In this paper, we present a neighborhood following primal-dual interior-point algorithm for solving symmetric cone convex quadratic programming problems, where the objective function is a convex quadratic function and the feasible set is the intersection of an affine subspace and a symmetric cone attached to a Euclidean Jordan algebra. The algorithm is based on the [13] broad class of commutative search directions for cone of semidefinite matrices, extended by [18] to arbitrary symmetric cones. Despite the fact that the neighborhood is wider, which allows the iterates move towards optimality with longer steps, the complexity iteration bound remains as the same result of Schmieta and Alizadeh for symmetric cone optimization problems.

In modern gas turbines,the high Pressure Turbine(hPT)is exposed to an extreme thermal environment due to the burned gases leaving the *** burned gases are characterized by flow and temperature distortions that effect the aerodynamics and heat transfer of the *** purpose of this paper is to investigate numerically the effect of the intensity of the swirling flow combined with the temperature non-uniformity‘‘hot-Streak"(h-S)on the aerothermal performances of a hPT Nozzle Guide Vane(NGV).The investigations are conducted on the solid untwisted NGV annular cascade developed in NASA Lewis Research *** swirl intensities(|S_(n)|=0,0.1,0.25 and 0.5),two swirl orientations(positive and negative)and two hot-streaks(rounded and radial)at the NGV inlet are *** simulations are done by solving the Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS)equations using ANSYS-CFX *** results show that the h-S with swirl undergoes twisting following the orientation of the *** h-S twist is aggressive under positive swirl compared to the negative swirl *** inlet swirl generates a new secondary flow structure,so called Swirl Vortex(SV),which induces more aerodynamic *** aerodynamic efficiency under negative swirl found to be higher than that under positive *** maximum temperature on the vane surface is controlled by the radial transport of the SV towards the endwalls.

A mathematical model has been presented to study the combustion of a single copper concentrate particle with high moisture content. By using the presented model, the effect of particle moisture content on particle temperature, sulfur oxidation, and combustion heat generation has been evaluated. The mineralogical composition of the commonly used concentrate at Khatoonabad flash smelting furnace has been used in this study. It was found that the particle moisture content is removed in the sub-second time range and thus the moisture has marginal impact on the variation of particle temperature and on the reaction rate when the gas temperature is assumed to be constant in the reaction shaft. When a concentrate with high moisture content is charged, the particle size enlargement due to the agglomeration of concentrate particles causes an abrupt fall in the particle reaction rate.

A process for purifying aqueous solutions containing heavy and toxic metals such as chromium（Cr） has been investigated. One of the extremely harmful pollutants in rivers and seawater is the heavy metal ions due to their direct impacts on human, animals and plants are hexavalent Cr（Ⅵ）. Consequently, highly sensitive sensor to detect Cr is essential. Surface plasmon resonance（SPR） technique has attracted huge research interest in detecting heavy metals specifically. In this study, three types of prism-based SPR sensor, gold（Au）/silver（Ag）, Au/polyaniline（PANI） and Au/titanium dioxide（TiO2） nanostructured films, are investigated as potential sensing material to detect the presence of Cr（Ⅵ） ions in water. The base Au layer with thickness of 48.3 nm is deposited on a glass slide for all sensors. For Au/Ag, Au/PANI nanofibers and Au/TiO2sensor films, the Cr（Ⅵ） concentration is varied from 1 ppm to 15 ppm with sensitivity of 0.270 °ppm-1, 0.082 °ppm-1and 0.039 °ppm-1, respectively. Based on these results, the Au/PANI nanofibers are the most sensitive to Cr（Ⅵ） among the tested sensing materials.

The effect of graphene oxide(GO)and reduced graphene oxide(RGO)nanosheets on the microstructure and mechanical properties of welded joints of mild steel was evaluated by flux-cored arc *** was synthesized by the hummer’s method and was reduced under hydrothermal conditions at a pressure of 1.1 MPa at 180°C for 12 h.1,3,and 10 mg/mL paste fillers were used in GO and RGO,and applied to the weld *** results clearly showed that by increasing the concentration of RGO up to 10 mg/mL,the tensile strength and hardness of the weld metal were improved by approximately 20.5%and 38.4%,respectively,because the coarse grains were changed into fine *** domain of the nanosheets cluster was 19.85×10^?9 ***,the RGO nanosheets contributed to modifying the mechanical properties of the welded steel,likely due to dislocation pinning.
