Genetic diversity in two threatened species in Vietnam:Taxus chinensis and Taxus wallichiana

Taxus chinensis and T. wallichiana in have been threatened in their distribution areas in recent decades because of their over-exploitation and reduction and destruction of native habitats. Determining the genetic diversity in populations of the two species will provide guidelines for their protection and preservation. Two hundred and fifteen trees from six populations of T. chinensis and150 sampled trees of T. wallichiana were sampled. Six microsatellite primer pairs selected from 16 primer pairs were used to investigate genetic variation at the population and species levels. Five yielded polymorphic alleles, and among the 13 putative alleles amplified, 11 were polymorphic（accounting for 76.33 %）.Shannon＇s information index（I） and percentage of polymorphic bands（PPB）（I = 0.202 and PPB = 67.22 % for T. chinensis; I = 0.217 and PPB = 65.03 % for T. wallichiana）. Both species had low levels of genetic diversity（mean ho= 0.107, he= 0.121 for T. chinensis; ho= 0.095, he= 0.109 for T. wallichiana）. Genetic differentiation among populations was higher（FST= 0.189） for T. chinensis and lower（0.156） for ***, indicating limited gene flow（Nm） among populations for T. chinensis（0.68） and T. wallichiana（0.65）.Variation among individuals of T. chinensis was 63.59 and73.12 % for T. wallichiana. Thus, the threatened status of the two conifers is related to a lack of genetic diversity. All populations are isolated in small forest remnants. An ex situ conservation site should be established with a new population for these species that comprises all the genetic groups for the best chance to improve their fitness under environmental stresses.

Genes that are expressed ubiquitously throughout all developmental stages are thought to be necessary for basic biological or cellular functions. Therefore, determining their biological roles is a great challenge. We identified 4034 of these genes in rice after studying the results of Agilent 44K and Affymetrix meta- anatomical expression profiles. Among 105 genes that were characterized by loss-of-function analysis, 79 were classified as members of gene families, the majority of which were predominantly expressed. Using T-DNA insertional mutants, we examined 43 genes and found that loss of expression of six genes caused developing seedor seedling-defective phenotypes. Of these, three are singletons without similar family members and defective phenotypes are expected from mutations. Phylogenomic analyses integrating genome-wide transcriptome data revealed the functional dominance of three ubiquitously expressed fam- ily genes. Among them, we investigated the function of OsO3g19890, which is involved in ATP generation within the mitochondria during endosperm development. We also created and evaluated functional net- works associated with this gene to understand the molecular mechanism. Our study provides a useful strategy for pheonome analysis of ubiquitously expressed genes in rice.

Ecohealth is a comprehensive approach to understanding health at its human,animal and environmental interface in a socio-ecological systems *** approach was introduced widely in Southeast Asia(SEA)by the Canadian International Development Research Centre(IDRC)in the late *** at addressing the problem of emerging infectious diseases(EIDs),numerous such projects and activities have been generated throughout the *** is increasingly converging with the One health approach,as both movements emphasise a holistic understanding to *** conducted a scoping review by considering all of the Ecohealth programmes,initiatives and projects that have been implemented in SEA since the introduction of the approach,and also gathered information from peer-reviewed *** objective of this paper is to review Ecohealth activities within SEA over the last 10 years to address the lessons learned,challenges faced and the way forward for Ecohealth in the *** range from those focusing purely on capacity,projects focusing on research and projects covering *** to date include,for example,research contributing to the field of infectious diseases in relation to social ecological factors and associated urbanisation and agricultural *** remain at the project design and implementation level,in the available capacity and coordination to develop Ecohealth research teams in the countries,gauging teams’assimilation of Ecohealth’s underlying tenets and their translation into sustainable disease prevention and control,as well as in the ability to scale up Ecohealth *** suggest that the way forward for Ecohealth should be from a regional perspective in terms of research,training and policy translation using Ecohealth in combination with the One health approach.

