A coupled method describing gas–solid two-phase flow has been proposed to numerically study the bubble formation at a single orifice in gas-fluidized *** particles are traced with smoothed particle hydrodynamics,whereas gas phase is discretized by finite volume *** force,gas pressure gradient,and volume fraction are used to couple the two *** effect of injection velocities,particle sizes,and particle densities on bubble growth is analyzed using the coupled *** simulation results,obtained for two-dimensional geometries,include the shape and diameter size of a bubble as a function of time;such results are compared with experimental data,previous numerical results,and other approximate model predictions reported in the ***,the flow profiles of gas and particle phases and the temperature distribution by the heat transfer model around the forming bubble are also *** results show that the coupled method efficiently describes of the bubble formation in fluidized *** proposed method is applicable for solving gas–solid two-phase flow in fluidization.

Widely used spin-coated nickle oxide （NiOx） based perovskite solar cells often suffer from severe interfacial reactions between the NiOxand adjacent perovskite layers due to surface defect states,which inherently impair device performance in a long-term view,even with surface molecule *** this study,we developed high-quality magnetron-sputtered NiOxthin films through detailed process optimization,and compared systematically sputtered and spin-coated NiOxthin film surfaces from materials to *** sputtered NiOxfilms exhibit improved crystallinity,smoother surfaces,and significantly reduced Ni3+or Ni vacancies compared to their spin-coated ***,the interface between the perovskite and sputtered NiOxfilm shows a substantially reduced density of defect *** solar cells （PSCs） fabricated with our optimally sputtered NiOxfilms achieved a high power conversion efficiency （PCE） of up to 19.93%and demonstrated enhanced stability,maintaining 86.2% efficiency during 500 h of maximum power point tracking under one standard sun ***,with the surface modification using (4-(2,7-dibromo-9,9-dimethylacridin-10（9h）-yl)butyl)p hosphonic acid （DMAcPA）,the device PCE was further promoted to 23.07%,which is the highest value reported for sputtered NiOxbased PSCs so far.

Concentrations of 8 heavy metals: cadmium (Cd), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), lead (Pb), nickel (Ni), chromium (Cr), antimony (Sb) and tin (Sn) were examined in 3 species of bivalves (Perna viridis, Crassostrea rivularis and Ruditapes philippinarum) collected from 25 sites along the Pearl River Delta coastal waters in the South China Sea from July to August 1996. In general, Cd, Cu, Zn and Sn concentrations in the three bivalve species collected from the Estuarine Zone were significantly higher than those collected from the Western and Eastern Zones of the Pearl River Delta, which are related to the existence of various anthropogenic activities in the catchment of the Pearl River Delta. The Western Estuarine Zone is mainly impacted by Cr, Ni and Cu contamination. In Victoria harbor, heavy metal contamination is mainly due to Cu and Pb. Cd, Cu and Zn concentrations in oysters were significantly higher than those in mussels and clams. This could be explained by the fact that oysters live mainly in the Estuarine Zone of the Pearl River Delta which receives most of the polluting discharges from the catchment of the Delta. During turbid condition, heavy metals(soluble or adsorbed on suspended particulates) discharged from the Delta are filtered from the water column and subsequently accumulated into the soft body tissues of oysters. heavy metal concentrations in the three bivalve species were compared with the maximum permissible levels of heavy metals in seafood regulated by the Public health and Municipal Services Ordinance, Laws of hong Kong, and it was revealed that Cd and Cr concentrations in the three bivalve species exceeded the upper limits. At certain hotspots in the Delta, the maximum acceptable daily load for Cd was also exceeded.

This article presents the issue of extended warranty and management strategies in a three-echelon competing online shopping supply chain with price- and base warranty period-dependent demand. We employ game theory to develop decision models to explore the interactions between component suppliers and the manufacturer, as well as competition between two component suppliers. Products and extended warranty are sold by an online store, which is the leader in the Stackelberg game. Two scenarios are considered： either the manufacturer offers a prepaid extended warranty to customers or doses not. In each scenario, base warranties are assumed to be bundled with products. Our results show that when the manufacturer＇s repair costs change in a proper range, providing extended warranty can benefit both the manufacturer and the online store; otherwise, the manufacturer has no incentive to offer the extended warranty. Reducing repair costs, improving component reliability, or shortening the base warranty period allows the manufacturer to realize significantly better value of the extended warranty. high component reliability benefits both the manufacturer and the online store, with the manufacturer reaping more benefit. Extending the length of the base warranty adversely affects profit of the manufacturer and the value of the extended warranty.

