A distinct pattern of memory and attention deficiency in patients with depression

Background Depression related cognitive deficits are frequently considered as simple epiphenomena of the disorder. However, whether or not the depression might directly bring about cognitive deficits is still under investigation. This study was to investigate the distinctpattern of cognitive deficits in patients with depression by comparing the cognitive function before and after anti-depressive drug therapy. Me^ods Sixty cases of patients, first-time diagnosed with depression, were assessed by 17-item Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression （HAMD17scale）The memory ability was tested by quantitatively clinical memory scale, while the attention ability by modified Ruff 2＆7 Selective Attention Test. Forty-two healthy volunteers were recruited as controls. The depressive patients were treated with Venlafaxine （75-300 mg/d）, Fluoxetine （20-40 mg/d）, Paroxetine （20-40 rag/d）, and Sertraline （50-150 mg/d）. After 12 weeks treatment, patients were tested again by HAMD17scale, quantitatively clinical memory scale, and modified Ruff 2＆7 selective attention test to assess the effect of anti-depressive drugs on cognitive deficits. Results The memory quotient （MQ） was significantly lowered in depressive patients. The selection speed was also significantly decreased and the number of missing and error hits increased in the depression group as compared to control. However, there was no significant difference in clinical memory scale and Ruff 2＆7 selective attention test between mild-to-moderate and severe depression group. Importantly, after anti-depressive drug therapy, the HAMD17 scale scores in depressive patients were significantly decreased, but the MQ, directional memory （DM）, free recall （FR）, associative learning （AL）, and face recognition were comparable with those before the treatment. The continuous emergence of new severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)variants meansthere is a need to explore additional strategies to develop broad-spectrum vaccines or therapeutics for individuals remaining at risk of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).Neutralizing monoclonal antibody(mAb)that binds to theconserved S2 subunit of the SARS-CoV-2 spike(S)protein alone,or in combination with mAb that binds to the receptor-binding domain(RBD)of S protein,might be effective in eliciting protection from infection by a variety of SARS-CoV2 *** high-throughput single-cell immunoglobulin sequencing of B cells from COVID-19-convalescent donors,we identified a high-affinity S2-specific mAb-39,that could inhibit original SARS-CoV-2 strain,Omicron BA.1,BA.2.86,BA.4,BA.5,and EG.5.1 S protein-mediated membrane fusion,leading to the neutralization of these ***,mAb-39 could also improve the neutralizing activity of anti-RBD antibody against the highlyneutralization-resistant Omicron *** docking and point mutation analyses revealed that mAb-39 recognized epitopes within the conserved upstream region of the heptad repeat 2(HR2)motif of the S2 ***,these findings demonstrate that targeting the conserved upstream region of the HR2 motif(e.g.,using mAbs)provides anovel strategy for preventing the infection of SARS-CoV-2 and its variants.

以长三角城市群物流业为研究对象,采用熵权TOPSIS法和核密度估计分析方法,测度2010—2021年长三角城市群物流业高质量发展水平并分析区域发展差异。研究发现:长三角城市群物流业高质量发展水平向好趋势明显,但仍然有待提高。有18个城市的物流业高质量发展水平低于均值。其中上海的物流业高质量发展水平最高,居于第2位的苏州相比于上海还有较大差距。从各区域来看,区域发展不均衡的特征较明显,各区域物流业高质量发展水平存在一定差距,上海物流业高质量发展水平显著高于其他区域,物流业高质量发展水平排名靠后的城市主要集中在安徽,该区域内发展差距呈现缩小趋势。

螺旋桨桨叶断裂飞脱轨迹对飞机的安全性有重要的影响。为了研究螺旋桨桨叶根部断裂后的运动过程，采用数值模拟方法进行了仿真分析，并与风洞试验结果对比。将求解区域划分为10个网格区域，对其中3个螺旋桨旋转区域单独划分网格，通过滑移网格进行数据传递，对有飞脱桨叶的螺旋桨的6个桨叶分别设置重叠网格。采用螺旋桨真实旋转的非定常方法获得周期性稳定的空间流场，当飞脱桨叶到达指定位置后，求解桨叶的6自由度运动方程，计算桨叶的飞行轨迹。结果表明：在短时间内，该螺旋桨的桨叶飞脱后的运动轨迹主要受惯性力的影响，而气动力的影响不大；飞脱桨叶的桨根在第0.015 s左右与后继桨叶的桨尖相撞，与测力风洞试验的断桨事故诊断结果相符。