This paper proposes an adaptive nonlinear proportional-derivative(ANPD)controller for a two-wheeled self-balancing robot(TWSB)modeled by the Lagrange equation with external *** proposed control scheme is designed based on the combination of a nonlinear proportional-derivative(NPD)controller and a genetic algorithm,in which the proportional-derivative(PD)parameters are updated online based on the tracking error and the preset error *** addition,the genetic algorithm is employed to adaptively select initial controller parameters,contributing to system stability and improved control *** proposed controller is basic in design yet simple to *** ANPD controller has the advantage of being computationally lightweight and providing high robustness against external *** stability of the closed-loop system is rigorously analyzed and verified using Lyapunov theory,providing theoretical assurance of its *** and experimental results show that the TWSB robot with the proposed ANPD controller achieves quick balance and tracks target values with very small errors,demonstrating the effectiveness and performance of the proposed *** proposed ANPD controller demonstrates significant improvements in balancing and tracking performance for two-wheeled self-balancing robots,which has great applicability in the field of robot control *** represents a promising solution for applications requiring precise and stable motion control under varying external conditions.

Two threatened dipterocarp species,Dipterocarpus costatus and Dipterocarpus alatus are well-known endangered species in lowland forests of southeastern Vietnam,primarily from habitat loss and over-exploitation of their *** develop conservation strategies for these species,we analyzed 242 samples using nine microsatellite markers to determine the genetic variability within and among five populations of *** and three of ***,representing the natural range of dipterocarps in Southeast *** indicated low levels of genetic variability within populations with an average gene diversity of 0.223 for *** and 0.152 for *** of bottleneck tests indicated a reduction in population size of both species(P>0.05).Genetic differentiation among populations was high(FST=0.347 for *** and 0.274 for ***),indicating limited gene flow(Nm=0.662 for *** and 0.47 for ***)and isolated populations related to geographical *** of molecular variance showed high genetic variation within populations(72.92%for *** and 60.81%for ***)compared to among *** analysis and UPGMA tree also indicated the two optimal genetic clusters related to geographical *** results will provide a platform for the conservation,management and restoration of these species.

Electro-hydraulic actuators(EhA)have recently played a signiﬁcant role in modern industrial applications,especially in systems requiring extremely high *** can be explained by EhA’s ability to precisely control the position and force through advanced sensors and innovative control *** of the promising approaches to improve control accuracy for EhA systems is applying classical to modern control algorithms,in which the proportional–inte-gral–derivative(PID)algorithm,fuzzy logic controller,and a hybrid of these methods are popular *** this paper,we developed a novel version of the fuzzy control algorithm and linear feedback control method,namely fuzzy lin-ear feedback control,to improve the control *** achieve the highest performance,weﬁrst designed a mathematical EhA model based on the Matlab/Simulink software packages thanks to the selected parameters,which are similar to a real EhA ***,we respectively applied PID,fuzzy PID(FPID),and fuzzy linear feedback control(FLFC)before comparing them to have a full view of the outstanding advantages of the proposed *** simulation results showed that the proposed FLFC algorithm is approximately 99%and 77%super-ior in performance to the PID and feedback control algorithms,respectively.

The development of accounting systems is influenced by socio-economic characteristics at each stage. The paper explores the impact of the characteristics of political institutions at every stage in the development of social economy, which determines the objects using accounting information, as well as the legal accounting system issued so that accounting can meet the demand for accounting information of these objects in Vietnam from 1975 to the present. Based on studies by authors in this period as well as issued accounting documents system, this paper aims to point out the formation and development process of Vietnam accounting system, providing researchers and elaborating agencies with a basis for determining the right development direction of Vietnam accounting in the coming time.

Synthesis and characterization of core/shell structured nanophosphors CePO_4:Tb@LaPO_4 by solvothermal method

Core/shell structured CePO4：Tb（Ⅲ）@LaPO4 and CePOa：Tb（Ⅲ） were successfully synthesized in tris（2-ethylhexyl） phosphate （TEhP） and diethylene glycol （DEG） solvents for comparison of the two techniques in open air and closed reaction vessel. Morphology and crystal structure of the core/shell nanophosphors were determined by using X-ray diffraction （XRD） and transmission electron microscopy （TEM）, which showed that nanophosphors had diameter of about 5-10 nm with the monoclinic monazite phase. The nanophosphors obtained by close vessel procedure showed smaller size, more homogeneity and pure crystallite. The luminescent measurements were done upon the different excitation wavelengths in ultraviolet region and at room temperatm＇e to elucidate the influences of the used solvents and the reaction temperatures. It was found that CePO4：Tb@LaPO4 preparedby the close vessel synthesis showed the intensity of green band of the transfer from 5D4 to 7F5 energy level, which was strongly increased, and the luminescent decay time was 3.2 ms, which was longer than that of naked CePO4：Tb phosphor.