Dissolved organic carbon in permafrost regions: A review

A large quantity of organic carbon(C) is stored in northern and elevational permafrost regions. A portion of this large terrestrial organic C pool will be transferred by water into soil solution(～0.4 Pg C yr^(-1))(1 Pg=10^(15) g), rivers (～0.06 Pg C yr^(-1)),wetlands, lakes, and oceans. The lateral transport of dissolved organic carbon(DOC) is the primary pathway, impacting river biogeochemistry and ecosystems. however, climate warming will substantially alter the lateral C shifts in permafrost ***, permafrost, precipitation, soil humidity and temperature, and microbial activities, among many other environmental factors, will shift substantially under a warming climate. It remains uncertain as to what extent the lateral C cycle is responding,and will respond, to climate change. This paper reviews recent studies on terrestrial origins of DOC, biodegradability, transfer pathways, and modelling, and on how to forecast of DOC fluxes in permafrost regions under a warming climate, as well as the potential anthropogenic impacts on DOC in permafrost regions. It is concluded that:(1) surface organic layer, permafrost soils,and vegetation leachates are the main DOC sources, with about 4.72 Pg C DOC stored in the topsoil at depths of 0–1 m in permafrost regions;(2) in-stream DOC concentrations vary spatially and temporally to a relatively small extent (1–60 mg C L^(-1)) and annual export varies from 0.1–10 g C m^(-2) yr^(-1);(3) biodegradability of DOC from the thawing permafrost can be as high as 71%, with a median at 52%;(4) DOC flux is controlled by multiple factors, mainly including vegetation, soil properties,permafrost occurrence, river discharge and other related environmental factors, and(5) many statistical and process-based models have been developed, but model predictions are inconsistent with observational results largely dependent on the individual watershed characteristics and future discharge trends. Molluscs are able to accumulate heavy metals and impose health hazard to consumers. The main objective of the present study is to investigate the heavy metal concentrations in edible bivalves and gastropods available in major markets of the Pearl River Delta. fourteen species of edible molluscs were purchased from six markets in hong Kong and Guangdong Province. The fresh of these biota were tested for their cadmium (Cd), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), lead (Pb), nickel (Ni), chromium (Cr), antimony (Sb) and tin (Sn) concentrations (based on wet weight). The results indicated that amongst the 14 edible molluscs, only Cd, Pb, Ni, Cr, Sb and Sn concentrations in three species (Ruditapes philippinarum, Perna viridis and hemifusus tuba) were within the local regulatory limits. Over 60% of bivalve species exceeded maximum permitted levels of Cd (2 mug/g) and Cr (1 mug/g), while over 40% of gastropod species exceeded the maximum levels of Sb (1 mug/g) and Cr (1 mug/g). Most of the samples collected from hong Kong had significantly higher contents of Pb and Sb, but similar levels of Cd, Cu and Zn when compared with samples collected across the border ( p he molluscs purchased in Guangdong markets had higher metal contents than those purchased from the hong Kong markets. When compared with the Provisional Tolerable Weekly Intake or Maximum Acceptable Daily Load recommended by fAO/WhO Expert Committee on food Additives, Cd levels of five species (Anadara ferruginea, Pinna pectinata, Chlamys nobilis, Babylonia lutosa and hemifusus terntanus) and Cr levels of seven species ( Anadara ferruginea, Paphia undulata, Pinna pectinata, Babylonia lutosa, hemifusus terntanus, Cymbium melo and Cipangopaludina chinensis) were higher than both the human daily acceptable limits (for Cd and Cr respectively) and the local regulatory levels (for Cd and Cr respectively).

Multiple fractured horizontal wells (MfhWs) currently are the only possible means of commercial production from the low and ultra-low permeability unconventional gas reservoirs. In early production time, flowback fluid, which constitutes of hydraulic water and gas flow within fractures, is collected and analyzed. flowback analysis has been shown to be a useful tool to estimate key properties of the hydraulic fracture such as conductivity and pore volume. Until date, most tools of flowback analysis rely on empirical and approximate methods. This study presents an improved Green-function-based semi-analytical solution for performance analysis of horizontal gas wells during flowback and early production periods. The proposed solution is derived based on coupling the solutions of two domains: a rigorously derived Green’s function-based integral solution for single-phase gas flow in matrix, and a finite-difference, multiphase solution for gas–water two-phase flow in the fracture. The validity of proposed semi-analytical solution is verified by finely gridded numerical models built in a commercial simulator for a series of synthetic cases considering a variety of fluid and reservoir property combinations, as well as various different production constraints. Comparisons against available empirical and approximate methods are also provided for these cases.

Electrochemical reduction of NO2-to Nh3（NO2-RR） is recognized as an appealing approach for achieving renewable Nh3synthesis and waste ***,we report isolated Bi alloyed Ru （Bi1Ru） as an efficient NO2-RR *** calculations and in situ electrochemical measurements reveal the creation of Bi1-Ru dual sites which can remarkably promote NO2-activation and suppress proton adsorption,while accelerating the NO2-RR protonation energetics to render a high NO2--to-Nh3conversion ***,Bi1Ru assembled in a flow cell delivers an Nh3yield rate of 1901.4μmol h-1cm-2and an Nh3-faradaic efficiency of 94.3%at an industrial-level current density of 324.3 mA *** study offers new perspectives for designing and constructing p-block single-atom alloys as robust and high-current-density NO2-RR catalysts toward the ammonia electrosynthesis.

The cluster-shaped plasmonic nanostructures are used to manage the incident light inside an ultra-thin silicon solar *** we simulate spherical,conical,pyramidal,and cylindrical nanoparticles in a form of a cluster at the rear side of a thin silicon cell,using the finite difference time domain(fDTD)*** calculating the optical absorption and hence the photocurrent,it is shown that the clustering of nanoparticles significantly improves *** photocurrent enhancement is the result of the plasmonic effects of clustering the *** comparison,first a cell with a single nanoparticle at the rear side is *** four smaller nanoparticles are put around it to make a *** photocurrents of 20.478 mA/cm2,23.186 mA/cm2,21.427 mA/cm2,and 21.243 mA/cm2 are obtained for the cells using clustering conical,spherical,pyramidal,cylindrical NPs at the backside,*** values are 13.987 mA/cm2,16.901 mA/cm2,16.507 mA/cm2,17.926 mA/cm2 for the cell with one conical,spherical,pyramidal,cylindrical NPs at the backside,***,clustering can significantly improve the ***,the distribution of the electric field and the generation rate for the proposed structures are calculated.
