We consider how small delays affect the integral-input-to-state stability(iss)property for a *** result is similar to the input-to-state stability(Iss)result obtained in[1]:the iss property will be preserved in a practical and semi-global manner if the delay interval is small ***,since the iss quantifies the robust stability in terms of a generalized li norm of the inputs instead of a generalized loo norm of the inputs for the Iss case,the techniques and proofs for the Iss case do not apply to the iss case *** the proofs in[1]are based on the lyapunov-razumikhin approach,our proofs are based on the iss-lyapunov functions for the zero-delay *** addition to the interest by its own in showing how the iss property is affected by small delays,the result also serves to the study of the iss property for singularly perturbed systems.

Many phenomena in nature and technology are associated with the filtration of suspensions and colloids in porous media. Two main types of particle deposition,namely, cake filtration at the inlet and deep bed filtration throughout the entire porous medium, are studied by different models. A unified approach for the transport and deposition of particles based on the deep bed filtration model is proposed. A variable suspension flow rate, proportional to the number of free pores at the inlet of the porous medium, is considered. To model cake filtration, this flow rate is introduced into the mass balance equation of deep bed filtration. For the cake filtration without deposit erosion,the suspension flow rate decreases to zero, and the suspension does not penetrate deep into the porous medium. In the case of the cake filtration with erosion, the suspension flow rate is nonzero, and the deposit is distributed throughout the entire porous medium. An exact solution is obtained for a constant filtration function. The method of characteristics is used to construct the asymptotics of the concentration front of suspended and retained particles for a filtration function in a general form. Explicit formulae are obtained for a linear filtration function. The properties of these solutions are studied in detail.

In-situ electron irradiation and aging are applied to introduce high-density precipitates in an Mg-10Gd-3Y-1Zn-0.5Zr(GWZ1031K,wt.%)alloy to improve the *** results show that the hardness of the Mg alloy after irradiation for 10 h and aging for 9 h at 250℃ is 1.64 GPa,which is approximately 64% higher than that of the samples before being *** is mainly attributed to γ'precipitates on the basal plane after irradiation and the high-density nanoscale β'precipitates on the prismatic plane after aging,which should be closely related to the irradiation-induced homogenous *** latter plays a key role in precipitation *** result paves a way to improve the mechanical properties of metallic materials by tailoring the precipitation through irradiation and aging.

BACKGrOUND Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease(MASlD)and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis(MASh)are a growing health burden across a significant portion of the global patient ***,these conditions seem to have disparate rates and outcomes between different ethnic *** combination of MASlD/MASh and type 2 diabetes increases the risk of hepatocellular carcinoma(hCC),and hispanic patients experience the greatest burden,particularly those in South *** To compare outcomes between hispanic and non-hispanic patients in the United States,while further focusing on the hispanic population within Southeast Texas to determine whether the documented disparity in outcomes is a function of geographical circumstance or if there is a more widespread reason that all clinicians must account for in prognostic *** This cohort analysis was conducted with data obtained from TriNetX,llC(“TriNetX”),a global federated health research network that provides access to deidentified medical records from healthcare organizations *** cohort networks were used:University of Texas Medical Branch(UTMB)hospital and the United States national database collective to determine whether disparities were related to geographic regions,like Southeast *** This study findings revealed hispanics/latinos have a statistically significant higher occurrence of hCC,type 2 diabetes mellitus,and liver fibrosis/cirrhosis in both the United States and the UTMB hispanic/latino *** mortality in hispanics/latinos was lower within the United States group and not statistically elevated in the UTMB *** This would appear to support that hispanic patients in Southeast Texas are not uniquely affected compared to the national hispanic population.

Brain diseases affect millions of people and have a huge social and economic *** use of neural probes for studies in animals has been the main approach to increasing knowledge about neural network ***,neuroscientists are trying to develop new and more effective therapeutic approaches to treating neurological *** implementation of neural probes with multifunctionalities(electrical,optical,and fluidic interactions)has been increasing in the last few years,leading to the creation of devices with high temporal and spatial *** the applicability of,and elements integrated into,neural probes has also led to the necessity to create flexible interfaces,reducing neural tissue damage during probe implantation and increasing the quality of neural acquisition *** this paper,we review the fabrication,characterization,and validation of several types of flexible neural probes,exploring the main advantages and drawbacks of these ***,future developments and applications are ***,this review aims to present the currently available flexible devices and future appropriate avenues for development as possible guidance for future engineered devices.

For decades,researchers have known that when neurons lose their activating inputs,they can atrophy and even *** example,removing sensory nerve inputs from the arm to the spinal cord after amputation or cutting the spinal nerves can shrink the post-synaptic target zones(e.g.,Woods et al.,2000).From touch receptors for the hand and arm,primary nerve afferents enter the spinal cord,and axons travel in the dorsal columns to target the cuneate nucleus(Cu)of the brainstem on the same side of the body(Figure 1).When sensory loss is unilateral,the overwhelming result is for the associated primary target zone to shrink in total size(cross-sectional area),as compared to the size of the opposite side.

Emerging evidence and perspectives have pointed towards the heart playing an important role in hepatorenal syndrome(hrS),outside of conventional understanding that liver cirrhosis is traditionally considered the sole origin of a cascade of pathophysiological mechanisms directly affecting the kidneys in this *** the absence of established heart disease,cirrhotic cardiomyopathy may occur more frequently in those with liver cirrhosis and kidney *** is a specific form of cardiac dysfunction characterized by blunted contractile responsiveness to stress stimuli and altered diastolic relaxation with electrophysiological *** the clinical description of these potential cardiac-related complications of the liver,the role of the heart has traditionally been an overlooked aspect of circulatory dysfunction in *** from a physiological sense,temporality(prior onset)of cardiorenal interactions in hrS and positive effects stemming from portosystemic shunting demonstrated an important role of the heart in the development and progression of kidney dysfunction in cirrhotic *** this review,we discuss current concepts surrounding how the heart may influence the development and progression of hrS,and the role of systemic inflammation and endothelial dysfunction causing circulatory dysfunction within this *** temporality of heart and kidney dysfunction in hrS will be *** a subgroup of patients who receive portosystemic shunting,the dynamics of cardiorenal interactions following treatment is *** research to determine the unknowns in this topic is anticipated,hopefully to further clarify the intricacies surrounding the liver-heart-kidney connection and improve strategies for management.
