Nanostructured known to exhibit properties metal surfaces have been that deviate from that of the bulk material. By simply modifying the texture of a metal surface, various unique optical properties can be observed. In this paper, we present a simple two step electrochemical process combining electrodeposition and anodization to generate black gold surfaces. This process is simple, versatile and up-scalable for the production of large surfaces. The black gold films have remarkable optical behavior as they absorb more than 93% of incident light over the entire visible spectrum and also exhibit no specular reflectance. A careful analysis by scanning electron microscopy reveals that these unique optical properties are due to their randomly rough surface, as they consist in a forest of dendritic microstructures with a nanoscale roughness. This new type of black films can be fabricated to a large variety of substrates, turning them to super absorbers with potential applications in photovoltaic solar cells or highly sensitive detectors and so on.

Gasification technology is suggested to utilize asphalt particles, which are produced in the heavy oil deep separation process of using coupled low temperature separation of solvent and post extraction residue. In this work, the asphalt particles were first slurried with water and then gasified to produce synthesis gas. The gasification process of asphalt water slurry in an entrained flow gasifier was simulated using a three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics （CFD） model based on an Eulerian- Lagrangian method. The trajectories and residence time of asphalt particles, and the reaction rates, gas species distribution, temperature field and carbon conversion in the entrained flow gasifier were obtained. The predicted results indicated that the asphalt water slurry was a good feedstock for gasification. Moreover, the effects of particle size, oxygen equivalence ratio, and mass content of asphalt particles on the gasification performance of asphalt water slurry were investigated. These results are helpful for industrial application of asphalt water slurry gasification technology.

The precursor of ZnO has been prepared by refluxing in ethanol at 70°C for 4 h using ZnAc2·H2O as the initial agent. Then ZnO has been prepared from the reaction of LiOH·H2O and the precursor. The ZnO is modified by mercaptoacetic acid (MAA) and detected by SEM and XRD. These ZnO particles have single phase, like-sphere and size of 4.6 nm. The modified effectivity of MAA for the quantum dots (QDs) has been investigated with UV-visible and fluorescence analysis, and the mechanism and property of ZnO light emitting have been discussed under given conditions. The reasons why the fluorescent emission peak of surface defects disappear and the exciton emission peak increase are that MAA effectively covers the surface defects of ZnO and stably coats ZnO particles. At the same time, the effect of the added amount of the MAA, temperature and electrolyte on light-emitting properties of modified product has also been studied. The result shows that the modified ZnO QDs have good fluorescence property, stability and suitable capability of resisting electrolyte. These results are important for biological analysis.

The hydrodynamics is still not fully understood in the three-phase stirred tank equipped with multi-impeller due to the intensive interaction between *** this work,the solid critical suspension speed(NJSG),relative power demand(RPD)and overall gas holdup(ε_G)were measured in an air–water–glass beads stirred tank equipped with multi-impeller,which consists of a parabolic blade disk turbine below two down-pumping *** show that either the NJSGor the specific power consumption increases when increasing the volumetric solid concentration or superficial gas *** changes less than 10%when solid volumetric concentration ranges from 0 to 15%.ε_G decreases with the increase of solid concentration,and increases with the increase of both superficial gas velocity and the total specific power *** quantitative correlations of NJSG,RPD andεGwere regressed as the function of superficial gas velocity,specific power consumption,Froude number and gas flow number,in order to provide the reference in the design of such three-phase stirred tank with similar multi-impellers.

In this study,the flexural and longitudinal shear performances of two types of precast lightweight steel–ultra-high performance concrete(UHPC)composite beams are investigated,where a cluster UHPC slab(CUS)and a normal UHPC slab(NUS)are connected to a steel beam using headed studs through discontinuous shear pockets and full-length shear pockets,*** show that the longitudinal shear force of the CUS is greater than that of the NUS,whereas the interfacial slip of the former is *** to its better integrity,the CUS exhibits greater flexural stiffness and a higher ultimate bearing capacity than the *** further optimize the design parameters of the CUS,a parametric study is conducted to investigate their effects on the flexural and longitudinal shear *** square shear pocket is shown to be more applicable for the CUS,as the optimal spacing between two shear pockets is 650 ***,a design method for transverse reinforcement is proposed;the transverse reinforcement is used to withstand the splitting force caused by studs in the shear pocket and prevent the UHPC slab from *** to calculation results,the transverse reinforcement can be canceled when the compressive strength of UHPC is 150 MPa and the volume fraction of steel fiber exceeds 2.0%.

Element Tracking Strategies for Hot Strip Laminar Cooling Control

Feedforward control is the core to control function in the cooling process of hot strip. One of the most important tasks in feedforward control is to determine the arrival time of the strip at various locations on the runout table for effective control. Based on the principles of element tracking and tracking strategies for variable rolling speed and constant rolling speed, a simple diagonal tracking method for an existing hot strip mill was proposed and tested. The test results show that the proposed strategies are effective for improving tracking control.

The deformation of rolling piece in hot rolling by flat roll with different radii is analyzed with three-dimensional large deformation thermo-mechanical coupling finite element method. The distribution laws of stress, strain and strain energy density in deformation zone with rolls of different radii were studied. The result indicated that under the same condition, the larger the roll radius is, the more vigorous the deformation in deformation zone is.

A series of Pr-Co thin films were deposited on the Si (100) substrates with Cr underlayer by magnetron sputtering. The effects of both the post-annealing temperature and the annealing time on the microstructure and magnetic properties for the Pr-Co films were studied systemati- cally. The as-deposited Pr-Co thin films are mostly amorphous and tend to crystallize after annealing at temperatures above 600 C. When the annealing time is increased, the films show a complicated structure with various phases coexisting. Accordingly, the as-deposited film and low temperature annealed films are soft magnets and films annealed at temperatures beyond 600 C tend to be hard magnets. When the annealing time is increased from 5 min to 2 h, the films transfer from hard magnets to soft again. The sample annealed at 600 C for 10 min shows the largest coercivity of 0.59 T.
