In this study we quantify and analyze different components of nocturnal losses from a heated greenhouse with the presence of vegetation for typical winter weather conditions in Marrakesh-Morocco,using a non linear model,based on the greenhouse heat and mass *** was found that 12% of the total input heat was dissipate as a sensible and latent leakage losses,66% was lost by convective exchange through air-inner *** gain of energy at the inner-cover is dissipated at the outer-cover by radiation(66%)and convection(34%).This results point toward some practical measures to reduce heat losses:increasing air tightness,using covering materials with low-emissivity in the long wave band or putting up an external thermal curtain should provide significant energy savings.

This paper numerically investigates the effect of the location of a horizontal fin on the melting of a phase change material(PCM)inside a rectangular enclosure heated by multiple discrete pulsed protruding heat *** fin and the phase change material filling the enclosure store the thermal energy extracted from the heat sources,in sensible and latent *** heat sources are assumed to simulate electronic components undergoing a superheating technical *** extracting heat from the electronics,the PCM plays the role of a heat *** analyze the thermal behavior and predict the cooling performance of the proposed cooling system,we derive a nonlinear mathematical model based on mass,momentum and energy conservation *** numerical investigations are conducted to quantify the influence of the fin position on the thermal behavior and the cooling performance of the heat *** include the transient maximum temperature occurring inside the heat sources and the liquid volume.A comparison between our numerical results and experimental data selected from the literature shows a good *** main conclusion is that the presence of the fin leads to a slight increase in the melting time.

Thermal Analysis of a Phase Change Material Based heat Sink for Cooling Protruding electronic Chips

This work aims to numerically study the melting natural convection in a rectangular enclosure heated by threediscreet protruding electronic chips. The heat sources generate heat at a constant and uniform volumetric rate. Apart of the power generated in the heat sources is dissipated to a phase change material (PCM, n-eicosane with.elting temperature, Tm=36℃). Numerical investigations were carried out in order to examine the effects of theplate thickness on the maximum temperature of electronic components, the percentage contribution of plate heatconduction on the total removed heat and temperature profiles in the plate. Correlations for the dimensionless securedworking time (time to reach the threshold temperature, Tcr=75℃) and the corresponding liquid fractionwere derived.

The Effect of the Fin Length on the Solidification Process in a Rectangular Enclosure with Internal Fins

The aim of the proposed work is to study the solidification process within a rectangular enclosure provided with three internal rectangular fins attached to the left vertical wall of the *** latest is filled with a phase change material(PCM),initially liquid,at a temperature above its melting *** solidification process was initiated by cooling the left wall and fins to a temperature lower than the melting *** order to study and examine the thermal behavior and thermal performance of the proposed system,a mathematical model,based on the conservation equations of mass,momentum and energy was *** governing equations and their associated boundary and initial conditions were next ***,several controlling parameters were *** volume control method was used to discretize the *** resulting algebraic equations were solved *** investigations were carried out to study and examine the effect of the dimensionless fin length on the hydrodynamic and thermal fields of the flow,the dimensionless heat flux,the solidified mass fraction and the dimensionless time of complete solidification.
