In this study electrochemical performance of Al and some of its alloys （Al-Zn, Al-rvlg and Al-rvln） anodes vs MnO2 cathode were carried out in alkaline solution. The results show that the Al-Zn alloy anode has the best cell capacity among the other alloys. Cell capacity values go in the order Al-Zn〉Al-Mg〉Al〉Al-Mn. This result is probably related to the nature of passive films formed on the surface of the alloys which examined by scanning electron microscopy （SEM）. SEM morphologies of Al and its alloys showed coarse grains of passive films formed on the surface of these anode materials while Al-Mn morphology shows a needle-like structure. Electrolytic manganese dioxide （EMD） produced by electrodepositing on platinum anode from liquor resulting from reduction of low grade pyrolusite ore （β-MnO2） by sulfur slag was characterized as cathode in alkaline Zn-MnO2 batteries. Ore produced sample （EMD1） was performed well in comparison with EMD standard （EMD2）（commercial battery grade electrolytic manganese dioxide, TOSOh-hellas Gh-S）. SEM morphology of Zn anode after cell reaction was carried out and showed that Zn anode has fine grains of passive film on its surface.

Constant load tests in NS4 solution purged with N2-5%CO2 gas mixture were conducted on American Petroleum Institute （API） X80 pipeline steel applied in the 2nd West-East （;as Pipeline project with and without preload. The results show that cracks could initiate and propagate in X80 pipeline steel in near-neutral ph environment under a constant load condition. The life of crack initiation and propagation increased with decreasing applied stress. Preload did not change its corrosion behavior obviously. however, preload reduced the time for crack initiation.

Introduction The development and increasing popularity of dermoscopy in recent decades has helped dermatologists and primary care providers to improve the diagnosis of skin lesions,especially skin tumors,and more recently inflammatory lesions as *** can now be used not only for diagnosis,but also to monitor the course of the disease and response to treatment for disorders as diverse as carcinomas,rosacea,psoriasis,lupus erythematosus,and porokeratosis[1].More recently still,teledermoscopy has expanded the reach of this useful technology,by using a digital dermoscope or standard digital camera with a dermoscopic lens attachment to capture images and send them to a teleconsultant.A variety of teledermoscopy platforms are available off the shelf,and can also be adapted to the organization's particular needs.

Objective:To evaluate the effect of hydroxysafflor yellow A(hSYA)on thioacetamide-induced liver ***:Thioacetamide was administered to rats intraperitoneally in doses of 200 mg/kg twice a week for 12 ***-intoxicated rats were given silymarin(50 mg/kg)or hSYA(5 mg/kg)orally every day for 8 *** enzymes,fibrosis markers,histological changes as well as immunohistochemistry of TNF-α,IL-6,p21,α-SMA,and caspase-3 were *** effect of hSYA on hSC-T6 activation/proliferation and apoptosis was also determined in ***:hSYA decreased liver enzymes,TNF-α,IL-6,and p21 expressions,hepatic PDGF-B,TIMP-1,TGF-β1,and hydroxyproline levels,as well as fibrosis score(S2 vs.S4)compared to the thioacetamide *** also downregulatedα-SMA while increasing caspase-3 ***,at 500μg/mL,hSYA had only a slightly suppressive effect on hSC proliferation,with a 9.5%***,it significantly reduced TGF-β1,inhibitedα-SMA expression,induced caspase-3 expression,and promoted cell ***:hSYA may be a potential therapeutic agent for delaying and reversing the progression of liver *** research on hSYA at higher doses and for a longer period is warranted.

Evaporative cooling is a widely used air cooling technique. In this method, evaporation of a liquid in the surrounding air cools the air in contact with it. In the current investigation, numerical simulations are carded out to visualize the evaporation and dynamics of tiny water droplets of different diameters in a long air duct. The effect of initial droplet size on the temperature and relative humidity distribution of the air stream in the duct is investigated. Three different initial conditions of air are considered to verify the influence of ambient conditions. Droplet spray patterns are also analyzed to identify the suitable locations for the spray nozzles within the duct. The resuits obtained are displayed in a series of plots to provide a clear understanding of the evaporative cooling process as well as the droplet dynamics within the ducts.

Alkaline earth metal （Mg,Ca,Sr and Ba）-doped Mo-V-Sb-O x catalysts,prepared by a dry-up method,have been investigated for their catalytic performance in the oxidation of propane under different reaction *** catalysts have been characterized by N2 adsorption-desorption,temperature-programmed desorption （TPD） of Nh3,SEM and *** of water vapor on the catalytic performance,particularly on the selectivities to acetic acid and acrylic acid,has also been *** selectivity to acrylic acid was improved significantly by the doping of alkaline earth metals to Mo-V-Sb-O x *** surface acidic sites of the catalyst decreased with the doping of the catalyst with alkaline earth metals,which ultimately was found to be beneficial for obtaining high selectivity to acrylic *** catalytic activity and product selectivities were found to be influenced by the reaction temperature,C3h8/O2 ratio and space velocity.A significant improvement in the selectivity to acrylic acid has also been observed by the addition of water vapor in the feed of propane and oxygen in the oxidation of propane.

Seiches are long-period standing waves with a unique period called a natural resonant period,during which the phenomenon of resonance *** occurrence of resonance in coastal areas can cause destruction to surrounding natural and man-made *** determining the resonant period of a given basin,we can pinpoint the conditions that allow waves to achieve *** this study,a mathematical model is developed from the shallow water equations to examine seiches and resonances in various types of closed *** developed model is solved analytically using the separation of variables method to determine the seiches’fundamental resonant *** between the analytical solutions and experimental measurements for resonant periods are also *** is shown that the analytical resonant period confirms the experimental data for closed basin of various geometric *** a finite volume method on a staggered grid,the model is solved numerically to simulate the wave profile when resonance phenomenon *** those numerical simulations,we also obtain the fundamental resonant period for each basin which agrees with the derived analytical period.

Graphene oxide (GO) possesses excellent mechanical strength,biocompatibility,colloidal stability,large surface area and high adsorption *** has driven to cancer nanotechnology to defeat cancer therapy obstacles,via integration into three-dimensional (3D) hydrogel network with biocompatible polymers as nanocomposites carrier,and controllable release of anticancer ***,the surface of GO affords π-π stacking and hydrophilic interactions with anticancer ***,modification of GO with various polymers such as natural and synthetic polymers enhances its biodegradability,drug loading,and target *** this review,GO based hydrogels research accomplishments are reviewed on the aspects of crosslinking strategies,preparation methods,the model drug,polymer conjugation and modification with targeting ***,swelling kinetics,drug release profile and biological activity in vivo and in vitro are *** biocompatibility of GO based hydrogels is also discussed from the perspective of its nano-bio *** from that,the clinical potential of GO based hydrogels and its major challenges are addressed in ***,this review concludes with a summary and invigorating future perspectives of GO based hydrogels for anticancer drug *** is anticipated that this review can stimulate a new research gateway to facilitate the development of anticancer drug delivery by harnessing the unique properties of GO based hydrogels,such as large surface area,chemical purity,high loading capacity of drug,chemical stability,and the nature of lipophilic for cell membrane penetration.
