and 405 kg N ha^(–1) of common fertilizer(CF405) on the grain yield,biomass and N accumulation,enzymatic activities related with carbon–nitrogen metabolism,NUE and economic *** indicated that the highest grain yields,NUEs and economic returns were achieved at SF360in both *** enzymatic activities related with carbon–nitrogen metabolism,pre-and post-silking accumulation of biomass and N increased with increasing SF rate,and they were the highest at SF360 and *** grain yield at SF360had no significant difference with that at ***,the N partial factor productivity,N agronomic efficiency and N recovery efficiency at SF360 were 9.8,6.6 and 8.9% higher than that at *** results also indicated that the average grain yields,NUE and economic benefit at SF405 were 5.2,12.3 and 18.1% higher than that at *** conclusion,decreasing N rate from 405 kg ha^(–1)(CF) to 360 kg ha^(–1)(SF) could effectively reduce the yield gap between realized and potential maize *** N decreased by 11.1%,but the yield,NUE and economic benefit increased by 3.2,22.2 and 17.5%,which created a simple,efficient and business-friendly system for spring maize production in Jiangsu Province,China.