以对甲基苯甲醛和乙酸甲酯为原料,经克莱森施密特缩合反应制备对甲基肉桂酸甲酯。优化条件为:m(乙酸甲酯)∶m(对甲基苯甲醛)=5∶1,n(甲醇钠)∶n(对甲基苯甲醛)=2.0∶1.0,反应温度为65℃,优化条件下对甲基肉桂酸甲酯收率92.32%,含量99.38%;对甲基肉桂酸甲酯与N-溴代丁二酰亚胺(NBS)反应得到奥扎格雷钠的关键中间体对溴甲基肉桂酸甲酯,优化条件为:溶剂为乙酸甲酯,m(乙酸甲酯)∶m(对甲基肉桂酸甲酯)=4∶1,反应温度为70℃,n(N-溴代丁二酰亚胺)∶n(对甲基肉桂酸甲酯)=1.2∶1.0,优化条件下产品收率88.86%,含量97.48%。该法具有绿色环保、收率高、成本低等优势。

目的:了解住院儿童围手术期抗菌药物使用和医院感染情况,为规范抗菌药物的使用提供依据。方法:连续3年随机抽取10%的手术儿童患者的出院病历进行围手术期抗菌药物使用的合理性评价和分析。结果:抗菌药物使用率为100%。使用频次排序前3位的是第2代头孢菌素、青霉素类、第3代头孢菌素;88.7%的病例存在抗菌药物使用不合理情况,其中无适应证用药占31.16%,45.3%的联合用药不合理,21.5%的病例单次剂量过大,仅8.6%的病例用药时机正确。医院感染发生率为5.93%,年龄和性别与医院感染发生率关系不大。结论:住院儿童患者围手术期抗菌药物不合理使用情况比较普遍,需要进一步加大干预力度,促进其规范化使用。

De novo assembly and comparative analysis of root transcriptomes from different varieties of Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer grown in different environments

Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer is an important traditional herb in eastern Asia. It contains ginsenosides, which are primary bioactive compounds with medicinal properties. Although ginseng has been cultivated since at least the Ming dynasty to increase production, cultivated ginseng has lower quantities of ginsenosides and lower disease resistance than ginseng grown under natural conditions. We extracted root RNA from six varieties of fifth-year P. ginseng cultivars representing four different growth conditions, and performed Illumina paired-end sequencing. In total, 163,165,706 raw reads were obtained and used to generate a de novo transcriptome that consisted of 151,763 contigs(76,336 unigenes), of which 100,648 contigs(66.3%) were successfully annotated. Differential expression analysis revealed that most differentially expressed genes(DEGs) were upregulated(246 out of 258, 95.3%) in ginseng grown under natural conditions compared with that grown under artificial conditions. These DEGs were enriched in gene ontology(GO) terms including response to stimuli and localization. In particular, some key ginsenoside biosynthesis-related genes, including HMG-Co A synthase(HMGS), mevalonate kinase(MVK), and squalene epoxidase(SE), were upregulated in wild-grown ginseng. Moreover, a high proportion of disease resistance-related genes were upregulated in wild-grown ginseng. This study is the first transcriptome analysis to compare wild-grown and cultivated ginseng, and identifies genes that may produce higher ginsenoside content and better disease resistance in the wild; these genes may have the potential to improve cultivated ginseng grown in artificial environments.

A new species of the genus Gonyosoma Wagler,1828 is described herein based on six specimens from the Diaoluoshan Mountains,Hainan Island,Hainan Province,*** new species,Gonyosoma hainanense ***.,is most similar to its continental sister species,Gonyosoma boulengeri(Mocquard,1897).Both taxa have a scaled protrusion on the anterior portion of the rostrum,distinct from other ***,Gonyosoma hainanense *** be distinguished from *** by two significant morphological characters:(1)black orbital stripe absent in adults(*** in ***);and(2)two loreals(*** loreal in ***).The new species is also genetically divergent and forms a unique clade from its sister species and all other congeners based on sequences of the mitochondrial gene cytochrome b(cyt b).

Visual programming language environment for different IoT and robotics platforms in computer science education

This study presents the authors’ recent research and application of a new visual programming language and its development environment: VIPLE (Visual IoT/Robotics Programming Language Environment) at Arizona State University (ASU). ASU VIPLE supports a variety of IoT devices and robots based on an open architecture. Based on computational thinking, VIPLE supports the integration of engineering design process, workflow, fundamental programming concepts, control flow, parallel computing, event-driven programming, and service-oriented computing seamlessly into a wide range of curricula, such as introduction to computing, introduction to engineering, service-oriented computing, and software integration. It is actively used at ASU in several sections of FSE 100: Introduction to Engineering and in CSE 446: Software Integration and Engineering, as well as in several other universities worldwide.

与社会学基础理论存在二元对立一样,作为社会学分支学科之一的贫困理论研究也呈现出个体主义范式与社会结构范式的二元对立。与此对应,中国扶贫实践也明显分野为个体主义扶贫范式和社会结构扶贫范式,这两种范式分别代表了中国扶贫历程的两个阶段。以社会互构论为理论原则,中国扶贫应该更强调个人与社会的双重参与、多元互动和制度之间的衔接。
